Having had building and content insurance via Dial Direct for one year, I was surprised to receive a letter stating they would not insure me again! I have not had any claims nor have I had any issues in the past 37 years that I have had building and content insurance with various companies. I telephoned Dial Direct but am still none the wiser as to why this has happened. During my telephone conversation apparently their computer system crashed and the call handler stated she would phone me the following day. This did not happen and I have had no contact since! I would have quite happily renewed my policy given the opportunity, however perhaps their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

BEWARE! TRY TO SCAM YOU OUT OF EXTRA MONEY I would not recommend them or ever use them again. I signed up for my car insurance, i used the form on confused.com. The form clearly states "CLAIMS AND CONVICTIONS" i declared both my at fault accidents as requestedc that were claims on my policy and got my insurance. A few days later i got a letter from them saying i hadnt declared an accident THAT WASNT MY FAULT! Why would i declare accidents that are not my fault? That is not what the website asks for! they said they would charge me another THIRD!! of my policy as i didnt mention someone hitting me in a car accident. What absolute scum to try and milk people for something that wasnt their fault! If theres one thing i cant stand its being ripped off, i filled the form in accurately and then they just try and scam money out of you when youve done nothing wrong. They then have the cheek to tell me if i want to cancel ill have a £50 fee to pay, well i will be taking this up with the ombudsman if you charge me any money to cancel your scammy policy. Thats nothing short of extortion.

Really bad customer service, I set up through comparethemarket with this company, rang them within an hour as the wrong address had copied over. They added 30 pounds correction fee so I cancelled and went elsewhere. Have I got my money back yet? NO a week later they still havent refunded the CC payment, cancelled WITHIN THE HOUR of being processed. You have to listen to over a minute of spiel before you can even get through to anyone, then you get a load of excuses. Not at all impressed and grateful that I went elsewhere, heaven forbid you have to make a claim with these people, you have been warned!

I had a no fault claim, when another driver drove into my parked car. The other driver admitted full responsibility. Despite being written to by the underwiter Covea, to say that its not my fault and there's no claim against me, Dial direct doubled my insurance quote and keep saying the claim is open. ( Covea have said its been closed for weeks)They are using the incident to inflate the cost of my insurance. They are also refusing to give me my no claims bonus.Use them at your cost.

Hope & pray you never need to make a claim with this company. As i write this I have an unsafe / unusable toilet in my home - it is the only toilet in my home and it is in its current condition because of shoddy workmanship by contractors sent by Dialdirect's Home Assistance Helpline. A botched repair left our toilet with pretty bad leak even though the plumber told us it was "fixed" we were left in this state, leaking, for over a week. they have been & repaired the leak another twice since (third times a charm apparently ) we are now left with badly water damaged floor & a toilet that has fixings coming away and the toilet feels loose - moves 1-2 inches side to side. we have been left with unusable facilities & have been told that we must wait a further 8 weeks while they "investigate". they have been "investigating" for approximately 2 weeks now not that anyone has been to look at it, or call to ask me any questions, or ask me to email them the photographic evidence i keep telling them i have. they are only interested in apportioning blame each other After approximately 6 hours on the phone (today alone) arguing with 5 separate companies each passing blame to the next a DialDirect Customer Service representative suggested that I start a new claim on my home insurance (seperate from the home assistance service who caused the damage in the firstplace) & was transferred to new claims where i was cheerily informed that i would need to fork out £350 excess (for water damage) in order to get any work done. I have asked that they come & fix the problem & defer any excess payment until *their* investigation is complete - i dont need an investigation i know it's knackered i have to squat precariously above it every morning. this has been met with nothing but indifference.

