“Nice surprise. A bit dry. Quite small given the big packaging. I have no idea how much my mum paid, but I felt that it was probably very expensive for what it was. I liked the tin”

“Website, order and delivery process was good and well communicated. Unfortunately, the cake had salted caramel on it which we hate. And was not mentioned in description so this was dissapointing. The brownie pieces were dry also. The main cake was nice and moist and the chocolate ganache and custard elements were great.”

“Sent as a present to my mum for her birthday, as we couldn't celebrate together. Cakes, jam, cream and tea were lovely, her only comment was that when she halved them, two of the scones were raw and undercooked in the middle when she took them out from warming in the oven, so she had to put them back in... other than that, overall happy with my order!”

HI Mark, thanks for your review and feedback, we have looked into your order. Unfortunately, you did not add a gift card to your order. The standard free note is recorded on the packing slip which is placed on the front pouch of the bag or the box. This i can confirm was the case from the POD picture attached to the tracking. I am sorry for any confusion caused and that the recipient was not aware of this. Kindest, Team C&S

“They tasted wonderful but were quite damaged where it was a small box in a large box and just shook around as there was no packing to stop them getting damaged”

“Hi I had ordered the cake for a relatives birthday but unfortunately the chocolate disk saying happy birthday had broken when it arrived. I’m sure the cake tasted good but as it was a gift I can’t comment on that. Just a little disappointing that the chocolate disc was shattered. Thanks Farah”

“Cake arrived in the afternoon. Looked like pictures on website which was nice. When cutting into the cake it felt very firm, and upon tasting the cake was quite dry and dense the buttercream was nice, not much crunchy balls. Not much yuzu flavour, it was more mango. Wouldnt buy the same cake again.”

Thank you for your review, the cake would have arrived pre-refrigerated to avoid any damages on transport. It sounds as though the cake was eaten cold hence the dense hard textures. The cake is best eaten when it has been sitting at room temperature for a few hours which will soften the buttercream and bring out all the flavours of this wonderful cake! kindest, Team C&S

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your review, we are disappointed to see that you gave us 3 stars. We have reviewed your order and can see that you opted for our standard 8am-8pm service, however you wrote in the gift notes that you wanted the delivery after 4pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to action a shorter window slot on the standard service are worked out by the most efficient routes for the drivers, this enables us to offer a competitive pricing across the M25 region. We have taken on your feedback and will now be offering a priority slot of 4pm-8pm. Kindest, Team C&S

“I had a vegan afternoon tea. Unfortunately there was a lot of coconut fat in the butter, cakes, and all the sweet treat, which made it too stodgy to enjoy. The best bits were the savoury items, we pretty much left half the scones and half the cakes. I’ve had better vegan cakes elsewhere. It was a nice experience though!”

“The cake was really good and tasty but the reason i have said acceptable is due to the fact that the board was covered in smudge marks and chocolate ... i havent seen that ever when ordering a cake. Surely someone would wipe the board to make sure it is clean once setting the cake etc ... other than that the cake was very tasty”

“In store visit - Being a regular visitor to Cutter and Squidge I thought an afternoon tea would be great. Unfortunately we should have just opted for out usual slice of cake and cup of tea. I'm assuming that as we had a voucher we were given a sub standard version of the usual - it all just looked a bit sad on the plate to be honest. Simple things make everything look a little more uniform e.g. mini biscies and brownies but then a much larger piece of lemon cake. The same goes for the sandwiches. All in all I was very disappointed and wouldn't bother again. We'll be back for cake and tea though.”
