Hi Karen, We're so glad you had a great experience and hope you enjoy your new mat for years to come! Regarding thickness, it appears you ordered our thinnest material (40Mil Crystal). Typically we recommend this for shelf and drawer liners, but we also offer an 80Mil solution, which is twice as thick (and heavy) and is more versatile. Looking at the dimensions of the product you purchased, it appears you may not be using these for shelves and drawers, and instead, are using it for a larger surface, such as a table. If this is the case, the 80Mil may be a much better option. “Great solution! I purchased a painted wood island for the kitchen and ordered one of these to protect it! Just measured the area surface and they cut it to size! Make sure you order custom sizing tho- I made the mistake of ordering a larger one and putting in the notes to cut to size, I called and the customer service rep advised me she would ensure it was cut to the specs I requested- but if I didn't call there was a chance the shop would not have seen my notes. So order custom!”

“I got a table top mat for my craft room table. I ordered the pebble version as I'm using my old dining room table as my craft table, and it has a lacquer finish. The mat works perfectly. It is heavy and doesn't move around at all. I highly recommend Exact Mats.”

We do not recommend this thickness for use as table covers, so it sounds like this may be the issue. “We love our new mat— I bought it for our super long wood dining table that has lots of crevices and was beginning to give us splinters! It was a nightmare to clean, so this was the best solution without sanding down the table to refinish it. The mat is EXACTly the right size, arrived in great condition and didn’t have any permanent kinks from being rolled up. It had a slight rubbery smell to it for a few days but did fine ones aired out. It is a little bit shiny (wish there were matte options) but I’m so thankful we have a dining table we can use/ clean again! Definitely recommend.”
