I had a terrible experience today at Debenham Westfield Sheperds bush. I went to the till after waiting 10 minutes, and before payment I was said I could have 10% off when signing the Debenham credit card. I then went through a lot of very personal questions which I had to reply in front of everybody, from price of my rent to my annual income, jut to hear the cashier saying after loosing 15 minutes of my time that after review, I was not able for "some reasons" to apply for the card. This situation was really embarrassing for me, something should change in their way of doing things as this was unacceptable. I am not blaming the person at the cashier, but the process. I felt really ashamed and down after this incident.

We had a fridge delivered 4 weeks ago, on inspection the freezer latch was broken. We immediately contacted Debenhams (who after 3 phone calls finally got back to us a week later) who then got in touch with the fridge company, who after another week contacted a local repair engineer. We are now still sat with a broken boxed fridge which is unusable in our kitchen 4 weeks later. We have contacted Debenhams again asking for the local engineers number or for the fridge to be picked up and replaced but we are not having any luck. We just want the fridge gone now and to buy from a company with decent customer service. Please DO NOT BUY FROM DEBENHAMS PLUS!

I ordered shoes and decided to opt for the 3-5 working days delivery. I was buying these shoes for a particular event and I had 11 days to receive them. The online site states the delivery time is between 800-1800. So I ordered these to my work - business hours 800-1800. Everything seemed perfect. 9 days passed and still no shoes. I went online to see the my Hermes tracker which said delivery had been attempted twice at 1915pm and 2115pm over the course of 2 days. What on earth? I messaged my Hermes who didn't get back to me and I called Debenhams at 9am of the morning of the night I needed the shoes. I spoke on the phone for 1hr and 10mins to Rachel and then Chris (escalations team). It was then established that the shoes had gone missing. The question is, at what point does Debenhams think that there is a problem here and actually decide to communicate with their customer about what is going on. 3-5 days had long passed. And if the shoes are missing, why not get some new ones delivered? The current system doesn't allow us to do same day delivery - according to Debenhams service team. I can go online now and order same day delivery - why cant you? I am a manager of a business. If I am responsible for letting a customer down I would go above and beyond. This clearly doesn't happen at Debenhams. The service is poor. I was offered 20% back and a refund but that doesn't solve my problem. You can throw as much money as you like at me Debenhams but instead of doing that I would prefer if you chucked the shoes in a taxi and got these shoes to me. I am waiting for Chris to get back to me to see if this can be done. If not - there will be reviews and social media coverage all over the internet about how poor your service is. I have given you a very easy solution. GET IT DONE. If it is - I will write back on here and retract everything I have said, and you will have a completely satisfied customer!

Paid for Next Day delivery...2 days later received an email to tell me that I would have to wait another week, at least, with no confirming of delivery dates.

I sent a CCTV back to Debenahms after it became faulty (2 months). I asked should I send all the kit and was told send just the NVR unit. So I did. I packed the unit professionally, taking care to bubblewrap everything so there was absolutely no movement of items in the box. It was totally secure and nobody could of wrapped it better. Seems Debenhams received the item all broken after signing for it. Another parcel was delivered ok after they insisted on receipt of the whole system. I spoke to one particular CSA who was less than helpful and not very sympathetic at all. There communciation is terrible and they show there inefficiencies via the lack of it! I wouldn't deal with this Company for anything again. Blacklisted!

Upon placing my order, I was informed it will be delivered within 5-7 working days. It has now been 3 WEEKS and there is still no sign of it. When I contacted customer services, I was told that they have no idea where the order is or if it will even arrive. They offered me a refund, but what good is a refund when I actually require the items I ordered for a wedding! TERRIBLE terrible service for such an established company in this day and age. It's quite unbelievable that they cannot even track their own orders!! I will NEVER use them again.

