“I should of paid a little more for a site running better algorithms. Got all the information I needed from the usual sources in 1 place. However, the vehicle in question had over the years several private plates. One of which had been transferred to another vehicle that was on HP, as the number plate was once on the vehicle I was interested in, the HP check reported that there was finance against. After some annalistic time spent it was clear that the HP was taken out after the plate had been transferred. A good algorithm would of cleared this for me. Other sites seem to manage this. My issue with buying the car now is that if I wish to sell it on, anyone taking this report will be put off the purchase unless they spend time arriving at the same conclusion I did. I was also disappointed that I didn't receive an email copy of the report, I could only read it on line, and had to copy and paste to print it out. Such simple solutions to improve the service, but I guess you get what you pay for.”

Hi Robert, thanks for taking the time to review us. We've taken a policy (as do the other car check sites) of showing all finance on previous plates - a plate change is unfortunately often used to hide previous finance or damage. The finance companies do not have a consistent way of recording finance (against VRM or VIN) so there is no algorithm that could automate this checking. We've taken the view that it's better to show our customers more information so that they can confirm whether or not the finance applies to their vehicle, rather than less and they potentially end up with a car that isn't rightfully theirs. “I was suprised to see how little info there was on my report. Nearly all the info was available foc on other websites. There is a lot of important info missing that I expected to get when I paid for it. I am totally dissatisfied and have asked for a refund”

“Did not show mot history for my vehicle. Said it wasn't available on the free check and to try the gold. Paid for the gold and still no mot history. Not happy!!”

“Seems great on the surface, but don't trust the conclusions! I bought a car which passed a ukvehicle.com check, then turned out to have been clocked back by 40,000 miles! This was verified by registered MOT mileages - how did this not show up in my check?! Wasted my money on the car check - then on the car. Not impressed.”

“Am still waiting for a reply as to whether the car is free of any finance dept. Which was the most important item. Plus there was a discrepancy regarding the registration date you said it was 2005 while the owner claims it's a 2006 ? Which is it”

“The mot history was unavailable for a 9 year old car. The only thing i wanted to check. When contacted reply came quickly that there was no online record and as an apology we will refund your 50% fee which was 2 weeks ago still no sign. The sample report shows the mot history so why cant they confirm if all info is present before they charge a tenner? Feel like being conned Got the mot history eventually by calling DVA for free over the phone”

“did two vehicle checks with this company,first one was fine,second one was unsucessful because they said payment didnt go through and i wouldnt be charged.i then did the second check with another company with no issues.i checked my paypal account and found out that i actually was charged for both transactions.i emailed the company to complain and have not received any response- so beware of this problem. nad gounden”

“You have meant it as Manual vehicle but it's actually an automatic vehicle. And it really confused a lot then I have to check in DVLA records and it was confirmed that it is automatic.”

“Perhaps this is something you do not cover but I was hoping to see the service history. Also there is only one MOT, I would like to have known its MOT history. Most info was already visible so I did not really have to pay but I did, and didn't gain much more information so I was slightly disappointed. I can however see that had the car been stolen etc I would have found the info invaluable.”

We're obviously disappointed to hear that you think we're only showing free data - we pay for MIAFTR (insurance industry database) and Police National Computer data so you can confirm whether or not the van has been stolen, written-off, scrapped, exported as well as a huge amount of additional DVLA data we call upon. To our knowledge, none of this is available publicly, or freely and so that's why we've built our affordable car check service. We're sorry to disappoint on mileage - whilst we don't always have mileage data we do always show an expected mileage range that you can check against.
