Very poor customer service. I am still waiting for my helmet delivery (ordered instore 1 month ago). The store never picks up when I phone. The online service says the store will contact me but so far I have not heard anything.

Purchased Raleigh pioneer less than two months ago. Clicking through the pedals that has now got worse. We can no longer use the bike. Contacted Evans cycles through chat as phone line no longer seems to be available. Although they could supply a bike to my area there’s no aftersales support; I’m told to go to another dealer for a quote to put it right! Once they’ve sold you the bike it seems that there’s no such thing as a mobile service engine, hence you’re left to go it alone. Took the bike to Halfords and it seems the bottom bracket isn’t up to the job and will need to be replaced costing £40 - £50. A lesson to be learnt. Buy local and don’t use this crew!

Avoid Evans Cycles at all costs Purchased a Cannondale Topstone from Evans Cycles. The initial delivery was perfect, I have no complaints on that front. Within three months, the spokes in my rear wheel started to unlace themselves (While I was riding at full speed) and the integrity of my rear wheel was compromised. I took the bicycle to two local bike shops. Both shops decided to forego seeking profit and told me directly that this was either a manufacture or a build problem and Evans should simply provide me with a new rear wheel without much fuss. Instead, I was repeatedly fobbed off, lied to, blamed for the damage myself and sent copy and pasted images of the warranty policy when I replied. This process continued with both the customer service AND the warranty teams for weeks. I was also told 1.) That Evans refuse to take responsibility for the bike even though it was still clearly under one year warranty - and that they would only replace my wheel if Cannondale accepted liability and sent them a new wheel, which is an absolutely disgraceful way to do business and places Evans firmly in the category of businesses that act in bad faith towards their consumers. I was told 2.) Lies/guesses by customer service agents on multiple occasions (A couple of which Senior Customer Service Agents had to get involved, apologise for and attempt to rectify) Eventually, at the store manager level (Clapham High Street), my email was seen and a solution produced. Once the store manager, Oskar (Who was a great guy, absolutely on the ball and a credit to Evans) had seen my emails, he was able to solve the problem in under 36 hours, replace the wheel and call me to collect it - Weeks after they had initially refused to accept any liability or responsibility, Oskar was able to solve the problem efficiently and with great customer service, on his own. Evans has also DISCONTINUED THEIR COMPLAINTS TELEPHONE LINE which, again, is an absolute disgrace. And is the reason why I am writing this complaint on a public forum rather than delivering it directly to Evans. Without a shadow of a doubt, I can say that this is the worst, most insulting and most negligent customer service team that I have ever dealt with and I will not be purchasing my next bike from Evans

I NEVER BE SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY LIFE AND ANGRY 😠 ABOUT THE SERVICE & customer service standard . AVOID BUY IN EVANS PLUS THE DO PRICE MAYCH ANYMORE. I HAVE TO GO TO THE STORE TO TIMES TO JUST GET MY MONEY BACK. My name is Marcel Rodriguez. I am writing this letter to complain about receiving missing products from your company. I have ordered ENVE Foundation-Collection-65-Carbon-Tubeless-Disc-Wheelset on 6th June 2021. I was calling the store to find out the status of my order, they said it was delivered to the store on 21st June 2021. The store opened the wheelset and said there was only one wheelset delivered and blaming the DPD the courier. The customer service in store was unexpectable with lack of communication and have not been touch with the status on the order. There was no apologise and acknowledge an error was made. There was no communication with me, if the store was working to fix the mistake, and how long it will likely take to be resolved. It’s has been over a month of constant disappointment in what was happening. I would be grateful for you to fulfil my initial order or please refund the amount of my order and compensation Please refund the amount of my order and compensation. Yours Faithfully, Marcel Rodriguez

I recently purchased a bike for my step son for £429.99. On arrival it was apparent that the seat was too high and needing adjustment. My local store offered to do this and on arriving they attempted to set the bike up. At this time they were unable to fit the pedals and basically told me I had damaged the threads due to installing them incorrectly. I told them categorically I had not so much as touched the pedals! I had to return home and take it up with an online team. Their customer service was nothing short of abhorrent. Cocky, rude and obnoxious. Totally unwilling to offer a refund due to in their “opinion” I had damaged it. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 as I made them aware is based on fact and not “opinion”. I asked if they could prove it was not damaged on arrival, they couldn’t. I also asked for proof that this bike was not a return, they couldn’t. I found it impossible to make any progress even being refused a telephone number for head office. A section 75 is now my only option. And I’m now lumbered with a piece of expensive useless metal.

Evans Cycles seems to have a policy requiring customers to ask a member of staff before trying the weight of a bike, or of a number of different bikes. I'm not sure whether you need permission to even touch their bikes on display. Anyone thinking of spending a lot of money on a bike, especially if its weight is important, might be well advised to shop elsewhere.

They sent the wrong bike and after 2 weeks they are still not able to collect it. I am finding myself having this big box in my entrance. Forget the chat none of them are competent they just follow a process. The Worst customer service I know so far. It is better to buy a second-hand bike. On word to describe them 'BAD'

Appalling service both online and in store. No sense of customer care, close-to-complete incompetence, no training for staff, understaffed stores. I hope the chain and its stores are soon replaced by a proper bike retailer.

