Started off great, however the company who is in charge of fitting the tracker almost made me loose my policy with in the first to weeks of having it as they couldn't 'find me' at work. That was the start, then for about 4 months I was fine, only issue was that the heavily penalise you driving late, an issue for me as I worked as a waiter. Then I started getting ghost journeys on my tracker, some lasting up to 4 hours and actually giving me a score as if I was driving the car. I know I wasn't as I was on the other side of the country at the time with the only key to open and run my car. This became even more frustrating when I called carrot, after spending 30 minutes on hold when I finally got through to an operator I was told that this was an issue they could do nothing about and were unable to help me in anyway. My last issue with Carrot is their customer care is appalling. To contact them to top up miles it cost you £35 just for ringing, which if your in a hurry won't be something that is going to happen as the shortest time I've personally been on hold is 25 minutes the longest be 40. The one good thing about them is that the miles cost less when you drive well, something I was good at fortunately so the actual miles are fairly cheep to top up, just that rather annoying £35 pound calling fee. Will never insure anything with Carrot again as I feel like if I did have an accident they would take years to pay out and sort anything. This is a company purely focused on making money, don't be fooled by their cash back scheme (something that also take a long time to make it's way on to your pre paid carrot card).

Would have more success trying to phone the pope than Carrot. Every call results in a waiting time of at least 15 minutes before anyone answers. Why not email chat@carrotinsurance.com? Because despite the automated response saying they will respond in 2 days they don't or on the occassions they do they respond by saying call them, so back to square one. When my son advised Carrot he was changing address, they simply cancelled his policy and took £150 out of his repayment. They must pay their staff well if it costs them that much to cancel a policy.

The worst company ever! They just scam people out of money... took deposit said they sent a starter pack and havent recieved the requested forms back. Have recieved nothing its all lies so I call to explain after a threat to cancely my policy after 23 days... rude lady in phone said it was tough luck they are cancelling ! No pack so now I have no insurance and they taken £333 deposit abd £139 for 23 days cover !!!! Watchdog will be investigation these scammers !!!! Stay away from them

Absolutely worst service ever carrot ins are theives.my daughters renewal was due 28 Feb I phoned up to cancel as renewal was silly price .Today I got letter to Sa carrott have cancelled policy due to speeding . How appropriate said they sent me letters and emails.lying cheats that's all I can say don't give young ones a chance I would tell anyone not to use .

They don't care about the customers. I've tried to contact them at the number provided, I've been waiting for ages and still no one answered. By far the worse insurance provider ever!

They missed 2 blackbox appointments. They never showed up and then blamed me for picking up my phone when the engineer should have knocked on the door. They made excuses for the lazy engineers working for them. They expected me to give the same information e.g. my phone number etc not only to their company but also the black box company.

Extremely rude staff, especially the woman on the phone. They cancelled our policy only a matter of days after we had paid them, refused to fit the black box and also refused to pay back the money they had scammed us of. Avoid this company.

After being paid, three days later they sent a guy to our work to come and fit the black box. When he arrived after looking at the car for a while he then refused to fit the box as he claimed our Ford Fiesta Zetec was not a Ford Fiesta Zetec?! The company also insisted that we had modified the car and accused us of lying about what model the car was even though we showed them the log book and manual. The staff are all extremely rude, especially one woman in particular over the phone. We felt very threatened by this company as not only did THEY cancel the policy, they also refused to pay back any money even though they never fitted the box. Since then we have been insured elsewhere and I can assure you it was a FORD FIESTA ZETEC!! Please avoid this company at all costs, I believe it is just a scam and conning young drivers out of money. Very disappointing.

Absolutely dreadful. Avoid at all costs. The scores on the app bear no relation to actual driving. I received negative scores on the app for usage, which lead to carrot threatening to cancel my policy. One of these scores was for driving someone to the airport (an hour journey there and an hour and a half on the way back because of a traffic jam) - journeys over two hours long lead to negative scores. Maybe there's something I'm missing, but I'm not sure how being stuck in traffic was due to bad driving on my part. I also got negative usage scores for journeys that were apparently too short... It is seemingly impossible to use your car at all, without being threatened with policy cancellation if you are insured with carrot. Moreover, I got a negative score for a week, when my car was parked on the drive at my house and I was out of the country... Absolutely ridiculous. Why would they offer car insurance when they are so clearly opposed to the idea of people using their cars? Their app doesn't work, the scores it gives for driving bear no resemblance to reality. Their offer of free pizza as a reward is a lie. The only available reward is the chocolate, which you only find you've qualified for, once the offer has expired. Whenever I tried to call to get through to carrot I was never on hold for less than half an hour. On the day I cancelled my policy I spent a total of three hours on hold with them.

