I ordered a new gear cassette for my beloved Marin Bobcat bicyle for next day delivery. Waited for my order to arrive the following day but it did not arrive for another 3 days. What can I say…. Probably the worst next day delivery service I have ever received. I contacted the customer service team for an explanation and maybe compensation, but alas, they are not in this business to keep their customers happy. Needless to say I will shop elsewhere in the future. Their attitude to their customers maybe due to them now being part of the ‘Money Grabbing’ SPORTS DIRECT EMPIRE!!! Beware.

Made an order with this "lovely" company 2 weeks ago. Ordered bike and some accessories. Fast forward to today: bike hasn't arrived, no tracking updates for a week, and useless support who's only reply "we're sorry for inconvenience caused, we're waiting for courier to reply". They wait their partner courier to reply for a working WEEK! As my long holidays (which I ordered bike for) are now ruined, they deny me in refund, saying that they can't refund me because they don't know where the bike is. This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs if you value your time.

Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. An order can't be updated at all once submitted so you have to wait for it to arrive then pay to post it back. Who knows what happens if the address is wrong!? Delivery is an 8 hour window and no communication. Shocking.

I ordered a cycle after lots of research and opted for a bike of around £1K. Ordered online in plenty of time for it to arrive before weekend plan (3 weeks) but the bike never arrived. Tracking wasn't working on the delivery firm and eventually the bike was located and apparently "damaged in transit" so then was returned. By which time the bike was out of stock. I asked evens to refund me so that I could order elsewhere but wouldn’t until the received their cycle back. Considering that I have never received it I wasn't able to get the money back. for a further 10 days. It felt like being held to ransom until the courier could be bothered to complete the return. I had pre-booked a hire car for my trip and wasn't able to get the money back from that either. So very disappointed with Evans. The response I got from customer services was "like I said, you'll get the refund but not until we get the bike back" like it's something I can influence - Obviously i'm just a customer so the lowest part of the sales cycle... (no pun)

I purchased a mountain bike to the value of £975 and when it’s arrived it was faulty and incorrect size. I contacted them within 48 hours and return the bike to their Sheffield warehouse on the 12/04/21. I then tried to contact their customer service team on at least 25 separate occasions with no success. I was asking the confirmation they had received the bike and when I would get my refund within the 14 working days. All I got back was automated answers ask him to send a photo and to tell them what the fault is, evenness though I’d already sent the bike back to them. They have now had the bike back for one month and I still have not received my refund. It is my most bad luck that I picked such a woeful company to purchase my bike and I will not be making this mistake ever again. I wouldn’t even purchase a puncher kit from Evans cycles Who are owned by sports direct which says it all. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced and even the store in Stockport didn’t help passing the buck onto customer services and not taking responsibility even though the manager said he would look into this for me time and time again. Take my advice and do not purchase anything from this company especially online as you will live to regret it. I’m currently going through the claims process with my bank in order to get my money back from this company.

Worst online ordering setup I've seen. Can't change the order at all, including address! Just have to wait for it to arrive then send it back (at your own cost)... All further complicated if you're on the cycle to work scheme. Terrible customer support, no contact number. AVOID.

Customer service is awful. Avoid! If your bike arrives and works out of the box then great. If not, consign yourself to hours of torment. Given the generic products they sell all they offer is customer service - hence the one star review.

Evans Cycles will tell you on webchat from day 3 of ordering the bike that the courier has the bike. You will go round in circles Dx my courier must of been rang 15 tines to be told Evans hasn't dispatched it As the days go by webchat ie Jacob Nathan Dan Ami will keep telling you its been dispatched and show you a screen shot. Then emailing Evans customer service tell you a different story. I wont go in to my dealings with Evans its on Trust pilot if you wanted to look under Nigel. This was the most stressful time of my life dealing with them. I will never buy a bike or enter a Evans shop again.

Awful customer service. I was informed that my order had been collected by the courier and I could expect delivery in about 3 working days. However the courier did not have the order. Evans said that to investigate it could take up to 7 working days. Not only do they lie to their customers but they work at snail pace!

One of the worst buying experiences imaginable. I bought a bike online shortly before Christmas for my 12 year old. The back brake was defective. Online return is a nightmare, so I took it to my nearest store in Sutton to be examined. The Evans employee I dealt with there was rude, obnoxious and despite him admitting that the back brake was defective, he only gave me one option - have the bike fixed under the warranty which he said could take up to 12 months! My son will have grown out of the bike by the time it's useable! Moreover, why should my son have no bike for the duration of time it takes for it to be fixed under the warranty when it was defective inthe first place? I should be entitled to a full refund on the basis the bike is defective. When I asked for his name to take it up with head office, he gave me a false name and slammed the phone down on me. I know it is a false name as when I went to the Sutton store to collect the defective bike I was told no one by the name of Jeremiah works in the Sutton store. Taking the issue up with customer services has been a waste of time. They don't seem to care that their staff have lied to or have treated a customer shambolically - they just stall and do nothing. Awful. Avoid buying from this company at all costs.