This is the second time I have had a bad experience with Debenhams plus, I tried to order a laptop a few years ago and messed about chronically. Sadly i forgot and tried them again. I ordered a phone last night and the delivery option for today was available. I booked it (paying extra of course as I would expect) I got a acknowledgement, so thought everything was okay and didn't check. However for some reason the payment to paypal didn't go through, which I am sure must be their end as I have never had a problem with this and it isn't even showing in my paypal account. My gut reaction is that they decided they couldn't deliver today and "suspended the order" presuming of course that I would stay with them. Needless to say I have cancelled the order and will never ever use them again.

Lied about having stock, so I cancelled the order - took nearly a month (with daily chasing) for them to issue the refund. Had to complain to Debenhams itself (re abuse of their brand) and get PayPal involved. Would not respond to emails. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I purchased a Galaxy S6 phone in July 2016. In November, the screen was working one minute and went black the next minute. I thought initially it had just shut down. But after 24 hours and trying to charge it, I gave up and realised it must be an internal issue. Debenham's have been no help what so ever. They have blamed it on impact damage even though phone has not been dropped and no external damage. Debenhams have not even seen the phone but are relying on a report from Samsung. They will not supply me with the report and I seriously doubt that the phone has been looked at. I have quoted them the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to which they told me that "after reviewing this case in detail" they are unable to assist. I have now asked them to confirm their ADR details so I can pursue this complaint further. Now they are "still looking into this" for me. Fingers crossed the ADR will resolve a simple issue which Debenhams are refusing to acknowledge. Anyone looking to complain should consider using ADR. You have to complain to the store first. If they do not remedy the situation - then you can refer to ADR. It is FREE for consumers.

I ordered two speakers for presents for Christmas. Firstly they were delivered and left outside my house covered in a dusty front door mat, secondly they weren't packaged at all so there are stickers and despatch notes stuck to the boxes which look rubbish when you're giving a present. I contacted customers services at a costs of 13p per minute plus extras and was told that's how they come. I looked into returning them and I am supposed to send written confirmation of the cancellation (which I would if there was an email address provided) and secondly there would be recorded delivery charges etc etc to pay. I will never be using this site again - I will just stick to Amazon who have got all the basics right (packaging, customer service). Debenhams plus? Debenhams minus more like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Order Cancelled I ordered expensive perfume online on Monday then got an email 1 hour later to tell me that the perfume was out of stock and my order had been cancelled. My money, however, would not be refunded for 3-5 days! Outrageous! On Wednesday, I looked again and 'hey presto' it was back in stock but the price had risen. Come on Debenhams, who do you think you are kidding. You have my money and I could have waited a day for fresh stock...how many people have you diddled out of a Black Monday saving, I'm furious

Without a doubt the worst experience I have had with an online retailer. Purchased a laptop that didn't work, was initially told by them to contact HP and Microsoft directly to fix, and then told to download online tools from various online sources (some not even official Microsoft sources?) to resolve the issue. I had to return it to them (twice) and eventually received a replacement which didn't work either. You would think that Debenhams is a brand you could trust, based on my experience this is far from the truth.

Delivery turned up (a Christmas present) and the product box was damaged. Made it look cheap although it was a fairly expensive product (Cole & Mason Salt and Pepper Mills). The packaging was all ok and well protected with bubble wrap so it was clearly picked and sent in this poor condition. Shame on you Debenhams. Total waste of my time and not what I expected from the brand. Clearly I should have gone to John Lewis or House of Fraser.

Today I had the worst customer service experience at debenhams store in Birmingham as the staff was rude and ignored to help with the issue I had with the purchase I had she told me it's not my problem. Then whose problem is it? I am really annoyed with this kind of stuff in debenhams.

Very impressed with the personal shopper Jane at the Southampton branch today. She gave me other options I hadn't even considered. I tried on the wrong size trousers on my own and disheartened was ready to leave the store, I grabbed one more pair thinking they wouldn't for me anyway and asked her the direction of the dressing room she told me to come in and try them on in her dressing room. Over two hours later and triple more than I planned to spend I was very very happy with what we chose. What a great service. Thank you Jane and thank you Debenhams.