Within a day of ordering a bicycle I reached out to evanscycle in the only channel they support... email... to cancel the order because i changed my mind. I was told to simply reject delivery, the parcel will go back to them and i'll get a refund. Alas, their delivery company left the package outside my door, refused to take it in. I now have to be out of pocket to pay a courier firm to send back the product which i cancelled as early as 6 days before it even arrived!

I ordered a new gear cassette for my beloved Marin Bobcat bicyle for next day delivery. Waited for my order to arrive the following day but it did not arrive for another 3 days. What can I say…. Probably the worst next day delivery service I have ever received. I contacted the customer service team for an explanation and maybe compensation, but alas, they are not in this business to keep their customers happy. Needless to say I will shop elsewhere in the future. Their attitude to their customers maybe due to them now being part of the ‘Money Grabbing’ SPORTS DIRECT EMPIRE!!! Beware.

Made an order with this "lovely" company 2 weeks ago. Ordered bike and some accessories. Fast forward to today: bike hasn't arrived, no tracking updates for a week, and useless support who's only reply "we're sorry for inconvenience caused, we're waiting for courier to reply". They wait their partner courier to reply for a working WEEK! As my long holidays (which I ordered bike for) are now ruined, they deny me in refund, saying that they can't refund me because they don't know where the bike is. This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs if you value your time.

Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. An order can't be updated at all once submitted so you have to wait for it to arrive then pay to post it back. Who knows what happens if the address is wrong!? Delivery is an 8 hour window and no communication. Shocking.

I ordered a cycle after lots of research and opted for a bike of around £1K. Ordered online in plenty of time for it to arrive before weekend plan (3 weeks) but the bike never arrived. Tracking wasn't working on the delivery firm and eventually the bike was located and apparently "damaged in transit" so then was returned. By which time the bike was out of stock. I asked evens to refund me so that I could order elsewhere but wouldn’t until the received their cycle back. Considering that I have never received it I wasn't able to get the money back. for a further 10 days. It felt like being held to ransom until the courier could be bothered to complete the return. I had pre-booked a hire car for my trip and wasn't able to get the money back from that either. So very disappointed with Evans. The response I got from customer services was "like I said, you'll get the refund but not until we get the bike back" like it's something I can influence - Obviously i'm just a customer so the lowest part of the sales cycle... (no pun)

I purchased a mountain bike to the value of £975 and when it’s arrived it was faulty and incorrect size. I contacted them within 48 hours and return the bike to their Sheffield warehouse on the 12/04/21. I then tried to contact their customer service team on at least 25 separate occasions with no success. I was asking the confirmation they had received the bike and when I would get my refund within the 14 working days. All I got back was automated answers ask him to send a photo and to tell them what the fault is, evenness though I’d already sent the bike back to them. They have now had the bike back for one month and I still have not received my refund. It is my most bad luck that I picked such a woeful company to purchase my bike and I will not be making this mistake ever again. I wouldn’t even purchase a puncher kit from Evans cycles Who are owned by sports direct which says it all. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced and even the store in Stockport didn’t help passing the buck onto customer services and not taking responsibility even though the manager said he would look into this for me time and time again. Take my advice and do not purchase anything from this company especially online as you will live to regret it. I’m currently going through the claims process with my bank in order to get my money back from this company.

Worst online ordering setup I've seen. Can't change the order at all, including address! Just have to wait for it to arrive then send it back (at your own cost)... All further complicated if you're on the cycle to work scheme. Terrible customer support, no contact number. AVOID.

Customer service is awful. Avoid! If your bike arrives and works out of the box then great. If not, consign yourself to hours of torment. Given the generic products they sell all they offer is customer service - hence the one star review.

Evans Cycles will tell you on webchat from day 3 of ordering the bike that the courier has the bike. You will go round in circles Dx my courier must of been rang 15 tines to be told Evans hasn't dispatched it As the days go by webchat ie Jacob Nathan Dan Ami will keep telling you its been dispatched and show you a screen shot. Then emailing Evans customer service tell you a different story. I wont go in to my dealings with Evans its on Trust pilot if you wanted to look under Nigel. This was the most stressful time of my life dealing with them. I will never buy a bike or enter a Evans shop again.

The issue here was that the information sent over email confirming order dispatch was not aligned with reality. this could well be a ticketing system processing orders from the website, cleared funds then the warehouse having a target to process orders. Purchased on the 06.04 with a dispatch notice received on the 10.04 stating anticipated delivery 12.04. The couriers website DX doesn't track which can be extremely disheartening. The stated dispatch email was not correct. I spoke with Evans through their on line chat daily from the 12.04. On the 14.04 the staff member tracked the bike to the warehouse and confirmed the following day it had been picked up by DX the courier. Arrived this morning at 07:30 with a call from the driver. If there was no information detailed above, things may have been less worrisome. All in all, i got my bicycle in 9 days from purchase over the bank holiday and the help desk were helpful. The 4 star is honest, their IT system could well be what is lacking and causing concern as it did for myself. My Specialised arrived pristine, slight adjustment to the front derailleur was needed but in fairness, in the grander scheme of things with current climate of non-normal times. Most of the drama was from me believing everything i read on reviews. Wasn't at all bad. Very happy chap with my shiny new bicycle
