Went to curry’s at Pippa Hill Basildon to buy a kettle & coffee machine. Was happy to decide on a kettle ourselves but as we had not owned a coffee maker before we read a display board explaining the type of machines Curry’s had on available and then we asked an assistant for help - as we wanted a ground coffee make which was also pod compatible. It was immediately clear she didn’t have a clue about the coffee machines so we asked her who might. She had a quick look around and said she wasn’t sure so we told not to worry. We then notice a lady standing at the exit who looked looked she was there to advise. I asked her if any of the staff could advise us on the coffee machine - she pointed out a young man him to assist us. He came over, we asked the same question ... .... pretty soon it was obvious he had no idea either. His best advice was that after we had purchased their machine we could read the user manual ! I was embarrassed for him so said not to worry we’ll buy elsewhere. He immediately got his mobile out and appeared to have got straight on with his social media posts !! As we went to pay for the kettle I saw a guy dressed differently who looked like a manager who might have an answer for us so i asked him the same question , is there anyone in the store who could help us with which coffee machine would be best for us. “Yes” he said “i can ask this lady to help you”. He directed me to the first girl we had asked and who we knew had no clue. I said to the manager that we had already asked her and she didn’t know. I am now very frustrated as no open knows and no one really cares. At that point we decided we will go elsewhere to purchase a machine. There must be stores who train their staff properly who can advise customers with basic questions. Clearly Curry's can afford to let £200.00 banker sales walk out and buy from their competitors. I will look at other retailers first before returning to Curry’s. Very frustrating and extremely poor customer relations - This is clearly a problem of the arrogance of them knowing there is not much competition out there!

Ordered a gas cooker, electric cooker and electricians turned up to install it, awaited refund 5 days. Ordered myself online as they are incompetent, turned up at last a gas cooker only today to be damaged , now a complaint gone in to these fools and awaiting another gas cooker tomorrow??? Who knows what’s coming!! Is it that hard to supply what I paid for????

Reading Gate Branch. Rude obnoxious manager called ADRIAN BROWN. have a faulty tumble dryer. despite there being several free staff members downstairs they would not assist us as tumble dryers are upstairs, they can only assist with goods on the floor they work on (apparently). 20 members of staff downstairs, one poor guy on his own upstairs. asked a manager to assist, ADRIAN BROWN is the most unhelpful W***** I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. don't waste your hard earned cash in Curry's PC WORLD the after service is Sh**. they will happily take your money but do not expect any assistance if things go wrong avoid like the plague, they just do not want to help you, guess staff follow the example set by their manager, how ADRIAN BROWN is a manager god only knows he has no people skills and his staff are learning these bad traits from him, he should be sacked

Bought a tv from Currys branch in Guisley, near Leeds and found it was much thicker (deeper) than expected plus the aerial socket pointed straight out of the back making it unsuitable for wall mounting in a small kitchen. I took the item back the following day to exchange for a more suitable tv to be chosen from the ones on display. I was surprised to be told I would have to pay a handling charge of 10% as the box had been opened. I asked to see the manager and she said "read our conditions!" Where are these conditions displayed? Said I, certainly not where I can see them! " they're on your receipt she said" I then pointed out that this receipt was only viewable ( in the smallest print available!!) AFTER I had purchased said item The manager was not for changing her mind and walked off. I had to accept this totally illegal charge but it's for certain I'll never visit Currys again. P.s. Just worked out I've spent over two thousand pounds buying items for my granddaughters houses as well as for my own house

DON'T USE THEM for large items. I bought a fridge/freezer online, paid £30 for delivery and another £30 for them to take away the old broken one. They arrived and refused to deliver as they don't supply their delivery teams with proper lifting equipment (apparently it's a pain in the neck to use) so they wouldn't carry it up 2 flights despite my address clearly stating level 2 flat. They were obnoxious, cost me nearly £700 that I didn't receive back into my account for 5 days so I couldn't buy one elsewhere. On top of that I had a freezer and fridge full of food that was ruined and medicine that needs to be kept cold due to live ingredient that went off making my child very, very ill. Shocking service and they fall back on 'it is the drivers decision on whether to deliver'. So, if you don't live in a bungalow DO NOT ORDER from them, they won't deliver and leave you in a really bad situation without a care.

Categories Alternate Text Steven Rees For companies Your review counts! You reviewed Currys PC World Steven Rees Steven Rees 4 reviews 1 star: Bad Just now Total Disappointment ordered a 70" tv in the Folkestone store by a really friendly sales rep. Was ordered and my date was chosen, I paid extra for time slot and on the day, I had no communication whatsoever so i called them. I then find out there was no delivery booked for this day even though my receipt clearly says so. The telephone sales person was very apologetic and couldn't get through to Folkestone via phones. I ended up cancelling the product and was very disappointed. Having looked at Curry's reviews, you can see their level of service is poor. I purchased my TV via Appliance Direct instead and just look at their reviews in comparison. I wished I did not bother with Currys as every time I purchase with them, there is an issue with either the service or staff. The way forward is to buy online and it will not be too soon before companies like currys with extremely poor ratings end up like BLOCKBUSTERS, extinct!

