Keep away from this Company. My experience of Easirent was so poor that I wrote to the national Guardian. My complaint was printed on Saturday 16 November. Having paid £48 for a three day hire I was required to pay £142 to reduce damage excess to zero. This was bad enough but on returning the car the agent immediately noticed a scuff mark on a wing mirror. I was assured that my insurance would cover any damage. The scam came when I was charged £62 as an admin charge. I wrote to the Company outlining my complaint but to no avail. I asked for a receipt for this admin charge but have heard nothing. The Guardian followed up but with no success. After negative interactions with Easirent the Guardian gave the following advice to its readers: "strongly urge you to look at its T&C and its long list of extra fees and charges . . . and take your business elsewhere"

Glasgow Airport Branch - I don’t think I would ever use this company again. It wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. First of all, I should say this was booked through a third party agent called rentalcars.com. Not directly with easirent. So the first thing was the pick up. I couldn’t hear the guy on the phone clearly when I phoned as I arrived at Glasgow airport. I was waiting in the pick up point and I should’ve been waiting in car park 2. We eventually connected, but shall we say there was a little bit of an atmosphere in the van going back to their location. So the location! It can best be described as being operated out of a Portakabin up a dirt track and inside an industrial site just on the outskirts of Paisley. Getting into their site you have to go through potholes and craters the size of those on the moon! I was then asked to check in on these machines which went disastrously wrong. I then realised that I did not have my passport with me and I did not have a utility bill with me though I did have them all electronically and digitally. Eventually when I got to check-in the chap said that because I didn’t have the paper copies of all the necessary documentation they couldn’t release the car via the original booking (which we had already paid for full insurance) They then informed me that the insurance already taken out wouldn’t cover me as I didn’t have all the documentation, but if I took out their insurance again they would let me have the car. Seeing as how I was abandoned in the middle of Paisley with no means to get to where I was going I was kind of over a barrel; so I had to pay £84 for two days fully comp insurance although we already had taken out insurance with a third party who we booked through. Eventually I got that to the car. It was a Honda Civic. It was filthy. Although I taken out fully comp insurance the car was covered in dints chips scratches. And actually, was is so dirty it would’ve taken me an hour or so to go around the car and fully note all of them. As I had full insurance it didn’t really matter so it was kind of skipped. The chap at she said to me “it doesn’t matter if you bring back half a car you’re fully insured”. When I got inside the car the car was filthy. The foot wells were full of mud and water which they’d put a put a piece of paper over the top and it too was covered in mud. I was told the car was full and I had to return it full. Over the two days I drove 54 miles. And when I came back to fill it up I had to put in £15 worth of fuel to fill it up. I had noticed the fuel gauge which was digital was one notch below the full mark and when I returned it, it was one notch above the full mark so the tank was by no means full when I go it. They also insist on seeing your petrol receipt to prove that you have filled up. I got dropped back at the airport no bother but to be honest with you I’ve never been so glad to finish my dealings with a company. When I was there I saw high pressure selling of insurance to people and just felt uneasy about the whole set up. I’ve used companies like Hertz enterprise dollar many many times from lots of different airports and I have never had an experience like this before in my life. If you don’t take out the insurance they hold £1500 on your credit card which I believe is the maximum they can charge... and reading some of the other reviews on various sites people have had money taken from the credit card for damage that was there when they picked up the car .... Although I got stung for £84 for paying for insurance twice and when I filled up the tank, reading some of the other reviews I think I got off quite lightly. Use at your peril. You have been warned. I think also reading some of the company replies to bad reviews speaks volumes in that slightly aggressive tone that whoever is writing them uses. For comments such as “I got charged for damage I didn’t do” the reply from the company is “it’s always a shame when our customers damage our cars.”………… You can read between the lines lines....

Worst company to deal with. They tell you one price which then charges you another price where you have no visibility of what you are being charged. Then they don’t give you a receipt or a contract, they purposely send it by email so you can only see later what they did and then when you confront them about it they keep on saying “you signed the contract”. Absolutely the most dishonest car hiring company I ever dealt with!!!

