Very convenient delivery by dpd. Quality excellent and doesn’t disappoint. Great options including no nuts brownies and vegan options.

Noone asked me how the delivery went or how it was received. The delivery was not damaged, just not checked by C&S for quality or promised contents.

The chocolate squidge cake was fine. Ever so slightly dry but not too much to make it unpleasant, however the buttercream was super sweet, too sweet for our liking. Most of the cake got eaten so it couldn't have been bad! The delivery came as requested and intact, but DPD just left it at the door without ringing our bell or knocking, I just happened to check my email shortly after only to find one from DPD asking to rate my delivery which is why I checked and found my cake outside.

I used the website so ordered online. Picked the day I wanted the items delivered, making sure I gave myself an additional day before I actually needed the cake and sadly that’s wasn’t enough. The cake was delivered to a random house by DPD in “error” at 11am. I contacted DPD the minute I saw the issue and was told they couldn’t do anything and to contact Cutter and Squidge. I did this about 10 minutes after the delivery notification. I was sent a very patronising response from the AI bot telling me to go to the neighbours house and collect it. The cake wasn’t delivered to a neighbour it was delivered to a house that was showing on Google Maps as being 20 minutes away from where I lived and I didn’t actually have a house number. Asked to speak to a human. Was then emailed at 5:50pm the same day asking when I wanted a replacement cake. I responded within minutes but apparently the office shuts at 6 pm so no one got my response. 12 pm the next day I still hadn’t had a response from them so I then had to contact them again and find out what was going on, to be told “you contacted us out of hours” nothing we can do today but we can deliver in 2 days. Not good enough.

On 3rd March I received an automated e-mail stating the cake had been “delivered around 11am”, which was incorrect and misleading. No cake was delivered on 3rd March. 

Neither I nor the restaurant received any delivery attempt or communication. 

3 days later, on 06.03, the company contacted me suggesting that I collect a 3-day old cake from their bakery despite paying for delivery for 03.03. I paid £141 for a cake to be delivered on a specific date for my birthday celebration. As they did not deliver or did not communicate with me that day at all other than saying that the cake was delivered , misleading me to believe that the cake is in the restaurant, the service paid for was not provided. 

 

I also asked to speak with a manager but, despite being assured this would happen, no manager has contacted me to date. 

I therefore requested a full refund within 7 days, however I have not heard back from them.

We did everything we could to accommodate the conflict between the delivery time you selected and the restaurant opening hours for your event. To avoid the cake being delivered to a closed venue, we arranged for it to be delivered and collected at our Soho store, which was communicated to you the day before delivery. The box of brownies weren’t delivered by DPD, appreciate this isn’t the fault of c&s but I didn’t love that when I contacted the company about it I just got an AI generated response with something generic. They also didn’t offer any discount and I had to ask to be refunded the £5.95 delivery which they should have offered straight away. Personally for a new customer I would have gone further so I won’t be ordering again and would probably tell people to avoid in the future given there are so many other great small businesses out there.