Placed an order in store 3 weeks ago. Told 7 days for delivery. Went back to the store on 01september and got told their delivery delayed to 05th September. Rang on 06th September told waiting for stock to be put on computer so it can be allocated for delivery. Rang again on 09th September and got told they have not received a delivery but one is due on the 10th September. Rang back again to arrange delivery to be told they actually don't have any stock at all and there is none due until October and had it confirmed that the store knew there was no stock due when I originally placed the order in August. Totally fed up so asked for a refund only to be told no one can authorise a refund so I must travel nearly 10 miles to the store I ordered from to get a refund a month after ordering. ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS. SO RANG AO.COM, CONFIRMED THERE AND THEN DELIVERY TIME AND DATE. CURRYS YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY BUSINESS FROM ME AGAIN

I've bought Washing machine in a Currys shop. Paid for delivery, paid for installation, paid for Repair and Support plan. Don't do that, NOTHING from their products works and all are lies. ** They WON'T install your product if they do not have time or do not feel like it. I've been left with washing machine in the middle of the kitchen and the delivery guys left. ** They WON'T ensure your warranty is dealt with during 48 hours. They are BUTLERS of suppliers. Suppliers decide WHEN and WHAT is repaired, which means the Repair and Support Plan is a SCAM. Probably criminal. In my case Samsung said they GUESS the MIGHT deal with the referred issue during 3 days, but they guarantee NOTHING. ** They WON'T replace product damaged during transport you ordered from Currys shop. RESULT: Samsung washing machine bought from Currys is in a corner of my garage waiting for legal procedure with Currys and I bought a new one elsewhere. 6 hours of my time and £500 wasted.

spent £900 on washing machine and hobs, added the installing service, for the next week, got a day off to receive the goods and the day of the delivery i get a phone call asking where to park, i tell them where to and i realize that after two hours they just disappeared, i call the customer service, and they said that they left without telling me anything, the reason was because they couldn t park, at that point i was shocked and angry because got the day off, meanwhile i had to be another week without hobs and cooking only with microwave and oven. the lady on the phone then tells me that they will call me back for an appointment and guess what, i didn t get any call. i get a call after 2 and half weeks while i was on holidays and they said that the truck was downstairs my building for delivery, i was shocked again and tell them that i didn t know anything about it. so the lady from the phone tells me that they will call me in few minutes to rearrange a delivery, this time i got a call after 5 min and the person on the phone said to reschedule for the next two weeks on a specific day. i got the day off, waited till 4pm and called the customer service, guess what, the girl on the phone told me that they cancelled the day before and they didn t tell me anything about it, then i feel frustrated and a bit angry and ask her to arrange a delivery for next day and she says, it s been cancelled so i can only refund you, long story short we had a bit of a conversation and she hang up the phone on me without refunding me. Can i assume that I've been robbed? i called again currys and the guy on the phone refunded me. Conclusion and sorry if i was long, but with all my strength, in the future, if i can avoid such a bad shop i will with all myself, and i will suggest to everyone of you to find another alternative before going to currys, this wasn t my first bad experience but the worst. once i had a broken tv and they didn t refund me, same happen to a friend. now i m without hobs and washing machine and more than a month has passed.

Don't honour 5 year guarantee If you are thinking about buying a new TV from Curry's i would seriously advice against it. I bought a new TV 2 years ago with a 5 year guarantee. I turned it on one morning and had a massive line down one side on the screen. Phoned up Curry's and got told someone would collected TV and repair it and if it could not get fixed i would either get a replacement TV or get a voucher for new one. I got sent Message today saying my TV could not be fixed and to phone a number about this issue. I phoned number and spoke to a quite rude lady that told me it could not be repaired because they could not get parts for it and it was damaged my user. Blaming myself to get out of replacing a TV only 2 years into a 5 year Guarantee. When the delivery man came to pick TV up he asked if there was any cracks etc on screen and checked as he took it off stand. The TV was fine you only see the problem when it is turned on. It seems Curry's are not interested in honouring 5 year guarantee with any of there products. They just want to blame the customer if anything goes wrong. Have shopped with Curry's for over 20 years but the 1st time i have a problem with a TV they are not interested in honouring a 5 year Guarantee. Will never shop at Curry's again and would advice anyone who is going to buy an expensive TV to stay well clear as they will try and blame the customer if you run into problems.

It would be no stars if possible! 19th August I go on line to curry’s pc world. I placed an order for the Samsung Galaxy tab S6 with pre-order which allowed you to get a keyboard for it for £50.00. Total order of £739.00 My payment was authorized and all was well or so I thought! 3rd September after hearing nothing about the delivery of this and not having any email regarding it being sent I telephoned them. I had already emailed them on the 2nd and also tried live chat (never bother with this they are not at all interested) but they ignored all of it. On telephoning their customer services today I was just told they do some internal security check and my order was cancelled without them telling me why, when or even giving me any reason. They are determined not to give an explanation and now it would cost me £39.00 more to get the same things as there is now not the same offer on the keyboard. I am sure too many people wanted the offer and they decided to cancel a whole load of the orders. Do not buy from them go anywhere else that wants to have the custom instead. I have never had a problem with Amazon and would not have gone to Curry's at all except my son wanted it on release day (obviously didn't happen).