Awful Awful Awful company. Do not use. Positive reviews are lies. Hire from Budget or Hertz or any other company but Easirent. They just want as much money from your credit card. Beware.

Hired a car out through Ryanair. Fine paid extra insurance when hiring the car 50euro extra fully comprehensive happy days. Then it all went wrong such a job to get hold of them eventually got them collected the car was then asked for 2600 sterling now the car was fully insured online.ended up having to pay a extra 163 sterling extra for insurance.I am a bit confused thought I had paid for all insurance online how come they wanted extra money. Never never will use this company again.very poor service. In my opinion scam merchants. To make things worse I was told at desk I had a full tank of fuel to use when I returned the car I was told to fill the car up or be charged.

Absolutely awful service. The plastic splash shield came off during driving (we didn't hit anything or damage the car so it must have been loose already) and they have taken the full payment of £1575 without even calling, emailing or texting us. When calling to find out more information, the first person had no clue as to what we were being charged for. When calling again, the second person couldn't even see a record therefore we are definitely being scammed for that amount here. The service is so untrustworthy and we still don't know what is happening with that huge payment. Please do not use them.

Be extremely vigilant when dealing with Sunny Cars as you may end up with Easirent who will scam you. I booked a car rental through Sunny Cars and ended up with these con artists!! They tell customers that their card does not cover the excess amount so that they then HAVE TO pay extortionate additional insurance cover charges! OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO HIRE THE CAR!! When I queried the non-return of my ‘deposit’ (as I was led to believe!) by Easirent with Sunny Cars they told me that I had ‘opted’ to take out unnecessary additional ‘full’ insurance cover when I could have been refunded by them for any amounts deducted by Easirent from my deposit in the event of any damage having been caused! Nothing 'optional' about any of what occurred however when I tried to procure the vehicle!!! None of this excess/additional insurance cover was explained by the Easirent representative with any degree of clarity at the time of collection. I was told that my credit card 'did not work' and that I would thus have to pay an additional 'deposit' of £126 in order to PROCURE the vehicle. The 'credit card' in question is a corporate American Express so to claim it would not work for the excess amount of £1,500 is ludicrous. Given that this occurred late at night in the middle of an industrial estate and that my young daughter was present I agreed to the ‘deposit’ charge in order to procure the vehicle and get my family out of there. Had I thought for one moment however that this enormous sum in excess of €150 (and termed 'deposit') would not be refunded upon return of the vehicle in pristine condition I would never have gone ahead with the hire. I have hired many many cars over the years and have NEVER had an issue such as this. The car rental price including insurance has always been just that...the car rental cost including insurance!!! To think it normal to pay an additional insurance cover charge of €151.97 on a car hire of €62 quite frankly beggars belief! This entire experience has been below board and shady but I see from other conned customers that this is par for the course for this company. I only wish I had read those reviews prior to dealing with this shady operation and known that I would end up paying minimum 4 times the amount I assumed!! Why is it that no other car hire company I have ever dealt with has insisted upon payment of insurance cover 3 times the cost of hiring the car in the first place?! THIS IS A SCAM!

Absolutely horrendous. We've rented with easirent before and had no issue, but never through Luton. We booked a cat b car and were given an a, with only 4 seats instead of 5. The man who gave us the car pointed out a few small surface scratches and insisted he didn't need to write then down as they could not have a nail put in them. Upon our return they claimed one of these very same scratches was deep and we would be charged £195 for it. The manager was ignorant, rude and would not accept anything we said, he refused to discuss this with me as the car was in my partner's name, he laughed at me when I stated I would make a complaint to head office. Absolutely atrocious, never again!

What a bunch of criminals. Having printed the paperwork for the booking, it did not detail that this company will not accept digital credit cards. They then asked us to pay 386 pounds extra to make the problem go away, which I didn´t have. My 9 year old daughter and I were then left at midnight, stuck in the middle of a pitch black industrial estate. We eventually got a taxi back to Stoke on Trent costing 99.90 pounds. The couple in front of us in the que, were also asked to pay extra for another reason and were exceptionally upset, but paid the extra. I have rented cars all my life and have never encounted such cowboy practices. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A BARGE POLE.

