Very poor customer service. I bought a computer tower which didnt accept a memory upgrade. Did the usual things - used the original memory in the upgrade slot and used the new memory in the original slot - that proved that the upgrade slot wasnt working. Went to currys. Met with apathy and an offer to have a replacement which was a display model. I agreed to that and was asked to return in an hour so Currys could restore the display model to factory settings. I returned as asked - the display machine wasnt ready - told to return next day - after an argument with the manager - who honestly couldnt run a bath let alone a shop was told to return today - for a new boxed machine which was being delivered from another store - at time of writing it still hasnt tipped up.

Well where do you start. Found a good deal (so I thought) on an in-stock 4k tv in Curry's. Loaded a gift card with the money (additional discount) and headed off to the shop to buy the TV. After listening to the store staff's sales pitch (Very superficial, please do you research before you go in as their knowledge based on price and Mhz), I finally got to purchase the TV I wanted. Then the problems started... Half way through the transaction the computer system crashes. We then moved to a different terminal, only to discover that the gift card has been processed and can't be re-used (this is a fundamental issue in their system as gift cards are processed before the transaction is completed). Spoke to "manager" who tried to contact their head office, but as it was a bank holiday nothing could be done. I was told that the "hold" should be released in 24 hours and to return Monday to complete the transaction. Also, promised a phone call to update me on the progress of my case (never received). Come Monday off I trot to the store to get my TV, only to be told by the "Manager" that I should have received a phone call informing me not to come to the store as the money had not been released (no call received). After a heated debate about the level of incompetency, their lack of knowledge of their systems (normally it does take 24 hours, again I was unlucky - really?) and the complete lack of failure with communication, I was basically informed that I would need to come back another day, or arrange a delivery in order to get this issue resolved. To be honest I can now see why companies like amazon are doing so well. Curry's, and the rest of the high street, only have customer service (and very occasionally price) to distinguish themselves from their online counterparts, but if this is the level of service we can expect then the high street is doomed. Staff are lack-luster and management are ineffectual and rude. in my opinion stick with Amazon, they are far superior in the way they operate. One other tip, if you are going to buy a TV from Curry's DO NOT buy their HDMI cables, they are overpriced and the sales pitch is not accurate. At short lengths the quality of the HDMI is not that important.....

Most reviews have a constant theme. Customer service failings. Curry's need a customer service director who understands customer service. The lack of basic customer communication is shocking. In my case it was your new Galaxy S7 Edge will be available for collection in 1/2 days. That was 10 days ago. Three visits to store and assurances from managers that they would personally call me and keep me appraised of delivery progress. Nothing. When such apathy cascades down from the managers, what can expect from the staff that they lead. This was an experience that ensures I will buy elsewhere in future. Well done Currys I suspect you are churning customers faster than the motor insurance industry

The Christchurch currys is an absolute shamble. Not only did the store not have any of the products that I liked in store, they also didn't have the alternative products that they recommended. Quite honestly I'm am ashamed to be seen in that particular shop ever again, the staff weren't particularly helpful and it is incredibly misleading to have products out on display which the store does not have in stock. I am thoroughly outraged at my service at this shop and can easily say that I will not be going back to that shop again. I also recommend that other people go to other currys/pc world brands as the Christchurch store is shockingly bad!

Bought a Samsung tv in October 2015, noticed a fault on the screen five months later, went back to the store I purchased it from at Teesside retail park, and was advised to go through the know how policy I had been advised to take out at the point of sale. The staff seemed as if they couldn't care less, I contacted know how who came and took the TV away 5 days later, I have had to contact them myself or I wouldn't have had any idea what was going on, I was advised that my five month old tv which I paid £2700 for needed a new screen, two weeks later they still can't give me a date for returning my TV. The after sales service in store and with know how is so unbelievably bad, I've spent many thousands of pounds with currys over the years but I'll never buy from them again . I feel like they've taken my money and they just don't care, I'm absaluetly gutted to be treated like this after spending so much money on the TV I feel that I should of been given a replacement TV when a major component has failed after a matter of just a few months.

Currys. Bought a fridge. Just waited the 12 hours (7am-7pm) for my item (standard delivery). They didn't show nor did they have the courtesy to let me know they wouldn't be coming.

Three days waiting for order confirmation, two phone calls to confirm, phoned this morning to cancel, still not confirmed. Waste of time. No customer service. Use an alternative retailer.

We purchased a £1500 philips LED TV and were persuaded to also purchase the care plan with the promise of like for like or same value TV replacement. Roll on a few years and a lot of care plan payments later the TV broke. Currys have declared it none viable to fix so have issued a voucher for the insulting sum of £270 based on the spec of a basic LG model that they have on sale. We are now being given the run around by this company and our local store manager (Workington) as while they all admit the LG is not the same spec they claim similar all be it less spec is good enough. The philips had 5 hdmi/scart plus other connections, the LG has 1 hdmi and that is just the start of its inferiority. Should you ever need to talk to them ensure you record all conversations as they say something different on each occasion. Very short sighted of them as for less money than we have paid, they could up the voucher to a fair amount and they would not have lost thousands of pounds in future sales.

Quick to jump on you when they think they're going to get your commission, quick to fob you off when there's a problem. I bought an iPhone 6 from them which developed problems after 6 weeks, as advised by Apple I took it to the store it was brought from, who refused to do anything about it and sent me out of my way to an Apple Store over 7 miles away. Not quite sure this all fits under the credit consumer act, therefore I have a complaint ongoing.

