I've been reading all the bad reviews and can't believe it's the same Cooper's. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I have nothing but good to say about them. When I've called them I've always found them polite and helpful. When I ordered an item that was out of stock, I received a letter to let me know, and the item was shipped as soon as it came in. They enclosed a voucher for my inconvenience, my only complaint was that I had to spend a certain amount to use it. I've been shopping with them for a few years now (a neighbor recommended them) and the items have always been delivered in a timely fashion and in good condition. I would highly recommend Coopers of Stortford.

Any company that charges you a Premium Rate call charge to speak to them, does not deserve to be in business. 😤

by keeping me waiting in a queue when I rang to chase up my order on three occasions I never got through but ended up with phone charges of nearly £10. Would never order again and will tell everyone I can of my experience. Absolute rip-off. Also they don't publish an email address and there is no link on their website so there is no way to complain directly - I certainly will not be phoning them!!

I wish I didn't need to give this company any star at all. Please DO NOT use this company. I have an ongoing issue with them about a fruit cage I purchased in January 2018, so last year. After delivery, it was not erected until around May time. It cost me £39.99 plus postage (today the same product is listed at only £17.99 … wonder why)!? The trouble is that around May of this year (2019) the netting developed more holes than it had originally and now it's just disintegrating and almost in bits (see photos attached). I have contacted Coopers, who tell me it carries just a year's guarantee. How ludicrous for a fruit cage, which has to survive all elements thrown at it over the years. I have sent Coopers 2 letters with photos of the netting, together with a sample of it as it is now, so they can see for themselves. However, apart from one short letter I received from them, saying that they 'have been selling this product since 2014 and have not received any other complaints of this nature' (which itself is wrong, as when I looked at the first 5 reviews, 4 of them were recommending not buying one of these fruit cages, as the netting is awful and won't last) - I told them they should look at their own web site reviews, I have not received any further communication from them. I'm completely disgusted with their attitude and I now have to purchase a quantity of decent strong netting to go around the frame bought from them.

I have to say I am extremely disappointed with the service received from this company, I ordered a water cooler online , my first ever order I must add, paid for it through PayPal and waited for delivery. 6 weeks later I'm still waiting for delivery even though being told by customer services I would receive my item 2 days ago! Now been told I should receive it by Monday! !! Just tried tracking the item through hermes via a tracking number provided by customer services to find that it's not even reached the courier yet!! Absolutely disgusted and fed up will not be recommending or using coopers of stortford ever again!!

I've been waiting over a week now (as I type this) for Coopers to send stuff I ordered. They've had my money up front already (paid by debit card online). Their website orders page has said 'order being processed' since day 1. I emailed them today asking if they'd noticed I placed an order on their site and their short, curt reply said that they had up to 28 days to fulfill delivery, and that some or all of the bits I've paid for might arrive at different times. No apology from them for such a delay. They use Hermes home delivery, not Royal Mail, so there is absolutely no excuse for holding up ordered goods in this way. If I could find an equivalent trader that sells the kind of stuff we need, and they are able to deliver punctually, I would use them and say good riddance to Coopers.

Utterly shocking company that doesn’t deserve customers. My parents, both in their 80’s, spent £350 in ordering all their Christmas presents in November 2021. It is now almost February 2022 and they still haven’t received them, resulting in them being unable to buy anyone a present for Christmas! They literally spent hours on end in desperate and futile telephone calls to completely unhelpful, pass the buck, working from home with screaming babies in the background staff. Staff that tried to blame my parents for giving a incorrect address, which was a lie, because Coopers had sent their order to the wrong address. A staff member suggested if they wanted their goods they should contact the people at the address they sent it to and ask them to send it to them! They also suggested they go and collect their order themselves from the address Coopers had incorrectly delivered it to. For disabled people in their 80’s, a round trip journey of 800 miles, which would have taken them 4 days. What a disgustingly shameful request. On Coopers advice my parents cancelled the order then re ordered so they may get it in time for Christmas. After waiting and waiting, and hearing nothing more, they spent many more hours on the phone in a perpetual buck passing fest, only and eventually to be told their was no record of their re order! If it wasn’t for the stress and heartache this has caused it would be laughable…. Coopers, then refused a refund on the re order because they now cannot find it on their records. I have had much experience with incompetent customer service in my life but this sorry disgraceful company have raised the bar significantly! In desperation my parents approached their bank, who unlike Coopers, have been completely understanding and are providing a refund! Oh, and if anyone fancies having my parents order, please feel free to collect it from Cornsay Colliery, where Coopers have just left it at wrong address! Coopers, you are a disgrace!

