“I have already given an a review of EverPresent and will not to another; please refer to the latter. I will write a review IF/WHEN I am NOT satisfied with results.”
“The video conversion was top notch, the only concern I had was with a gray line at the bottom of the video. I tried calling to get an answer but I was given a voice message for the department involved in the analysis of my video and I never got a response back even though I left a message. I would still like an explanation for why this strange mark is in my video. This is why I am giving only 4 out of 5 stars and not 5.”
Hello Chris, thanks for your email and your feedback. We just reviewed your Quality Letter and it looks like we did flag some minor digital corruption which is inherent in older nonstandard PAL tapes. Please reach out and let us know if you would like to learn more about video editing and we can see if a Technician can spend more time to edit and crop out the line. Thanks for choosing EverPresent, we look forward to helping you out again!
“They did everything they promised. Communication was great and the reproduction sounds really good. Honestly, just thought it was a bit over-priced, but wanted the memories on updated media.”
“In terms of value for what they accomplished, yes, Everpresent was great. From 12 VHS tapes I got 12 MP4 files that are nearly perfect. Even though some parts did not digitize properly, I at least can still see footage not seen in over 20 years. The MP4 flawlessly goes into my Imovie making for easy edits. My biggest complaint with Everpresent is the communication of certain details with the staff. While some things are in fine print, pricing details should be blatantly defined in the initial phone calls, not leaving one to wonder for a month how much left is owed on the package one's digitizing. All the staff are friendly but having to drop the VHS supply off at third party lead to confusion at times over price, what I gave, what was returned and what I'd paid for. Also to me, the process of over a month took too long but I guess thats science .”
“Over the past 2 years, Everpresent did a great job digitizing my 30-40 year old Super 8 Movies. All in all the results were great given the age of the films. 4 stars instead of 5 because for some films, I had to go back and request cropping and cleanup that should have been done automatically (and was for most movies).”
“Images were digitally transferred with the same brightness level as projected with bulb projection.
I was hoping / thinking / wishing / believing that the brightness level could have been enhanced in the digital transfer.
Is brightness enhancement possible?”
“The work was very well done and I am happy with digitized photos. A little more communication in the process would be welcome. I like that the photos never had to be entrusted to a carrier company.”
“I have transferred 4 very old brittle 8mm movies so far with good success from the Everpresent team. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the final process of the "consultation", this process requires an old fashion phone call which greatly delays the delivery. Since it is hard to reach the team both time it took over 10 days to get the release of the films. I tried calls, emails but they demand you speak with them (this is almost as old fashion as my 8mm films!) I asked that a manger contact me but there was no attempt.”
“I appreciated the ease of submitting my material. I did not appreciate the lack of communication during the processing. Much was simple boiler plate communications that went into my Junk folder.
When I looked at the materials produced I am disturbed that some of the materials are near impossible to understand what is in it, and yet they passed QA and subsequently cost me money.
I am happy for the results that I can see the images.”
“The slides were scanned very good. they showed up in order - as presented in my carousels. However, when I moved them from my Photos (Mac) to an album, they were not in order. After exchanges of emails, I learned that in albums one needs to save them to Sort by Title in order to put them back in correct order. Customers should be told this up front.
Slides were put back in carousels in correct order, but not upside down consistently. Not that I ever want to use the carousels unless desperate, but wanted to compare slides to scans on side by side screens.
Color corrections. Mostly I didn't need to have this done, because I can do this in Photos on my Mac.”
“Great service! Played a little bit of phone tag to start, but they were very communicative and the digitalized tape came out great. They do have a turnaround of several weeks, so plan ahead, but overall great company!”
“Overall very satisfied. For the slides- not sure why there are lots of separate folders. Would have been better if we could just go continuously from slide to slide”
“Good results, a bit delayed from original expectations.
Good Communication.
Had to request a re-set of my password and that required some persuasion.”
“I think the service is fantastic. My only recommendation is not to incrementally add cost such as labeling videos and adding to drives.
Very happy with the overall experience.”
“I thought the video came out very good considering the pictures were very old along with the film cartridges. But I also thought the price was steep for one CD. I was quoted $25 for each CD , I had one cd.. My bill cost $200. So I assume I’m paying for the work of taping to a CD. With the technology today I would think it wouldn’t be that difficult?”
“EVERPRESENT restored an old record of mine. I was very glad to have this done. I was not able to use the flash drive it was on and needed slot of help to navigate the link on my computer. Although I was glad to pay for the cost of restoring the record, I am very unhappy to have to pay to renew this every six months.”
“Thank you to Ever-present for taking care of my very old slide pictures, that were my Grandmother's. Thank you for putting them on a usb flash drive so I can print them off for the rest of my family.”
