Avoid selling on eBay, if you have a issue just suck it up because it’s sooooo difficult to deal with their useless customer service and it takes forever to get the slightest amount of information (which is always miscommunicated) none of them have a clue! Just give up and spend that 2 hours talking to a brick wall instead it’s way more productive.

EBAY is unresponsive. we should be able to make an old-fashioned phone call and talk with a non-A.I. person. this company is riddled with inconveniences and errors.

Last year, I sold a very expensive item through Ebay. I had bought a robot arm off Kickstarter and ended up never using it. So it was brand new, except one of three boxes had been open. I ended up listing it on Ebay, and slowly reduced the price until someone showed interest. I had paid $2000 for the robot arm, but ended up selling it for $1500, which also included $100 of shipping, plus Ebay's $200 cut, so all told I made about $1200. I shipped it. A few weeks later I heard back from the buyer that some components were broken, others were missing. I told him it wasn't broken when I sent it, so he should contact Fedex to place a claim. In addition the missing component was part of the unopen box, so he should contact the manufacturer. A long argument ensued, and for a few reasons I started suspecting a scam. Regardless, he asked for a refund, and I denied it, so he opened a dispute with Ebay. Ebay immediately asked me to reimburse the item and send him a return shipping label, which I also again denied, sending them all the evidence I had linking this case to potential scam. It all went silent for months. Never once did they reach out to me asking for clarification. Then, 9 months after the sale, I got an email telling me they would debit my account for the full amount. While I had received €1051, they debited my account for €1286 (I sold the item in the US but my account is in euro). So not only did they refund the buyer without asking them to send back the item, they also took more money than I originally made. I made many attempts to reach their customer service to get this solved. I did reach it, but "there was nothing they could do". The one time I magically made it through to someone on the dispute team I was told that they had never seen so many escalations on a case. I was hopeful, but the next day I received another email saying they were maintaining the decision. They recommended I speak with the buyer to get the product back. I told them that 1) I couldn't access my account (they recommended I just open another one) and 2) the buyer had sold the item according to his reviews (for $15, when he bought it for $1500). All it all, this was my first time selling after being a buyer for 15 years, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Their processes are obscure and unfair. No wonder the company is slowly sinking.

Ebay used to have genuine sellers not anymore selling overpriced items that have obviously been bought from charity shops some items not even ironed a few years ago you could buy nice things at a good price not any more shame it has come to this

Kept my selling money for 10 days giving absolute rubbish reasons for the " Hold " on the account. Buyer paid promptly , EVRI picked up as scheduled & delivered 4 days later. Statement from Ebay followed giving the various reaons for the hold. How many customers money is fraudently held on these pretences earning Ebay no doubt a lot of money in interest !! DO NOT USE try gumtree instead.

I have been an eBay seller/buyer since 2007 with 💯 positive reviews from 900 customers. Last sale made me to cancel the eBay account as I see they promote the fraudulent transaction. I reported this particular buyer as a fraudulent misrepresentation of facts and eBay still is holding my money until the item is returned. It’s been weeks and I have not reviewed the item. My policy is “no returns” all communication was via eBay and they sided with the bogus claim from the buyer. I have wasted money and time to a policy of eBay which provides for a fraud to take priority over truth

Ebay constantly reports items shipped when all the shipper has done is submitted a tracking number. That is intentional fraud on ebay's part. Shipped means that a shipping entity has received it. Always has, always will. Ebay admits it when it issues a refund for an item it listed as "shipped" which never subsequently got any tracking data or was ever received, which has happened for me a number of times.

Not even a 1 star for management and customer service!! Waited 1 whole month to release my money for an item that I sold, met the buyer the same day a month ago for collection of this item because it wasn't exactly his property because I met him the funds where held until postage was confirmed. The buyer gave me positive feedback straight away and marked as collected. After speaking with one customer advisor she had told me not to worry she can see its been collected and that I've had no issues in the last 12 years of selling so told me my funds would be with me within 24hours. Ringing back 24 hours later funds still not there, apparently this was denied by ebay when the last adviser tried to release it for me. Speaking with several other advisors over the next few weeks has been manic, no one to tell me why this has happened and nothing they could do to overwrite it, ebay and its payment hold team are a shame to the company what do they even do in their offices if they can't handle my numerous complaints I've raised. I have sold for 12 years I'm not a continuous seller as they always tell me this could be why but I'm a trusted seller with 100 stars so I've been told if you don't sell hundreds a month then your payments are likely to be on hold, unfair and treat differently to other sellers NOT ON. Iam in the process of complaining to the ombudsman because I'm not letting this go I want compensation. £217 to wait a month when I needed this to live is beyond a joke, it's not just £17!!!

Ebay has a habit of removing listings for items that have clear pictures and receipts posted, ebay deletes them claiming they are counterfit. when you call it can take days to get a response. They cannot give you a decent answer for removing the items. They will give you adise on what you have to do to keep it from happening and when you do what they tell you to do they will still remove your listings. In one week they removed 26 of my Authentic listings that had receipts posted. Then they tell you if you repost them (ever) your account will be suspended. Ebay has become a very very very bad place to sell your items on. SELLERS BEWARE!!!!

Complimenti!

Update - after speaking to an Ebay rep they refunded the fee for cancelling the auction. I had contacted them about the wrong price being entered and they said to cancel the auction and small fee would be assessed. They did not tell me that all I had to do is go to 'site map' at the bottom of the page and chose cancel bids and then cancel the auction and redo it. No fee for that. Since I asked for advice from Ebay, had the message they sent, and the only advice given made sure I paid a fee, I was refunded. Really not appropriate behavior from staff. I did complain that for a tech driven company their website is very confusing and hard to find things. If sitemap is where you can see everything it should be under MyEBAY dropdown.

This company is ridiculous. They have a platform that is confusing forcing you to do an auction and if the item you are selling is no longer available due to damage you are charged. I will not use them again to sell anything ever again. Wish I had read reviews before I got charged 67.-- for removing a listing.

I've used eBay for over 10 years, but it's all gone horribly wrong recently. They have always charged high fees, but I put up with that. Last year they ditched PayPal, so you had to set up a direct debit so they deal directly with your bank account. First problem was they started taking money from my account when no fees were due. I contacted them, but they denied it despite evidence from bank statements. Then they started offering a delivery service via Evri and Packlink offering much cheaper rates than Royal Mail. I then received emails several months after posting items saying I had underpaid and owed them money - usually double the original fee. Then in December, they started losing parcels. Buyers understandably wanted refunds, which eBay paid out and then tried to deduct from my bank account - despite it being their delivery service which lost the items. I tried to call customer services, got though to a recorded message, and was charged £14.80 for the call. Enough is enough. Not using eBay again.

eBay books "We have given your package to an eBay partner, 7 days ago - it has a USPS tracking number but USPS does not show it has been handed to them yet - your package will arrive at your Post Office some time in the next two weeks." What my LAST EVER book order from eBay looks like!