AVOID AVOID AVOID! IGNORANT CUSTOMER SERVICES, UNHELPFUL. ALSO COST ME £12 FOR A 15 MINUTE PHONE CALL TRYING TO FIND OUT THE MESS THEY HAD MADE WITH MY ORDER! I HATE THIS COMPANY!! AVOID¬!

Oh dear, things are not looking good for this company. I've had a live telephone call and a web chat, problem still not rectified. I placed an order on the 9th February, order total £119.98, the money was taken from my account immediately, I saw on the 13th a further amount of £119.98 was taken, I called and spoke with a very pleasant Daniel who unfortunately could not help me and even told me that the money would not have been taken twice, that it's impossible as the company does not store card details. I tried to explain that I was in fact looking at my online bank statement as we spoke and that the money had most certainly left my account twice, he said his supervisor would call me to explain ... still waiting for that call!! I've been in touch again this morning via web chat with Mikey and he couldn't help either, surprise surprise, he has also told me his supervisor will call me today. No where during the order process was I informed of a "pending transaction" payment being taken as well as the original payment, in my opinion this is theft and fraud. Apparently my order was shipped 2 days ago and the "pending transaction" will be back in my account within 2/3 days. If I had known all this before I placed my order I would not have done so and will most certainly not be making any purchases. Not entirely sure where my order was shipped from that it is taking so long to arrive! At this point I am seriously regretting placing an order. I shall be reporting the company to the necessary authorities

Coopers have taken 2 payments from my bank account for a defective water cooler that's going back. Been told it can take up to 7 working days to be put back in but they couldn't tell me why I have a pending payment when payment has already been taken! Customer 'services' had no idea, appeared condescending and uninterested from get go. Avoid at all costs as they haven't got a clue and sell below par goods going by their reviews!

I stopped buying from Coopers years ago. They are the worse company on earth. Goods: everything they sell used to be made in china (I never give china a capital letter). The goods were complete and utter rubbish. Now at a different address I have received a catalogue. I intended ordering about six items THOUGHT THEY MIGHT HAVE CHANGED ~ Read reviews. It seems they have got worse!! Thank you my friends for your reviews. I will not order and never get caught by them again. They are an absolute disgrace. This is how they stay afloat. They buy the cheapest made rubbish from china. Charge 90% over what they paid for it, and most people do not bother to send goods back, and do not order again. This is where they make their money but their largest revenue is the telephone calls. The longer they make you hold on the more money they are making. Never telephone them. Never order from them. Make them sink. Would be doing good for the country. They are an embarrassment.

I sent this company an email on the 20th May 2020 asking them if they had received a returned delivery? I had originally thought that the item would come to me in one piece, as a whole. As I am disabled with arthritis in my hands I couldn’t put it together on arrival. I have had no reassurance as to what has happened on me making sure they received this item in return. I am disappointed with their lack of attention to this and any refund which I have not seen as yet? As a result I could not consider ordering from them again. Also I could not recommend them to anyone else either. It’s not the best to feel out of pocket and one would not want that for someone else.

I sent in an order by post on the 13/3/2020 with a cheque for two items... So, on the 26/3/2020 - as I had not heard from your company or received the goods... I phoned Coopers twice and was told by two different people that my order and cheque was not in their system ?? They also said there was nothing they could do to help me ? and the second woman rudely told me I should have ordered by email ? Please could you instruct your staff to be more helpful with your customers and not treat us so rudely! also, why have hard copy order forms, if Coopers cannot process them or in my case loose them !? I hope my bad experience has helped you understand how some of your customers are treated on the phone when they phone in with a query... With my kind regards Jane Henry

Bought some buy-one,get-one-free Halogen room heaters. Within 3 weeks all 6 halogen elements had blown. Knowing that these elements do not last forever (but a damn sight longer than 3 weeks), I'd also bought some spares. And they turned out to be for a different heater. You're better off going to Dunelm and getting a fan heater for £10-£15. I wrote a review in a similar vein to this for Coopers, and, funnily enough, it's not been published.

No refund received after 3 months, despite promises My parents had been loyal customers of Coopers for many years. They liked to buy from the catalogue, especially as they were less able to get into town, and not confident ordering from Amazon. They ordered a walker from Coopers, but by the time they received it my father was too ill to use it. Coopers agreed to collect it and provide a refund. My father died shortly after. 3 months later, several expense phone calls, and many emails later, they are now refusing to refund my widowed mother the £79.99 that without my Dad’s pension, she cannot afford to be without. Do not buy anything from this company unless you are sure you need it, and will live to enjoy it.
