DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY! I have now been waiting nearly 3 weeks for a refund of £1500, customer services are rude and unhelpful. The refund process is a joke & affects your credit rating.

I'm having trouble finding words to describe these cowboys. We booked a car from them through holidaycars.com(another cowboy company) about 3 weeks before our trip. Because the deposit was in the extortionate amount of over £1800 and needed to be paid via a credit card, i decided to put it in my partner's name about a week before the trip. Got an email back saying they won't be able to change the name, no explanation given. We arrived at easihire's depot in birmingham on the day we needed the car where the guy at the reception was not helpful at all and he didn't seemed to bothered either. We tried to pay the deposit with my partner's card, we were both present. Easirent wouldn't accept it because my name was not on the card. So what difference does it make who pays the deposit as long as its paid and the person paying it is present? We were given the option to pay an extra £180, which was more than the price of the car rental or lose the money. We decided not to pay them an extra penny and raise a dispute through the bank as we though we've been scammed. Nowhere on the booking does it say you have to show 2 forms of proof of address, luckily all our bills come via email so we were able to produce them but if you dont have that, you're screwed, you will have no choice but to lose the money or pay them extra as cancellation refunds are not issued unless you cancel before 48 hrs of your car collection. When we read their bad reviews we were worried we might fall for their scam but the low price determined us to take the chance. Little did we know how sorry we were going to be for choosing these con artists. Stay away from easirent and holidaycars.com. the price you see online is not what you will be paying, read all their reviews.

Misnomer ..Easirent !The worst experience we have ever had with a car hire company .Dreadful .Will never book with this company again.Arrived at the airport at 8 a.m..Rang the Easirent rental company and told 10 mins wait at airport for rental bus ,waited 40 mins .Then waited in reception for 40 mins to collect our car .It was not what we ordered or paid for .Eventually we got a car not to our satisfaction but it was after 10 a.m. and we had a 2 and a half hour journey ahead of us.If we had wanted a small car we would have booked one .We needed one with a good size boot .Incompetent staff .Warning to all . Do not book with the company .

ZERO STARS - by far the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Waited for over an hour for the Orlando airport collection shuttle to arrive; they did not have the SUV I had booked and gave me a car I didn't want; the car was dirty and only 1/4 full; all four tyres were below the required tyre pressure; the inspection report which I signed in the rain at 23h00 indicated no scratches, etc. which turned out not to be the case when I looked at the car in the light of (next) day; there was a real hard sell on a toll fee for the rental period amounting to over $200 which I had to decline several times; my prepaid rental agreement which was concluded with EasyRentalCars, a third party online broker, included zero excess and Easirent refused to honour this and insisted that I take excess insurance through them or accept an $1800 excess liability which I reluctantly was forced to do. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Never again!!!

DO NOT USE - DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE. We booked online through the easirent website, paid the "super relax" insurance meaning we didn't need to pay a deposit and didn't require a credit card. We arrived at the airport and waited 40 minutes for the shuttle bus to arrive. When it finally arrived it took us to a hotel and then back to the airport before finally arriving at the depot. it would be quicker to walk. we then were told we had to pay another 80 euros for "more" insurance. Apparently the wheels aren't insured under the super relax cover. After 1 hour of driving the car we got an error on the dashboard saying we had a problem with a tyre. I checked the pressure at a f garage and one tyre was very low. filled it and drove another 30 minutes before the warning came on again. I checked the pressure again and it was low. this was when I noticed a hole in the tire that had been filled with some sealant. Not a problem, I can change it with the spare in the boot, no spare in the boot just an empty "tyre sealant bottle". it was Sunday afternoon and no garages were open. I called the easirent breakdown number to be told that I should take the car to the garage and they will reimburse me if I take a receipt. I explained it is Sunday and nowhere is open. she didn't care and said I will have to do it tomorrow. we are 2 hours away from our hotel, clearly not safe to drive and not a good first impression of Ireland. luckily the nice lady at the Texaco garage called a mechanic for use and after 1 hour he arrived. we had to follow him back to his work but he fixed it (better impression of Ireland, thank you Paul). He wrote on our receipt that the tyre was unsafe and the car should NOT have been given to us and also pointed out that all 4 tyres were almost illegal. They over charge and give you cars that could be extremely dangerous. PLEASE AVOID. we still have 3 more days left and only god knows if the car will make it without breaking again. can't wait to see what they say about this and also what they try and charge us for some fictitional damage we have caused. I have made an official complaint and surprise surprise we have had no response for over 1 week. I will be taking this further and leaving a review on every website possible. Your cars are dangerous and could have caused a serious accident. Waiting almost 14.days for a refund on the tyre we has to replace. Absolute cowboys