Avoid avoid avoid!! Know how Purchased a Panasonic veria 49 inch TV 2 years ago, bloke in Currys said about this know how insurance told us that we would be covered if our daughter chucked something at the screen if the TV was to fall off the wall or if TV broke down for any reason. We were also told we would be able to have a loan TV while ours went away for repair. We thought that sounds brilliant gives us peace of mind, so we have been paying it on time every month. 2 years passed our TV has a clouding on it or led bleeding so my husband rings know how told them what has happened we were told there was no loan TVs so we would have to go in a queue but when we purchased the TV we were actually never told we would have to go in a queue for a loan TV. It turns out they have changed the terms on a loan TV we wasn't informed so my husband puts a complaint in they finally come round to our way of thinking as customer is always right! Booked repair in our TV will be picked up on Thursday we will also give you vouchers so you can go pick a loan TV basically their way of saying they messed up they are in the wrong. We were like ok ye that's fine got the vouchers went to get new tv. Currys turn up at ours take TV week later we get an email saying TV been repaired screen has been replaced we thought brilliant. Our TV arrived back home today put it on and what's still there the clouding but it's worse then what it actually was! Next thing my daughter wanted to play Xbox she has autism it calms her down so we went to change the channel for her and what pops up coloured lines all over the screen we have video evidence of this aswell for proof! It turns out the repair center haven't put the hdmi ports back together properly this is a fire risk it could set on fire! We have 3 young children so my husband unplugged it put it to the side took it off the wall rang team know how told them it's dangerous and it's a fire risk! Guess what they didn't want to know oh we will get someone to pick up your TV tomorrow morning but they only have till Saturday to replace our TV or give us a full refund we have been told the tv will be wrote off! So my husband stated consumer rights act that we are entitled to a full refund because tbh a greedy company who don't care that a TV could start a fire, I don't want to have nothing to do with them anymore! I'm absolutely disgusted with Currys and team know how we were also told that this extended warranty we have isn't an insurance it's a policy! They have broken the terms and conditions on our agreement. We were told we would get a voucher I don't want a bloody voucher I want my money back! I'll go to another company who put their customers first and care about them, unlike this company who couldn't give a dam about their customers! The support team don't care all we keep getting told is you will receive a call back by the end of the day even though we have told them it's a fire risk that's their answer! What the hell do we pay this bloody insurance for its nothing but a bloody con, so they can get more money out of you. So anyone looking to purchase from Currys and buy this insurance avoid like the plaque it's aload of rubbish never ever again will I purchase from Currys or touch their insurance! Further to this we were given a choice of a new TV they would give us a voucher but it was their choice what TV they choose us! Or partial refund of £250 and we keep TV what a smack in the face nowhere in the terms and conditions does it say that it's a TV of their choice! So we have taken the £250 and kept the TV we are taking Currys to court they damaged our TV further and we get punished for it!!

Poor quality faulty product - Currys would not replace or refund Bought a fridge from Currys essentials in January. One of the shelves broke a couple of months later for no apparent reason. The shelves have very thin plastic edges which just seem to collapse. Currys replaced the shelf and now 2 more shelves have broken. Same problem. They have now sent me replacement shelves with no edges which are completely useless. This fridge is not fit for purpose and obviously has inadequate shelving. I have asked for a refund or to purchase an alternative fridge. Curry's say the fridge is still in working order and will not replace. I have wasted so much time on this issue and am really angry that for the sake of some tiny bits of plastic edging this product is useless. What waste for a bit of penny pinching in product development. I will not be buying from Currys again and would advise others that Curry's own brand products are shoddy and the customer service is appalling.

Purchased Kenwood Fridge KSBNIX18. All delivered fine. The ice dispenser didn't work. 8 phone calls, 1 visit to the store, 4 emails to Kenwood, several calls to Kenwood. I have spent over 1 hour on hold to team hopeless and the Kenwood site cannot even locate their own fridge. Normally I would suggest Currys represent a reputational risk to Kenwood, however, it turns out they are rubbish too so it is a perfect match. Do NOT use Currys - stick to John Lewis.

0 Stars Team KnowHow Given 4 attempts to install a dishwasher they still didn't get it right. I finally told them to take it out and refund me, then they couldn't even send the right crew to come and collect the machine. PATHETIC, INCOMPETENT, TIME WASTERS. After pressing for further action a collection date was brought forward and the machine was taken away 22/8/19. Low & behold, this morning (29/08/19) they came to collect it again. PATHETIC, INEPT AND ANNOYING. PS YOU RECOVERED THE MACHINE LAST WEEK WHERE IS MY REFUND?
