I had requested 4 VCR tapes be converted to digital. Two of the tapes were of the same event. Of course I knew they were the same event, but I wanted them both converted to digital because they were good quality-wise in different places, Without checking first, Everpresent only converted only one of the duplicates (so only 3 rathern than all 4 tapes). Further, the DVD version of one the three fails midway through. I emailed EverPresent several times to get a replacement of that DVD (copies of emails available) and never got a reponse. Yes, I know they're available digitally online as well but I wanted the DVD as a simple hardcopy backup.
So on the technical front, Everpresent was good. On the decision-making and responsiveness to customer requests, poor.

Thanks for your feedback. When digitizing family videos we are always running into duplicate tapes and flag them intentionally during our internal process as not to give people back duplicate footage of the same tape. Most clients find this extra step very useful as they are happy to not have duplicate files. I can see how in this instance it may be different and I am happy to reach out and see how we can fix it. “I wasn't kept informed from beginning to end of the process. Never knew if they were working on it or shipped it or what. Then tried to charge an additional $10 to the shipping cost, at least reversed it. Should use a better system to keep customer informed. Coworker used Legacy Box, always emailed info updates - located in KY. I used Everpresent one state over & it took longer to process & receive. Sorry I can not recommend.”

“I'm grateful that the videos we submitted have been recorded, since in the past I've worked in this medium, I was a bit disappointed by the final results, really more than "a bit" because this required no expertise whatsoever. Now I'm looking at slides 9Far, far too many of them, and I wish that after they went onto a flash drive, I could do a voiceover narration. That would so much better for me than what you are offering. The next generations would have something to treasure, but without a voiceover, it would just be pictures identified one by one. After the slide were stored, I'd love to be able to come in and describe each one. We have so much stuff that will mean something to our children, grandchildren, and great grandson, but with an actual physical narrative, it would just become a boring set of old pictures. Do you have the capacity to do something like this? And I also wonder about a music soundtrack - it would make all this "stuff" far, far more professional.”

“I used Ever Present's services on 2 separate occasions. One was to convert my daughter's wedding from my digital movie projector into a DVD. This turned out very good, complete with edits.
The second occasion was when I condensed family memories to a DVD. These were taken from individual video files on outdated devices. This was more complicated. Ever Present not only took on this challenge, but first called to confirm if certain edits were correct and then sent me a sample before converting this to DVD. This project turned out excellent. The employees I spoke with were friendly and quite competent. I would recommend this company whole-heartedly!”
“I would never recommend this service. After one of my 8mm films were lost the tech told me I had submitted an empty reel those of us who have lost family understand what care we take of these memories. He then refused to help transferred me to another employee. Again I’m told the reel was empty. What was to be an emotional Christmas gift is just a deep sadness for the family.
The missing movie contain only two still living relatives.
I should not have been so easily dismissed. I have not received a call back in months.