I felt compelled to write this review after years of such good experiences with Easirent. Unfortunately, the incident at their Stansted branch has undone years of happy rentals and good relationships with staff, especially at the Leeds Airport branch, and I feel that I can no longer trust my business and future custom with the company. I hired a car for 2 weeks (my 5th rental of the year) and when I collected the car, all seemed normal and similar to previous experiences. The car however, wasn't in great condition. There had been previous damage to the bumper, the offside wheel arch and damage spots towards the back of the car. I pointed all of this out to the member of staff prior to the rental commencing, and it was noted on the condition report. Upon the return of the vehicle, another member of staff checked the car and identified me to a small scratch on the bumper and told me that there would be a £245 charge. I thought he was joking as there was already a large existing patch of damage to the bumper that existed when I collected the vehicle, and this is what prompted me at the time to notify Easirent. As a customer, not akin to the policies of a company, when you notify them of 'damage to a bumper' especially when the aforementioned damage is extensive and blatant, you expect them to mark the bumper as damaged. That's what I signed for. However, what I was signing for was the position of the damage on the bumper, and in effect, the length of the drawn line on the diagram, not the evident fact that the bumper was in terrible condition. This is indicated by a line on the report which I thought (and was not explained to me) meant that the bumper has 'damage' The scratch that the member of staff pointed out to me was smaller, and a foot or so along from the part of the bumper that had multiple scratches on it. According to Easirent on this occasion, simply mentioning that the bumper has multiple scratches wasn't suffice, I should have indicated every position on the bumper that had a scratch and had it drawn on the diagram. The damage I was accused of doing existed before. I saw it with my own eyes, and clearly made it clear that the bumper was in bad condition. But my focus was on the large area of damage, naturally! 1 - why was the car rented to me with large scratches and dents without prior being fixed? 2 - If a bumper is badly damaged and I tell you about this prior to renting, do you think it's fair to then pick out another scratch on the bumper and accuse me, and subsequently charge me for this damage as a different incident? 3 - How is a customer supposed to know that a long line on a diagram indicates a specific scratch OR a large collection of scratches? Especially on a bumper? I took photos of the car prior to renting, but the scratch is so small, it doesn't show, but, the large patch of damage to the bumper does. If there were 50 tiny scratches all over the car, and it was the renters duty to have all of these indicated on a diagram, then the diagrams used are not fit for purpose. I don't expect my 5 years of loyalty to be recognised by Easirent, neither do I expect them to pay for damage that I create if I have an accident. However, what I do expect is a little bit of common sense and empathy. I expected them to look at the condition report and realise that I had indeed reported the damage to the bumper, not try and pull it completely apart and find scratches that don't fall exactly in line to where they are drawn. This sets a very dangerous precedent and I will be taking this matter further after seeking advice.

It has taken me a while because quite frankly the whole experience was traumatic and I've tried to put it out of my mind. In the hope that someone has a chance to save their trauma I'll jot down my experience. I had pre booked and pre paid and all was supposedly sorted. My car was booked to pick up at 10 am, I arrived early 8.15 and was prepared to wait till the time I had booked, no complaint there. Unfortunately this wait allowed me to see lots of angry customers, passive aggressive staff and long lines of frustrated people being told that their cars were not ready, unavailable or told to wait. I was seated with a few others into a waiting room and then finally an hour later another customer told us that we should move to another room as no one was attending us. We all moved and were seen immediately and told that "it wasn't our fault the front desk told us to wait in the other room". Then the switch and bait began, trying to up the insurance, up the car and paying for petrol that was over priced. I actually told the sharp talking man that I just wanted the car I'd booked and that he was confusing me and I did not appreciate it. He got the message and backed right off. Then the car arrived and had no petrol in it, it was filthy and I was asked "if I minded to go fill it up myself". I flatly refused and they went and filled it before I drove off. It was after our departure that my family member stumbled across this review site and I then began to stress for the rest of the holiday. Of course, on return, they went straight to the back rim and found a "scratch" that I know I did not put on the rim, the rim was filthy on top so it could not have been from me................. Knowing this was the deal with these guys I just paid the money for rim, plus and "admin" fee and went on my way. The staff and creeps, the admin staff are disgusting the way they speak about their female staff and the big sign out the front that says "we will give you 5 pound to write a good review" should say it all! By the way I finally drove out of the "dodgy rent" car lot at 1 pm, but strangely I felt grateful as I had seen many turned away or waiting for cars that just were not available & hearing the switch and bait admin trying to smart talk out of giving cars people had pre booked and expected. Honestly, part of me thinks British tourism should be made aware of this company, it's a terrible start to a family holiday. Do not hire from these people if you have high blood pressure, anxiety or if you want a peaceful holiday.

Here are Easirent's charges...the price you really pay. Please look at the pictures I have submitted. You will get scammed at the airport when you are forced to buy their rip off insurance products and also you will be ripped off on car return. They will charge you for any tiny damage even if it wasn't you that damaged the car. Go to a real car rental company!