This was my first experience with Easirent and it will be my last. I booked a Ford focus at Cork Airport but on arrival I was offered a Honda Jazz in poor condition. I protested but was told there was nothing eise unless I paid for an upgrade. I took the Jazz but after about 10 mins 3 warning lights came on on the dash board. I returned to the office and was told that it was nothing really and that they would go off after a while !! I was being given a car that would not have passed the MOT at that time . I was amazed by the attitude . I said I did not want the car and could I please be returned to the airport to try to rent from another company. I was about to leave when I was told I could have the Renault Captur which was available at no extra charge. I accepted that. I did not take extra insurance as I have an annual rental policy to cover any excess. I returned the car today ( a day early without any refund unlike other rental companies which do give a refund) and as far as I am concerned without any damage. I have never had to pay any excess for damage to any rental company. I could not believe when I was told there was a scratch on the plastic bumper UNDER the car and it would cost me 300 euro plus an admin fee of 75 euro. This is outrageous. Firstly I think that scratch was probably there before I took the car. Unless one gets down and looks right under the car it is impossible to see it. I did inspect before I took the car but I did not peer under the bumper under the car to check for scratches. This is a petty and unfair extra charge. It is unacceptable and is not practised by reputable car rental companies. Normal wear and tear is to be expected and a small scratch underneath the car on the bumper certainly comes into that category. I do not wish to highlight this practice but I feel I need to warn other prople off using Easi-rent as this sort of underhand charging appears to be their policy.

I would avoid Easirent at all costs. When collecting the car in the dark their agent looked and assured me that there was no damage. I caused no damage but on return they found a number of minute scratches and charged me an excessive amount (several hundred pounds) DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Terribile. Prima pessima esperienza con noleggio auto. Se non avete un massimale carta di credito che copre almeno 2.000 dovete farvi assicurazione aggiuntiva per ridurre cauzione. Provano in tutti i modi a venderti assicurazioni aggiuntive. 50 minuti di attesa per il trasporto in aeroporto con rischio perdita volo. Ogni cliente presente in quei 50 minuti di attesa si è Lamentato. Mai più.

I arrived in Manchester from New Zealand via Frankfurt on 9th February 2020, my flight one of the many that was late or cancelled owing to storm Ciara. We waited almost an hour for the transfer bus, having phoned the office twice to tell them that we were waiting. On arrival the desk bloke asked why we were late (storm/flight/waiting for transfer bus) Apparently in the very immoral small print is a get out clause if you arrive over 59 minutes late. This allows the company to claim that they do not have your booked car anymore, but can offer you an ‘upgrade’ for £25 per day. Oh and they needed to hold £1600 on my credit card for potential damages!!! When I pointed out that I had paid extra for full cover I was told that “the full cover voucher” isn’t worth the paper that it’s printed on. I challenged that I had booked it through their own website, I was told no, it’s a separate company that have a link from the Easirent website. At this point I searched for a better option and left the office, with no car and out of pocket for a legitimate booking that I had made. I can only imagine that any positive feedback for these rogues are from friends and family as all the negative ones seem consistent with my experience. DONT DO IT.

Took payment on debit card and when turned up insisted that I needed a credit card. Then proceeded to charge a additional non refundable deposit from my debit card which was 200% more than the initial agreed contract. Also no where on website does it mention the fee charges for additions. Felt like I was on an episode of 'the real hustle'! Will not be using again.

I would advise anyone to avoid this company as they are complete scammers. Booked and prepaid for a car in their Edinburgh branch only to find we had been scammed out of £95 extra for no reason at all! When we objected after returning home we got absolutely no satisfactory explanation. They are the worst company we have ever had the misfortune to deal with and NEVER AGAIN!

If I could give easirent a zero I would. Please do NOT ignore the bad reviews. I did, and like so many others, ended up having to lose my deposit as easirent refused my booking without taking out about 300 pounds worth of extra insurance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