awful insurance company, very unhelpful. My policy was the better driver policy where you use an app, the app was set up from day one but after 20 days they decided to cancel my policy saying the app was not used? very awful company wouldnt recommend it to anyone

There's a few bad things about about this insurance company, as I'm 18 I have to have a black box and the first engineer who came out to fit it refused to fit it as I have a sticker on my car, what a load of rubbish!!! Also on the dashboard it has a thing called usage which means I can't got to the shop on my lunch break because it will mark me downed a bad driver because it's a short trip, it's F**king ridiculous, don't use this insurer ever and if I could afford to change I would without a second thought , don't insure with carrot if you want to enjoy your car

customer service is shocking, i have been sent round in circles and know one knows what they are doing. There is apparently no one available for me to talk to about cancelling my insurance and to top it off they have charge me £140 twice!!! very unhappy with the service.

Doesn't deserve a 1 but that's the least I could put. Carrot if buy far the worse car insurance company.Always sed I was speeding when I wasn't .Not considerate and couldn't care less about anything you have to say.Charge you for everything and always want money for something.So many cheaper deals without a box.wouldnt recommend for anything .appsolutly useless for young drivers even thou that's there market.what a joke

The worst company ever 1st was told on phone when starting my policy that I wasn't allowed anyone on my policy like sister etc called after a month as had a problem and was told I was allowed they shouldn't have said that 2 the problem I was on about was to change my job role from apprentice bricklayer to bricklayer same company same job role really was told I had to pay an extra £500 on top of a £2000 contract also was spoken to like dirt by customer care 3 I added more millage at beginning of policy as I didn't want to pay more money on top as I was told it can save you money if you do it now kinda thing payed an extra £200/£300 for miles and was told that if I didn't use the miles I will get refunded at end of policy of x amount of miles remaining contacted them and was told that i wasn't telling the truth as they listened of recording asked for proof and they have the cheek to ask me to pay £10 for that recording clearly hiding something I honestly will say please don't go to carrot insurance they are a bunch of scampers and will do anything for the extra buck

I am not happy with this insurance , we made a mistake on the email address and sent the documents to the incorrect address. I had no return information - to say that it didn't go through . I have called the company and tried to sort it out - honest mistake - and they will not help. I believe they could of helped .

Terrible idea black box is so inaccurate and as most of my roads are changing to 20mph now I can't be doing silly speeds down clear roads where 30-40mph is acceptable the roads are clear most of the time, there are curfews as if you drive after a certain time you get a lower score won't be getting one again and will have it removed at end of policy dosent bother me about higher prices not worth the freedom of my driving just to save a grand

Cancelled my insurance policy for driving 32mph on a 20mph road despite no warning, had to pay 100 pound for someone to view my car when it crashed and an additional 30 pounds for someone to tow my car,blatantly robbed me I was on comprehensive aswell don't join this insurance company it's a fraud

this insurance company did not add the correct people to my policy that i had inputted before i submitted my forms and agreed to the terms and conditions. They then blamed the error on me and said they will add the other driver to my policy for a fee of £350 ! the other person as a driver on my policy was supposed to make my insurance cheaper so paying the £350 fee would not be worth my money as i would not be saving anything in fact i would be losing money. when i tried to query other issues i was having with them i had to wait over a week to get any response. After emailing 5 times they decided to call me in the middle of the day after me clearly stating in two of my emails i cannot receive or make calls during work times. So as a result of this is missed their call to then wait on hold for my full lunch break and get no answer. When i finally got an answer i was once again told i was lying about being stuck in traffic and got told "the road you were on wouldn't have any traffic" bearing in mind that it is a big busy industrial estate during rush hour. I DO NOT recommend this insurance provider to any first time driver. they will rip you off. accuse you of lying. blame you for their mistakes and give you false information. i did not even receive all the packs of information they were meant to send so found out half way through the month why my score was going down. When you turn your ignition on in your car even when sitting still outside a house or in a drive waiting for a friend they put your score down. However this was not told until i spent hours on the phone weeks after taking out the policy. I cannot even cancel my policy now because i will loose a £450 deposit and forced to pay an additional £150 cancellation fee. all because of errors within their business. Highly Disappointed, it would be interesting to know if other people have experienced these issues.

This is the worst insurance company you could possibly go with. After being kept on hold for hours you're greeted by rude staff, who have absolutely no interest on helping you solve any of your questions or queries. So i urge anyone and everyone to stay clear of this terrible company.