Not even a 1 star.I booked through a third party. The wait for a shuttle from the airport was more than 30 min. Other shuttles came and went. The commute to the off site location felt like 15 min. We arrived to a building that looked like a used car lot with used cars. The building was in poor condition, very small not well maintained and no ac. The staff lacked customer service skills and there seemed to be a problem with every customer before me. I contacted the third party co to see if i could cancel before i got to the desk. Unfortunately they had a non refundable policy. After 90 min i was told no full size cars are available but a compact car was ready. This car was awful, dirty no electric windows or locks. I pointed out the filth to the employee she said it was due to sand. The car was running when i got in. When i got to my location, I noticed the key felt stuck in the ignition. I started calling the local orlando office and customer service but there as no answer. I drove it a few times more then the ignition would not turn over. I called the Miami office and Emma told me if the steering wheel was in locked position the car wouldn’t start and since i didnt purchase the rental insurance they wouldnt come get the car. I found i had to carefully force the key in the ignition to start the car. I just wanted to get the car back to easirent. So i rode with others the remainder of the trip.

Awful service, I will never rent with them again. The guy at the office was slow and rude. I had to pay £120 additional as they requested a credit card for the deposit that I didn't have. They didn't mention it before. It took 2h to get my car. The car was already all scratched with barely any fuel inside. Run away!!

I have let everyone I know about this scam of a company and have left numerous reviews to help warn others. I cancelled a 2-week car hire - Newcastle airport branch with "Easirent" (an oxymoron...) and they offered no refund, no aplogy, no customer service. I consider it as outright theft... Avoid their enticing offers as they will slam you later for other costs such as insurance or "damage" to the vehicle.

Car hire that never happened and a refund that was impossible to obtain due to a total absence of customer service in Belfast Airport branch. They failed to supply a car, then denied phoning us about it, marked us as "No show", refused to do anything about the refund and the local manager treated us with total contempt. Do not fall for their low prices - you will have to pay for it later! Avoid at all cost.

Crooks. Belfast Int’ Airport - grubby little men in a grubby little cabin a drive away from the terminal. A delay in them picking us up was followed by a problem with them releasing the car. We waited over an hour to pick up the dirty car that was warning us of overdue oil & service. My 2 year old was so upset and tired that check out was rushed. Keith, one of team asked me to highlight all the scratches and damage to the car so that he could mark it down on a clean diagram of the car. He offered no input. Baby now screaming. There was lots of minor paintwork issues and the car was dirty so I did the best I could under the circumstances. I drove away feeling like I was being set up...of course I was. Returned a week later and a different, patronising guy checked the car back in and suspiciously went straight to a tiny (tiny!) abrasion to the lower edge of the drivers side door. There is no way I caused this damage. Missing this tiny mark to the paint work at check out cost me £170. Other customers were loudly complaining to these fraudsters while I was in their dirty little office - please avoid using them - this is clearly all part of their business model... they’re the cheapest at face value. I have started formal complaint and chargeback proceedings and urge anyone reading this to use one of the other, reputable rental firms.

Avoid this company! Don't believe for one minute that its cheaper than any other company. By the time they've screwed you for insurance, extra driver and petrol you end up paying the same. I have my own insurance which would be valid but they wanted to put a block of 1,500 GBP on my credit card. I have a debit card with and have sufficient funds in my bank account, but I don't have a credit card. They would not accept the debit card, my wife has a credit card, she was a named driver (already charged extra for that) but they wouldn't accept her card. The worst part is that the office is located on a trading estate off the airport. It took ages for the shuttle bus to come then you have a bus full if people all wanting cars at the same time. The same going back, drop off the car and wait ages for the bus to go back to the airport. The car was damaged and dirty with rubbish still in the car from the previous renter. I have rented with Hertz many times before, their service is a million times better than these jokers.

I have rent a car at Bristol Airport branch and it has been a complete nightmare! During the booking process with Rentalcars, I applied for a full protection cover insurance. Therefore, I didnt take any with easirent. During our short stay in UK, we had a flat tyre. Nightmare started (no mention to the unfriendly staff, the GPS and insurance options they intended to charge us when they were already paid, the broken key remote control, the never-received electronic rental agreement): - there was no spare tyre in the car! (which we could even pay since we had no insurance with them) - the standard contract term and conditions say: "24/7 Nationwide Breakdown Assistance: All Easirent Branches have national assistance should the renter require it in the unlikely event of a breakdown. You will be given the number and contact details at the time of rental" "16. b) When informed of a breakdown by the Hirer, to see that the necessary repairs are carried out promptly." "16. c) If repairs to the hired vehicle cannot be carried out promptly, to provide a substitute vehicle." However, when we informed easirent, the manager simply said "since you haven't taken any insurance with us, there is nothing we can do", and simply provide the public breakdown assistance number (RAC). We know we havent taken the insurance with easirent, and we didnt intend to charge easirent with anything, but they should have provide us with support as the contract stated. We had to do everything by ourselves, with RAC support, and it took us litteraly 20h... - when we brought back the car (tyre replaced under RAC supervision), we have been told that some amount will be taken from the deposit since the new tyre is a different brand from the initial one (Uniroyal instead of Nexen). However, this is absolutely not explicitately required in the contract (knowing that Uniroyal is a perfect professional and quality brand). Incredible! We have submited a complain and are waiting!