I had a car accident earlier in the year 2018 for a Non Fault(rear of my car was damaged by Third party car) and dial direct was following up on my claim . My car was taken for repairs and returned by the repairs centre.Dial direct introduced a Personal Injury solicitor to me and when i called to follow up on my claim,Dial Direct said they dont have info that the accident was not my fault. It was the greatest joke of the year i was on phone for 2 hours and was transfered between departments and other companies. I called Dial Direct severall and they couldnt figure out simple questions. After 3 weeks ,i called them again on 11/04/18,they dont have my updated info on my accident on 12/01/2018.I had complained and was told someone will call me .No one called after 3 weeks. I called the Personal injury Solicitor working with Dial Direct and they confirmed to me that the third party insurance had admitted full liability for the incident and my insurance and underwriter does not have a clue about my info. After expiration of my insurance,i will NEVER go near this company again

My father is a disabled pensioner recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and they have, in my opinion, treated him disgracefully. In my opinion they are immoral and incompetent. Thank god he never had to make a claim with them. I would advise you do not even consider them.

Changed car for a newer version of the same car (BMW 3 Series) and my monthly payments went from £26 to £106 its a standard car not a Ferrari. Went online and their quote was £400 if taking out a new policy although I would have to cancel the existing one for an additional charge of £53. So because I changed my car I have to accept my premium has gone from £312 to £1,272 or pay £53 to cancel. They have lost another customer for good.

Useless robbing cunts, gave me a online price , then put it up about £700 pounds, if I cancelled the policy it would then make my next insurance more expensive as would show as insurance being cancelled, never again

Please anyone reading this DO not ever use Dial Direct for your next insurance. After years of being with Direct Line I changed to them and its been the worst experience from the start. I recently had a claim and very upsetting and stressful to deal with. They have the worst customer service experience I have ever ever witnessed. The staff are rude, argue and talk over you when you try to complain and say they are going to do something and never do it as the right hand does not know what the left and is doing. Complete JOKE

I want an e-mail address for customer complaints Dept I have noticed no sign of one unless you sign into your self service centre I have cancelled my policy with you and I WANT to correspond by E-mail not by phone NOT by letter. Or is that your way of getting out people having evidence of what they actually want to write to you !!!!!!!!!! so probably an other letter to the Financial ombudsman to get something done that way

I have been with this company for over a year now & they are the worst company I have had to deal with in my whole entire time of driving (6 years) I had my insurance with Auto & General from July 2014-2015 when they were taken over by Dial Direct. I had no problems until last year. Unfortunately last year I had to make a claim in May which I notified them straight away of this. All seemed to be fine until unfortunately I had to make yet another claim in June of the same year. Again, everything seemed ok until I returned from my holiday in Sept 2015 to a letter to say they urgently needed to speak to me & then another one to say that they were going to cancel my insurance. Confused I called to explain I had been away hence not calling sooner only for them to accuse of me of not telling them about the second claim. I was outraged, after the mix up they said they had added the second claim onto the system & they were to create a new policy at a higher price. I said I would think about it at the new price then call back the following day which I did only to be told I would not be paying anymore than I previously did. Confused yet again I asked them if they had definitely put the second claim onto the system in which they replied yes. I advised I would accept the new policy & didn't think anything more of it, until I had an email in July 2016 to say thank you for renewing your insurance with us. I had not renewed my policy with them & as far as I was away the insurance was not due until September. I called up to query & they said it was automatically renewed & the mix up in Sept meant it was the same policy just with a new underwriter. Again, I was happy with the renewal price & left it at that. The next day however they then leave me a voicemail saying to call them, which I did & guess what... They still have not got the second claim on the system meaning the renewal price had gone up again. How can it take 3 advisors in the space of a year not to record a claim?! Also what's more worrying is if they urgently needed to speak to me in Sept 2015 why not call or email me instead of bombarding me with letters?! Avoid this company as they employ idiots & have caused me no end of stress & worry to the point where I dont even want to open letters from them anymore!

Had a car policy with budget insurance services Ltd(BISL) I bought a new car so I asked BISL for a quote on my new car, it was a little high so I went onto a price comparison website and found a quite for the same level of cover at a very reasonable price with dialdirect.so I rang BISL back and asked if they could match my quote with dialdirect and they said no, so I cancelled my BISL policy incurring a cancellation fee of £74, and went with my very reasonable quote with dialdirect. After receiving my paperwork from dialdirect in small print at the the bottom of the letter it says dialdirect is a trading name of BISL Ltd. Now when BISL said they couldn't match the quote of dialdirect which is basically the same company did they do this knowing I would have to pay the cancellation fee? Very devious companies these!!!!!!!!!