No bike 20 days after ordering. No response to emails sent to customer service. Coming up to second payment on the cycle to work scheme with only a back light to illuminate the whole situation.

I bought a pair of tyres on Saturday £100 at Evans Cycles Edinburgh branch. Tried to fit them to my carbon wheels, absolutely impossible and I have fitted many tyers with no issues. So I took them back for a refund as I thought Evans Cycles are a reputable company. Well how wrong I was, I was told I could only get a credit note and this had been the case for months and they only give refunds on clothing. So buyers be aware, needless to say I will not be going back and fortunately there are lots of customer friendly cycle shops out there to choose from.

I recently purchased a GBP5k eMTB. The bike was sold to me as a MY21. As Evans do not ship e bikes outside the UK I asked fir the bike to be delivered to a freight forwarder. I received a MY 20 bike. When I queried, I was flatly told that this should have been checked in the UK. My order was from Dubai. No compensation and super poor customer service orientation. Stay away from these thugs!

This is a disgraceful company, I would avoid. If your company has a cycle to work scheme with them I suggest writing to the manager of the scheme (I already did and switching plans are underway) and switch to Halfords, they are a lot better! This is based on my experience with Halfords through my previous company’s cycle to work scheme. My experience with Evans. I ordered a bike through my current employer’s cycle to work scheme. The bike took 2-3 weeks to come, and when it came it was the wrong bike! It’s as though they just picked another type and size of the same model because they ran out of stock, disgraceful! The driver just dump it at my building’s ground floor with a massive box. I then tried again and again to liaise with customer service for a collection and resend the correct bike. They said I need to keep this massive box or else I cannot return it! And the earliest they can book me in is 2 days later. 2 days past, no news. I contacted customer service again, they said they screwed up and no one booked me in. And said will do it now for collection 2 days later. Again 2 days have past and no news. And now the customer service rep which I was liaising via email decides to just ignore email. 2 days later still no news. I have this massive box and bike sitting in my flat, causing inconvenience and frustration. This is disgraceful business practice! I would avoid at all cost!

Very disappointed. Bought a new bike had it delivered and the brakes was set up wrong and grinding on one side. The paint was chipped off around the crank. The seat post was scratched. The gears wasn’t set up properly and couldn’t select the largest crank and the brake levers braking distance totally different front to back. The spoke guard was hanging off, all of this on a bike costing over £1000 I wouldn’t buy from evenscycles again as all bike are meant to be set up and checked before they are sent out to customers??!!

WARNING! DO NOT BUY A BIKE FROM EVANS CYCLES, especially using Cycle Scheme. I have never experienced such poor customer service, incompetence and stress through what should have been such a straightforward purchase of a product. To receive the Cycle Scheme voucher, you first have to calculate the total value of you purchase and confirm the order value to Cycle Scheme. This is presented on the voucher and you cannot go a £1 under or £1 over (unless you are happy to forfeit the difference). By the time the voucher arrives the products I wanted were either no longer available, or had changed price. You cannot top up or pay the incremental amount to meet the new total cost and what you are instructed to do by Cycle Scheme is cancel the original voucher and re-apply for a new one. After, several attempts of going through this ridiculously illogical process, I finally secured an order – this was mid-July 2020. At the time of purchase, the product was due back in stock October 2020 and would be available for collection shortly after. Finally, I was al least happy that I had secured an order (at least I thought so). Having chased Evans Cycles over the course of November (over email; they have no functioning call centre) to find out what happened to my order, they finally respond on 17 November 2020, informing me that the ‘Order does not exist’ and has been cancelled. Since they had partially delivered some items from my order, I am told I need to arrange for those items to be returned to Evans Cycles myself. Since this includes a large bike rack and we were in the middle of a pandemic, I thought this was fairly unreasonable, therefore requested they send a courier. A series of comical incompetences followed, including sending a driver who was unauthorised to collect any of the goods because he was told to collect the bike (which was the one item they didn’t deliver) and then being urged again to just return the items myself (reminding them once again that I could not even fit the large bike rack in my car). We are now nearing the end of Jan 2021; Evans Cycles have now collected the items that were delivered BUT they are still holding onto my £875. A disgrace considering they acknowledged their mistake; were happy to take my money when purchasing the product, but have shown no urgency in refunding. I will NEVER USE EVANS CYCLES again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. I will also advise all employees at work to refrain from using Cycle to Work scheme through Evans.

Do not order from this company. They have zero customer service and are effectively running a scam. I ordered a smart trainer online in mid-November. This has still not arrived as at January 6th. Evans won't refund me as they say it is with the courier, but the courier doesn't know where the product is. Evans won't refund me until the item is delivered so I am out almost £500 until that undetermined time.

Such a poor service! And it is getting worse month after month. I bought two items on line. A couple of days later I received an email as these items were ready for collection. I went to the shop the following day and I've been told the products haven't been delivered. No explanation, no apologise. And the young guy on the counter was laughing with his colleague who was playing with his smartphone. So bad! A few days later, I found out the products have been delivered on time but the staff couldn't find them. And it is one out of many poor experiences. When you can, avoid Evans Cycles...
