When you get a price from compare the market and click to buy, you are directed to the Dial Direct website. This asks you to add add-ons that are already included in the original quote. When you press the update price button, which you have to do to proceed, the price goes up. So as a result I no long have motor legal protection. Been using compare the market for years and its the first time I have seen this scam. Beware. Will go elsewhere next year.

Terrible service. The customer service number was unobtainable. When I did speak to someone they didn't seem to know their job. The information was wrong. My policy was cancelled by mistake and I received several letters informing me my policy was cancelled when it wasn't. Time consuming phone calls to try and sort it out.

At a time where claims are down, burglaries are down, due to people home most of the time, My home insurance policy increased by 26.7% for renewal. I have never made a claim, no change in circumstances. ABSOLUTE ROBBERS. Needless to say I am not renewing, I need insurance against companies like Dialdirect to cover me for daylight robbery.

I obtained a quote through confused.com. Impressed by the 5* Defacto rating (!) I decided to go ahead. I changed my mind and recontacted them to say I didn't want to go ahead. They advised me there is a £38 fee for cancellation...even though cover didn't start until the following week! This is shown on the policy document they sent me but it was too late by then. The experience has left me feeling ill! I've given 1 star as they do 'appear' to be cheap and the website is fairly easy to maneuver. All in all a very stressful experience!

Disgusted in the prices that are charged and for anyone reading this review please check the small print before dealing with Dial Direct. I wanted to add my 26 year old son to my policy and was informed that my current insurer "Ageas" would not insure so Dial Direct had to seek another company. AXA was able to insure but it meant that if I moved mid term then Dial Direct wanted £60 plus an additional admin fee of £20!! What a rip off.

Dial direct recovery is a con! It is not an RAC membership and provides a less than poor service. Took 5 hours to recover my van from a dangerous location after a breakdown. No RAC attended and a recovery truck was eventually sent from a different company. Was initially told it would be a 90 min wait and after 90 mins no contact. Contacted them again and was told it would be a 4 hour wait. I told them this was not acceptable and they said someone would contact the recovery firm and ring me back but they didn’t. Contacted then 30 mins later and was told a senior dispatcher would get back to me in a couple of mins but never had any further contact from them. Avoid at all costs! 5 hours after the initial breakdown I finally got home from 5 mins down the road. Disgusting service and will be cancelling my insurance and recovery with Direct Dial Insurance Monday morning.

An absolute shower, I moved from LV in order to save £40, I wish I hadn’t bothered. I was asked to supply proof of NCD in both mine and my wife’s name because if I didn’t my premium would increase to a level which didn’t include our hard earned NCD. Fair enough, I could understand that and e mailed them both sets of proof from LV which they acknowledged receiving. I then received a further e mail saying that what I had supplied wasn’t enough and that I needed to prove what date my old insurance with LV was due to expire. I phoned the helpline, the lady there acknowledged that they had the proof required but there was a problem with me being the lead driver of a car owned by my wife. she asked me to forward the supplied prof to her manager . Within two hours I received an e mail telling me that the 9 years NCD had been accepted. 7 minutes later I received another e mail telling me they hadn’t been able to confirm the NCD as I hadn’t supplied the date my insurance with LV was cancelled. Beware of this everyone, 9 years NCD can be cancelled at a stroke and I still don’t know if they will carry out their threat to remove it and take hundreds of pounds out of my bank account in the coming days. Should never have left LV and will be returning to them ASAP.

I recently switched my car insurance to dial direct and have been very unhappy with the service. Dial direct have taken every opportunity to apply fees to my account and have been very unhelpful. I missed a dd and called Dial Direct on the same day to pay it over the phone and was told they only do batch processing so I will be charged a fee and have my credit rating effected. I also sent them my proof of no claims but for weeks continued to receive post informing me of fees and loss of no claims discount. I have had to phone Dial Direct a number of times and have found their customer support to be useless!!! Avoid this company at all costs!

I tried to cancel my policy within 14 days. They won't accept it as in the small print it says you can't cancel by email. I had tried to phone and use the chat service but couldn't get through. I am now being bombarded by emails, phone calls and letters demanding the money they say I owe. They're trying to say the email address I used is the wrong one; none of my messages bounced and the email address is listed on their website! Awful company.

Nothing but hassle, ended up cancelling after 12 days. Would not recommend to anyone. Received multiple emails straight away all requiring instead attention. Responded to them in good time but still received the same persistent emails. I sent my Proof of no claims along with other documents more than three times to no avail. I then received 4 letters within the space of two days threatening to increase my premium if i didn't send my evidence even though id sent it three times. To cut a long story short i called up their customer services to be told we'll call you back tomorrow. Needless to say i didn't receive a call back, after which i continued to call their line 3 to 4 times to be referred to different call centres having to explain my situation multiple times and being fobbed off throughout until i had no other choice but to cancel. When my mother was insured via Dial Direct and sadly had to make a claim through no fault of her own they did not deal with it but referred her onto 2 different insurance companies in the space of 2 days!

The quotation process was good but they persisted in asking for proof of NCD even though we supplied it 3 times. Then when I corrected them on a previous address that was supplied by Compare The Market, they more than doubled my premium before cancelling the policy. I requoted with the right address and it was £50.00 cheaper as expected so saw it as an opportunity to cash in. Spoke to a social responder for Dial Direct and she upheld the huge policy increase. They caused me huge time waste and stress and did not benefit from the business. Shambolic outfit!

Missed a direct debit payment and 10 days later they placed a 50% extra charge when taking the DD out again. Called them and they would not reimburse me at all. 50% extra for just 10 days is disgusting. The fact that it is even written in the T&C's is disgusting!! They do not do themselves any favours in retaining their customers. I will not be using them again

Avoid them. Attempted to take a renewal at quadruple the previous rate and despite requesting no auto-renewal!

DIAL DIRECT - SHOULD BE RENAMED - DIAL DAMAGE YOUR HOME My family and I are still waiting for our ripped up carpets to be repaired - as a direct result of Dial Directs - affiliated sub-contractor damaging our home. This was in Dec 2019. Its now almost Mid March 2020 - we are still living in a home that has ripped up carpets and bathroom flooring with sticky flooring. Bare in mind it was the fault of Dial Directs affiliated subcontractor that caused much damage in our home. To add to the months of grief which they have caused us - we are still waiting for them to accept liability & responsibility for the negligence of "their subcontractor". Three other professionals in the same trade as "their subcontractor" informed us - that something like that should never happen and that it was 100% avoidable. I would literally need pages to inform the public on what this company has taken my family and I through. All the companies who they work with and passed us through to - ARAG, Sedgwick, Claim Desk and more - are so incredibly dishonest & unethical. DIAL DIRECT - SHOULD BE RENAMED - DIAL DAMAGE YOUR HOME...AVOID THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY LOW PRICES..

Dial Direct - Contractor - Damaged - our property. Dial Direct and affiliates ARAG - have not accepted liability for the contractor damaging our home. Furthermore, they have been dishonest by deliberately with-holding vital information from us and have got us to jump through hopes as it were to provide them with information which they had no intention of using. They now want us to pay for an access of £350. on damage which was not caused by us, along with us facing future premiums. This is the most dishonest & unethical company I have the misfortune of dealing with. I'm still awaiting Ann McEntee - to contact me about the unethical code of practice Dial Direct has. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - It looks like they have people in place that writes them FAKE reviews.
