“The eBay money back guarantee is junk. What it’s supposed to do and how I used it: It’s supposed to instill a level of trust so that you can quickly make a purchase for something that you would otherwise spend more time thinking about or may not purchase at all. You think, there’s some slight risk, but eBay has my back. What actually happens: I bought a pair of New Air Jordans. There was no defect noted in the description, but pics were limited. So I bought. The sneakers passed the authenticity check, but when I got them there was a big black blemish on them and the texture was also worn down. I notified eBay right away, followed their process, and sent them detailed photos. They basically told me that I’m stuck with them and they won’t do anything because from their perspective they passed authenticity check and the seller has no returns marked. Two problems here .. 1) there is no sense of quality check with the authenticity check and 2) even though their policy says the money back guarantee has you covered for sellers that don’t accept returns, they will not honor it. Shop with caution. You may get swindled .. by a seller and by eBay.”

“They have no time for sellers. All protection is for the buyers. You can create claims of damage without proof, write lies in the feedback and ebay will do NOTHING. I have been lied about before and ebay have done nothing but stand behind the feedback.”

“EBay plays god!! Sold item for £70 eBay took £10 I used my last £15 to pay for next day delivery. Almost a week my bank is still in over draft eBay hold the funds. I have removed all my listings and next I will be taking legal action against eBay. DO NOT SELL ON EBAY UNLESS YOU ARE RICH!”

“Listed an item large item as collection only, buyer paid and didnt realise. Asked me to cancel. noticed that the refund amount was more than the sale. Ebay told me I dont get the 30p listing fee refunded and theres nothing i can do about it. I felt that the representative wasnt polite on the call either. The thing that made it worse is that because they had initiated the payout for the item, it hadnt reached my account so they was unable to refund directly. Therefore to cancel the order I had to add a debit card and pay by that. Overall very unhappy with how they are now”

“I'm a businessman and my company rely's on accurate product and seller information. after numerous screwed up orders and ripp offs I refused to do any more business with them for years. a few months ago I received an email from ebay saying that they have made a lot of changes to their system to prevent fraud and theft. This is my second order since receipt of said email and already I'm dealing with fraud. the selling party has already lied and did not have the product he was selling in his possession and the product has been delayed past the point of my vacation departure, and since they chose to notify me that returns and cancelations are not available only after the order was placed, I feel really defrauded now and don't want to buy a second item nearer to me to go on vacation with. Buyer beware I spent hours online to find the product here in the United States and shipping dates to correlate with my planes. Thanks EBAY I see you still allow tricksters to operate in your relm with impunity. I can't even get a tracking number because apparently the product shows it hasn't even shipped yet.”

“I Joined Ebay way back in 1997 . I'm one of the original customers. I sold an item this past weekend, and Ebay charged me 12.5% of my FInal Sale. I wasn't aware of this until after I completed my sale. Absolutely rediculous. Going forward, I will never sell anything on Ebay ever again. This is obsurd, and again , absolutely Unacceptable. I also feel bad for the people that sell items that are in expensive. If you sell something for 10$, and ebay gets 12.5% of this sale, and it costs the seller say - 5$ to ship the item to the buyer. . . . . WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE ? ! I Hope people learn from my post, and never use Ebay for Selling ! It's a complete rip off. It's not worth it. Trust me. I've been a customer since the beginning of Ebay.”

“Ebay only makes money from Sellers. So when sellers rip you off or fraud or lie, Ebay will side with them on every appeal. They DO NOT guarantee anything. They say they do but when you try and collect they side with Seller. And if you think using PayPal helps, it does not. Paypal will side with EBAY on every decision they make, so you have NO RECOURSE. It is a big scam and I would not use unless you are prepared to get ripped off and take the loss. Too bad, it used to be a pretty good place, now they make Craigslist look like a safe place.”

“I purchased an item from yntworthyshop19 on EBay. The product cost almost £50. I used it twice, after that it failed to change. I contacted the company but they didn’t respond. I then contacted eBay who said that there was nothing they could do because it had been more than 30 days. Just wanted to warn anyone who is considering buying an electrical item from eBay; it’s not worth it. I would especially avoid yntworthyshop19. If you buy from a store you get 12 months warranty.”