A few days ago I visited Oxford Currys PC World to buy a computer. The model I wanted was not in stock but I was told it would be there without fail today, which fitted in (just) with my travelling. I went back and the computer had not arrived.Furthermore, they could not say when it would arrive! After a 15 minute wait, I got my refund and then asked to speak with the Store Manager. After another 10 minute delay, he finally arrived and listened to my complaint. I have never seen anyone so disinterested in what a customer had to say - it was actually rude. The story had a happy ending; I could buy the computer at John Lewis at the same price with a two year guarantee and attentive shop assistants.

Purchased my Samsung Tablet from the store at Longwell Green Bristol and was conned into purchasing the Knowhow Careplan which is a complete waste of money. Had to return it with faulty screen which they sent off to be repaired. Collected to tablet which they claimed had been repaired only to find screen now didn't work at all. The sales assistants are all over you when you are making a purchases but need after sales service and they turn on the attitude and don't want to know. On returning the faulty tablet for the second time I asked for a refund which they refused and referred me to Samsung. They have no Know How and no Care in the careplan - I'll now be without my tablet for another two weeks and despite having paid for the careplan and having to sort out the problem myself. Last time I'll shop at CurrysPC world.

Item delivered 2 weeks late at 3rd attempt. Item arrived covered in dents. Delivery man refused to return item to shop. After spending hours on phone told I had to return to shop to get refund. It took 3 visits to shop before they agreed to collect item and refund price paid. Curry's would only collect when convenient for them. It took 3 attempts before item was collected. Hours wasted waiting in for delivery and collection. Curry's not concerned. Then forced to visit shop again to get refund and it took over 30 minutes for staff to process refund. Half-hearted ologies and derisory offer of compensation. Never again!

Next day delivery didn't happen, no contact, every number leads to the same automated service! Found one number to speak to a rep, rang and rang until the office closed and it just cut off! Customer service is so poor it should be sponsored by a Ugandan kid

Bought a washing machine with installation. Waited a week for installation. Two guys turned up but couldn't install as it needed wiring in but neither of them were qualified yet. Went away again and I am still waiting...

Went to Hull Curry's at St Andrews Quay, got a Manfrotto tripod priced at £49-99, got to the checkout and was £75-99. The tripods had been priced wrongly, lots of confused faces, came away without the tripod. Get it right Curry's and if you get it wrong then have the decency to give items to customers at the price on the product. Staff quick to pounce on you to earn commission when you enter the store, yet confused with mistakes and don't want to get involved

Avoid buying from here if at all possible. You might be lucky, but if you are unlucky enough to purchase faulty goods the after sales service is appalling. Paid £865 for a computer and was unlucky in that it was faulty from the beginning - microphone did not work. Unfortunately only discovered this on 29th day after purchase, Currys would not replace or refund, but sent it away for repair etc etc. Came back 4 weeks later still faulty and they wanted to send it back again! John Lewis for any electrical purchases from now on.

Phoned currys today to get an engineer out to look at a broken dishwasher. When I told the person on the phone it was ten years old he flatly refused to help 'in case they need to order parts' what! How hard is it to order parts! Alex who answered the phone said 'it's not that we don't want to help we follow strict guidelines and anything over 8 years is not worth it' They didn't even ask what the problem was which is plumbing and may not need any parts. Alex came across as we he didn't want to help and didnt give a dam - so much for customer services. Reading other reviews shows a similar bad track record. Shame on you currys!!

The email i have just sent to customer service. waiting for reply I purchased a lenovo desktop computer in November 2014 from a currys store in Corby (NN17 5DT). Everything was working fine until the back end of last year, October/November time when my computer stopped turning on. I went into the Corby store and they were really helpful and able to send it off without to much hassle. Perfect. Until i got LIED to! When my desktop computer had been returned to store to be collected, i was informed by the person handing me back the computer that it had been unrepairable and therefore was given a brand new computer (same model etc). Around 2 weeks ago, i went to turn my computer on to use it, when it would not turn on, i then smelt burning and realised that my computer was alight inside of it and letting off a lot of sparks and a bit of smoke. Once i had taken the cable out the back and blew the remaining sparks out, i took it into your Corby store to be told that there was no damage to it inside and that the best they could do is send it off and see what the repair man would say. Upon being told this, i told the person serving me that this was a brand new computer (as i had been told) and therefore it would have only been a few months old. I was then informed that infact it was the same computer that i had purchased in November 2014 and the first time i had sent it off it had been repaired. LIE NUMBER 1! I was then sceptical about sending it off as the first time i had sent it off, the repairmen had kept it for around 3 weeks and i had important college work to do which i missed the deadline, which i know isnt at all any ones fault. However after explaining this to the person serving me, i was told in fact that the first time round that it had been sent off to the repairs was from the 1st November 2015 to the 8th November 2015. I know this can not be so because i had other work to complete by the 27th November 2015 which i could not do as i had no computer. LIE NUMBER 2!! I then proceeded to ask for the manager upon speaking to the manager and I was informed by him everything i had said relating to the repair and replacement of my computer was incorrect thereby implying that i was not telling the truth. At this point i had to leave the store as i was getting very annoyed and angry at the fact that i was not being taken seriously! Along with this, i am deeply concerned at the fact that one of your products caught a light and even though there was no damage to anything else or person(s), it could have been a serious incident if i had not detected the sparks and flame straight away. As a customer who spends a lot of money in your stores around the country and encourage people to go to your stores themselves as i had thought that you were a good, caring and good priced company, i am now having seconds thoughts and wondering weather i should take my spending elsewhere.
