I have two vehicles insured with Dial Direct, one of them a recent renewal in the last month, it was this vehicle that i wanted to change, sadly i could not change it before the renewal date and i paid one months premium on it. When i enquired how much the next vehicle would cost me to insure and a cancelation on the first vehicle. I was informed that it would cost me £60 to cancel and that my new car would cost me over £800 for the year. I wasn't happy with that and shopped around and found a new company who quoted me £298 for the year, less than 50% of your quote, so much for loyalty. still you will get the £60 for the cancelation, meaning that you haven't lost out completely, am i happy yes in a bitter sweet way, would have loved to stay but you priced yourself out of the ball park.

This company is a disgrace I got a car insurance quote off compare the market 20.06.21 to insure my car from 19.07.21 which was favourable so I proceeded to buy there product I made my first installment of £42.47 and relieved my welcome pack and documentation after the payment however the insurer I was allready with matched there quote so I decided to stay with them I rang DIAL DIRECT 14.07.22 to stop the policy commencing to be told there was a £38.00 charge I explained under consumer law I was allowed a 14 day cooling off period from either when the policy was issued or when the insurance commenced which ever was the later they operator Olivia was most unhelpful and said you should have read our welcome pack it states on page 11 if the insurer or customer cancels the policy within 14 days there is a £38.00 charge this is all well and good but you don't get the documents until you pay the first installment by then it's to late they have allready ripped you off iam just glad I found out how under hand they are before it was too late and had to make a claim to then get ripped off iam going to take this matter further it might only be £38.00 but when this happens again and again the £38.00 soon add up I have just checked the company who owns DIAL DIRECT ALSO OWN COMPARE THE MARKET

I thought its was bad how you are unable to cancel online and renewed my policy without even me accepting renewal. Further to this I've done more research and same cover elsewhere at half the price. Also my payment last year was by credit card and being as its renewed without accepting now trying to charge for late payment.

Terrible service, clearly only interested in making their money by hitting customers with fees. My cars has been declared sorn for 5 months, I never check to auto renew after being stung in the past but that didn't matter with Dial Direct, they auto-renew without your decision and then charge £38 to cancel. Like taking to a brick wall trying to argue the point! AVOID!!!!!

Do not buy with dial direct I’ll tell you why. Been with them for 2 years or more now, and in my policy it says it covers the escape of water etc It was reviewed by their insurance guys who come out, first came out and said it was the sealant and grout even though I done it about 10 times & got professional plumbers in too do it aswell. Still denied. Complained again they sent out another insurance inspector, and he said roof needs skimed down stairs , wooden floor because of the water, need to get it all fixed etc seen the videos and pictures and knows we’re covered in escaped water all nicey nicey to your face and then declines it. We asked why and they said it’s through “axa” so we asked axa and they said it’s not through them it’s through dial direct. Nobody willing to take the blame and we’re left in a limbo. Then axa had the cheek to turn around and say we will give you a £75 gift card for your trouble and hassle etc. £75 they can shove that up their ass for all we care, this is going to cost at least £2000 or more. This house isn’t too old only like 5 years brand new when we moved in & first time buyers may I add too. What a terrible experience from them, they don’t want to know when you have a problem. And to make things worse I need a back operation and that shower was easy for me to get washed. Now it’s a hassle to get into and out of the bath. AVOID like the plague.

I have had my car insured by this company for about a month. In this time they have increased the policy amount, and overcharged on my first direct debit by more than double the agreed instalment amount. They have sent me letters to say the policy value was reduced, when in fact it showed an increased value on the letter. I have complied with all of their requirements in terms of providing NCD and no details on the policy have changed. I have now been informed that it will take up to 8 weeks to review my complaint while I continue to be charged above the original amount agreed for the policy. I only went with this company because of the low price and roadside recovery assistance. I would never take another policy out with them again and will definitely go with more reputable companies in future.

They are so poor! Customer Service is nil. You are pushed from pillar to post to get answers to simple questions. 2 weeks wait to get though to The legal helpline?? I don’t recommend Direct dial horrendous to deal with.

I am very disappointed that you have increased my payments as I have not had any accidents and have a good no claims policy record, If I can cancel this agreement without any charges please let me know as I want to shop around for a cheaper quote but usually there is a cancellation charge.

you cancelled my car insurance with little notice. you penalised me for an accident my husband had and I had been with you for many years. I had 1 accident were a lorry hit me, it was not my fault and the insurance company did refund my excess. You failed to get that logged on my profile and you put up my premiums. I did have 1 other accident which i agree was my fault. Then when my husband had an accident i was the one whose policy was cancelled. I feel I have been unfairly treated and penalised . i would not reccommend you to anyone

After a number of years of covering my parents house they will not do it this year due to a man made subsidence problem that was dealt with over 20 years ago and was dealt with by our other insurance company and sorted out. It is not a recurring problem and they knew about this when they took us on. No help with what we can do next and left my parents home uninsured and worthless. Considering the other problems i am dealing with at the moment I could really do without.

Rip-oof merchants! Increased price of cover under claim of a fake 'incident' which never happened. Then increased the premiums even more when due to renew. When I emailed to say I didnt want to renew with this shower of charlatans, they went ahead and renewed anyway - and no doubt would have tried to coerce me to pay them even more money as a 'penalty' for 'cancelling' when I had made clear I didnt want to renew. They didnt even deign to repluy to my email. On top of all that, the one time I needed their breakdown cover, the fact that I had to limp the car home to find my insurance and breakdown details gave them the perfect excuse NOT to provide that breakdown cover so that I had to shell out another £60 to get the help I needed. They are a bunch of crooks - dont buy!!!

One star because I had to give some. Should be zero. Not bad until the claim was done. Terrible experience. Highly not recommended! Be aware.

Was in a very bad place with depression so did not pick up the automatic renewal and the fact that the price had doubled. Even supplied my GP details for confirmation. Contacted dial direct who have not yet responded.

Had a home emergency where I had a leak. At first the response was great but when the engineer finally came in the evening, he diagnosed the hot water tank was leaking and the boiler was also faulty. I had no heating or hot water for 2 days.He and the insurance company were supposed to contact me the next day with the next steps but I never heard anything from them. I ended up getting this sorted myself. Will not renew with this company again

The person dealing with my request didn't come across well - I couldn't understand him very well. I've just changed my car for a newer but the same model and had to pay £145 extra - a little over the top for somebody who drives less than 4000 miles a year. I will certainly be looking for cheaper insurance when yours finishes.

Had an issue with a renewal payment due to my existing debit card running out; subsequently charged £20 for the missed payment. I would have cancelled the policy if it weren't for the ridiculous £60 cancellation fee. After this experience I wouldn't recommend using the company to anybody and I'll certainly avoid in the future.
