We have just moved home from near Cardiff to a quiet village in West Wales and needed to update our address for insurance purposes. Saga who insured one car did the change and gave us a small rebate. DialDirect charged us £25 to change but took a few £'s off as we moved to a quieter area. How can it cost £25 to change an address on the computer system? Will not be using these people again.

We were told our car would most likely be a write off without anyone actually seeing the car or photographs of the damage and that we would not be provided with a courtesy car. We were basically abandoned over 200 miles from home in need of medication and Dial Direct could not have cared less. We were forced to pay over £200 on a hire car to get home.

NEVER EVER again..... 3 weeks since making my claim, no contact at all and when I rang them this morning they are unable to give me any sort of timeframe as to when the claim will be sorted. Shocking service to say the least.

I renewed my insurance with Dial direct for the second year but unfortunately the address I was moving too fell through and when I changed the address they charged me 25 pounds . I had only just renewed so it wasn’t as though I had left it a couple of months . It takes 2 seconds to change an address not 25 pounds worth . Won’t renew again !

Auto renewal without my permission should be a criminal offence

Unfortunately Dial Direct seem to outsource their claims process to 3rd party so called assessors thru what is now a purely digital platform. Whilst one would hope this would be more efficient it is really a disaster. Naturally in a highly competitive market cost cutting is probably a priority, but it is done at the expense of poor service and inadequate Apps. In the end Dial Direct is moving more to what it’s name implies - a marketing platform for outsourced services

Spam to the max. Please stop calling me. Companies like this should be fined. I've explained that i dnt want their insurance and that I've signed up with a better company amd they still call!!! Blocked them now. 8am on a Saturday is beyond acceptable 😡

Opened a claim for 'escape of water' in July. My claim included video and photographic evidence. Polygon came out to assess the damage and took photos. We are now in October and I am still waiting to be contacted regarding a settlement. Very disappointing!

Totally hopeless. I spent nearlynthree hours trying to insure my car following a quote for £211. I had difficulty actually placing the order and eventually found a phone number which was answered after a very considerable length of time by a young lady who knew absolutly nothing and could not explain why the quote leap frogged to over £400 and whose comment was "It's on my screen" but could not make any intelligent or informed comment. AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE. They are amateur time wasters and bring the insurance industry into disrepute. Note that the "live chat" does not get answered (perhaps they are dead)

I am currently looking for other insurance providers and the only reason I haven't changed is that I haven't had time. 2 times over all the time I have been with you I have tried to make a claim and both times you found a clause that I wasn't covered so I have had to foot the bill myself on the last claim it was a leak and you informed my husband we did not have track and trace (please check your recorded calls) and my policy says we do but we had already sorted both time we realised so we have asked a 3rd party to intervene there. This is why I would not recommend you to anybody also Thanks Mrs D Daniels

Last week I phoned Dialdirect three times to sort a simple matter. Each time I was asked identical questions. I was promised an answer by Friday. No reply. I have phoned five times this week but they are experiencing 'very high level' of calls. I have received countless automated e mails. All I want is to speak to a human. They are unable to phone me and I can't get through to them. Dialdirect is easy to sign up to but once they have your custom they really, really don't care.

Not happy with my new quote even though it was cheaper than last year but had I known my end of contract date I would have gone elsewhere if I didn't get it MUCH more cheaper as I could have had it up to £40 cheaper although I don't shop for the cheapest, I would'vebeen happy with my second year going down more than just £6-ish. Loyalty seems to NEVER pay!!

A shocking increase to premium for a minor change of occupation that has no logic to it whatsoever. Would not recommend to anyone unless you want to be ripped off.

I have two vehicles insured with Dial Direct, one of them a recent renewal in the last month, it was this vehicle that i wanted to change, sadly i could not change it before the renewal date and i paid one months premium on it. When i enquired how much the next vehicle would cost me to insure and a cancelation on the first vehicle. I was informed that it would cost me £60 to cancel and that my new car would cost me over £800 for the year. I wasn't happy with that and shopped around and found a new company who quoted me £298 for the year, less than 50% of your quote, so much for loyalty. still you will get the £60 for the cancelation, meaning that you haven't lost out completely, am i happy yes in a bitter sweet way, would have loved to stay but you priced yourself out of the ball park.

This company is a disgrace I got a car insurance quote off compare the market 20.06.21 to insure my car from 19.07.21 which was favourable so I proceeded to buy there product I made my first installment of £42.47 and relieved my welcome pack and documentation after the payment however the insurer I was allready with matched there quote so I decided to stay with them I rang DIAL DIRECT 14.07.22 to stop the policy commencing to be told there was a £38.00 charge I explained under consumer law I was allowed a 14 day cooling off period from either when the policy was issued or when the insurance commenced which ever was the later they operator Olivia was most unhelpful and said you should have read our welcome pack it states on page 11 if the insurer or customer cancels the policy within 14 days there is a £38.00 charge this is all well and good but you don't get the documents until you pay the first installment by then it's to late they have allready ripped you off iam just glad I found out how under hand they are before it was too late and had to make a claim to then get ripped off iam going to take this matter further it might only be £38.00 but when this happens again and again the £38.00 soon add up I have just checked the company who owns DIAL DIRECT ALSO OWN COMPARE THE MARKET

I thought its was bad how you are unable to cancel online and renewed my policy without even me accepting renewal. Further to this I've done more research and same cover elsewhere at half the price. Also my payment last year was by credit card and being as its renewed without accepting now trying to charge for late payment.

Terrible service, clearly only interested in making their money by hitting customers with fees. My cars has been declared sorn for 5 months, I never check to auto renew after being stung in the past but that didn't matter with Dial Direct, they auto-renew without your decision and then charge £38 to cancel. Like taking to a brick wall trying to argue the point! AVOID!!!!!
