Ordered a hybrid bike online. Sizing listed was totally inaccurate compared to the sizing on the bike frame so the bike was too large to be useable. Evans view is that this is only a guide so they can't be held responsible for the inaccurate information and that I can return it to store or via a courier at my own cost for a refund or exchange. Impossible to find a courier who would accept the dimensions of the package and store is miles away from my house so neither were viable options. Would never order again from this company.

I ordered from Evans cycles as they were the provider for my cycle to work scheme. I brought a bike for over £2,000 and the customer service has been worse than useless. My bike eventually arrived (well outside of the ‘latest estimated delivery’ date ) with several faults and no information regarding completing the tubeless set up, which may or may not have been partially completed. It is impossible to get a response from anyone and the chat function is worse than useless. When I got a response to an email, I was told to take it to a local bike shop (20 miles away). Really fed up now, it would have been far better to have brought from a local bike shop who may have cared about customer service and providing the information needed to complete the set up and rectifying the faults. Very poor service from the point of sale, delivery and quality of the bike build for such a high value item.

Ordered a bike on the internet as my son needed it for bike ability course. The order would not arrive in time, so phoned the Stockport store and the man i spoke to said to phone Customer Services and they would be able to cancel it and they had the same bike in store and i could buy it form there. Phoned CS and was assured that the order was cancelled (and i have the confirmation email from Owen) and the money would not come out of my account. Got a text this morning to say the order would be delivered into the store today. Checked my account and the money went out - twice. One for the online order and one for the store order. Got an arrogant CS bloke and he said i would have to wait for the refund and they didn't cancel the order and per the T&C's it was my fault. NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE

Went into the shop at Stockport for some advice and to make purchase for a handle bar stem. I wasn't sure of the sizes so I took the bike with me. The guy behind the counter was totally unhelpful, he really didn't want to go out of his way! I had the bike with me but he would even walk down the shop to look at it. I then went to Decathlon and got sorted by the bike mechanic straight away and saved myself £4.

Ordered bike was delivered very quick. Bike had different parts than advertised with the breaks been far cheaper. Sent back to get the corrent parts but on but was told all parts are subject to change. Very bad when they can take off £150 breaks and put on £50 ones and sell you at normal price.

I've had support from Evans cycles at Leeds, Barnsley & Sheffield. In each case the staff were more than helpful & aimed to deliver the best service they could. They have helped with bike setup & fitting mudguards & advice & orders via the cycle to work scheme. Very commendable & would recommend

Sell new bikes with many faults and then refuse to pay for return postage back.

Very often they send a wrong item if you order online. Very bad customer service. Looks like website doesn't have "out of stock" option and when you make order it doesn't tell you that item is available but they confirm purchase and they send you completely different item. Misleading product photos and description. Not happy as well with their in store service as a Trek dealer.

Evans cycles used to be great, then Mike Ashley took over and ruined the brand. It should have been left to go bust. I have bought all my bikes from Evans, and have just bought my last. I went to the store believing I would get advice and when I ordered the bike it would be built and ready to ride away. I bought a few accessories, pedals, panniers, lock etc. I got the email to say my bike was at the store and to give them 48 hours to get the bike ready. I gave them 4 days. I went into the store to be met with three people, one was working on a bike, one on his mobile and one by the tills. After so stood there for a few minutes, nobody else in the store, I was asked if they could help. My bike was brought out, without any of the accessories. Bars still in folded position and I was handed my receipt. I was wearing cycling gear, carrying a helmet. I asked if the accessories could be fitted and they said that packages for customers cannot be opened. It was not until I took a multi tool from the counter and started to assemble the bike and fit the accessories myself in the store that someone offered to put the pedals on. Never again, do not use them. They deserve to go under!

Purchased a pannier from Evans Cycles, no issue with product, however their use of Hermes as a courier for me has let down the overall customer experience. No firm delivery date (2 texts) and final confirmation of date and time on the day it was delivered, 9days after the purchase. Try leaving a review of the item along with delivery experience on Evans site and it's blocked! Will not use this company again until their courier is changed.

I ordered a small folding bike online. It was delivered in a ridiculously large and tatty box, not the original packaging. The manufacturer's documentation was missing. I soon found evidence that the bike had already been repaired. Customer service reply to my emails with evasion. I wish I'd chosen a more honest and decent supplier. I won't be buying from Evans again.

One star to many! I'm fuming with you guys , why the hell have you taken £171.98 twice out of my account for one order! Can't phone you because there's no number to ring , emails are automated reply, can't even do a Web chat with you because it's all drop down links so you can't relate to any of the problems. I need this sorting promptly. This side of Christmas and your drawing out an extra £171.98 when you have no right. 😡. My money needs putting back NOW

I gave an honest review on evans site but they wouldn't publish it! This company are disgraceful and dishonest for that. You can't just have reviews to suit you.

Where to start. I ordered two mountain bikes which came to a total if £9010. Bikes were both Delivered absolutely battered. Both bikes had scratches over it, missing bolts and a bent frame. Tried sending the bike back multiple times and the delivery driver never turned up. Third time lucky and the bike was picked up and was told it can take up to two weeks for them to receive broke bike. It’s now been months and I still don’t have a new working bike and they still have my money

These people are scammers sold something with missing items and refuse to send. Also sell items which are used. Found sanitary pads inside the bag

First, up the service, I received while trying to choose a bike was downright terrible, they gave no options, no questions, and simply stood there waiting for me to ask them everything. He then tried to sell me a bikeway over my price limit which he knew was £300. Before paying i then asked if it could be picked up by my wife the next day and he said yes, i then asked if the bike would be ready for when my wife picks up the bike on my behalf, he said 100%. I then reminded him that my wife will be taking time off work to pick up the bike on my behalf and to make sure that the bike was ready to collect, and gave him my mobile incase he could not have the bike ready. Of course, when my wife arrived this morning the bike was not ready as promised and they asked her to wait for an hour. She finally got the bike with no apology and no thank you. I see other people have left terrible reviews about this store, I regret now not checking them before i went to the store. Stay away guys and buy your bike from another store is my honest advice.

2 years in a row had nothing but issues with either items missing or faulty items. Customer service is shocking and don't care. If it wasn't my ride to scheme I would avoid. Woudnt recomment

Do not buy from Evans! What an utterly useless shop they are. I returned two Mercury 1 bikes that had been faulty from the outset. Both bikes did not hold a charge which was discovered after fully charging them, leaving them for a couple of weeks and finding the flat when we wanted to go out on them. The next time I left them on charge for a period of time which was enough for them to charge and discharge all in their own without being touched. Many owners like me will just leave them on charge until needed, well, you can’t do that with mine. You have a choice, buy from another supplier.

I have never received bike I ordered as damaged in transit. Evans (Sports Direct) refuse to refund me until bike has been returned to them, courier cant find bike. Have now reported them to citizens advice, trading standards, credit card company and luckily for us we have family member who is a business lawyer.
