I have tried several times to contact the claims department. There is no direct phone number I go straight to and answering machine. I have emailed several different email address and again they are failing to reply.

had phoned 4 days before my policy expired & spent ages on hold before I got my renewal quote sorted. The girl on the phone promised me she would call me back at an approximate time, to finalise my renewal on the day my old policy expired. Great idea! No more waiting for 15 minutes on hold!!! After waiting for over 3 hrs for the call I decided to call you instead. After another 15-20 mins on hold I was finally cut off.... Finally!! After waiting for yet another 15mins on hold I got through & sorted my new policy. The girl on the phone actually told me there was a call back note on the computer!!! As this was on a Sunday, the weather being great & I was planning to go out on the bike for a few hours. I was not amused about this situation. Surely if a call back has been arranged, then somebody should check these on a daily basis?? All in all, a crap experience & totally buggered up my Sunday!!! :-( Cheers Les...

Purchased Insurance on 13 August transferring from Carol Nash on recommendation. Had a puncture on 20th and refused recovery without agreeing to pay for it as your system did not show that I was entitled to free recovery so the rescue required up security £187. It is clear that you have no intention of honouring your insurance and were quite happy to leave me stranded in the middle of my first weekend riding with my son. I am very disappointed and more than a little disillusioned with your ability to care for me should I have need to call on you again. I politely explained this to your breakdown operative who equally politely refused to connect me to her management although she was efficient in reading me your right to claim on my account despite the fault being your slow update of other system failure. Awful service, after I've been insured with your company for over 5 years and had been looked after well, to be charged over £30 for taking insurance out with you after being told on the phone by MCE it doesn't make a difference if I take the policy out online or over the phone! YOU ARE SCAMMERS! Be warned people ! Stay away!

They increased my policy at renewal by over 25% citing the most stupidest of reasons, the lady I spoke to seemed like she got out of bed on the wrong side. Their 'aftercare' team contacted me a few days later I thought to ask about the experience but no, they were trying to sell me more products (coincidentally would've added another 25% onto the total policy cost) I've had insurance with these guys over the years and it's sad to see that they have began the journey downhill, I guess greed always wins.

Hard to talk to the person, so much background noise. Everything is rushed through. Never got the feeling that anyone at MCE knows anything about bikes or bikers.

I have ended up with a county court judgement against me because MCE have not settled my case from over a year ago.Third party solicitors have been contacting me and one of the letters mentions bailiffs.This is a disgraceful way to be treated after entering into a contract with MCE.

If asked, by letter, to ring a number, there should be no expectation or requirement to apply for a quote 'online'. If viewed as a 'valued customer' I should be treated as a valued customer and should not be offered a worse deal than a new customer!

My experience from the sales team was absolutely terrible. As soon as he took my payment he hung up on me without telling me my policy number leaving me to call back Coustmer service to find out the policy number myself. The person who sold me this policy couldn't explain to me about legal services and had no idea and knowledge whatsoever. Moreover he tried to bump up the price from my previous quote from the exact same company making me feel like I had the best offer and giving me £25 off personal discount if I get it from him. I personally didn't get the best experience from the quote I got from this company.

Bike was nicked. They use an "investigations" company - whose job is to reduce the claim in any way, and who - get this - if they leave a message and don't hear from you , drop your claim. This is dishonest thievery. MCE are the worst insurer I've ever had to deal with - an appalling company. Avoid this dishonest company if you possibly can.

Will never use again. Been insured with them my whole biking life from I've been old enough to drive a super sport bike. Recently changed bike a fair few times in the last 3 years and insurance always was creeping up. I asked could they do anything for me...Simple rude answer with NO. Even asked would they talk with there floor supervisor or manager & replied they can't help me. Every time with change of bike I got charged the change over and admin fees of £45 each bike on top of the insurance. Now with looking back you are a complete rip of company taking advantage in any area you can to make money. You charge top rate for calls and keep people on the phone for at least 20 minutes minimum each call and I mean minimum surely ways to improve that or have a proper online portal? After finally cancelling my policy with No calls to me to even ask why I wasn't happy I have no got insurance with Cornmarket Insurance. Top class company they are with 10/10 Customer service! After I cancelled insurance I may add yous still came top of quotes but for some reason the cheapest. Excess has went up from 500 to 1200 what is that all about? So really people before you think about getting insured with Mce have a real long hard think about it. They have caused me nothing but a headache. Just because MCE come top every time it's not everything!! A STAY CLEAR OF COMPANY TO EVERYONE.

Memeber of staff was fine wouldn't let me speak to manager as they are short staffed? Charging £300 more then others online so asked to cancel having only had just paid over £400 3 months ago for the year and got refunded £80 what a pathetic insurance provider.... lets hope no one else has to cancel or pay the heavy cancellation charges nor admin charges to change bike!! Ride away from the guys!!!

If I could rate it 0 I would worst insurance I have ever used! Complete and utter rip off stay well well away people. If you see people giving them a good rating they have clearly not had to renew or cancel the policy yet! Believe me guys stay away or you may be very much out of pocket before you know it.

3 months to pay up. (And no credit for that time when there is no risk covered by them.) Wouldn't pay for helmet and other gear stolen with bike. Deducted 5% from claim because wanted service history from before I owned the bike.

Took a policy out on Saturday and got a flat tyre on the same day got charged 105 for recovery and recovery is included in the insurance to be told I will get the money back then to be told the brake down don't start until 7 days into the policy

It took 44 minutes to insure the same 2 bikes for another year with the same details. Then with 1 more year of 'no claims' to be quoted nearly £100 more. Only when questioned was an offer of £20 more than last year proffered. Now having recieved my phone bill an additional charge of £24 was added for dialing the 0844 number for which MCE get 55p per minute? Poor on every level.

4 months and claim for theft still unresolved. They have used excuses ranging from "examworks haven't submitted their report" to "we have had issues with our system" or even "x team hasn'nt validated on the system". They have also tried to adjust my premium (con) as a shared garage is not a garage, which is somewhat confusing given the options of "on street, driveway, shed or garage", garage would seem the most appropriate. The adjustment came to £150, approximately 50% of the annual premium! I will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman Service. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Due to a mix up in my online application I telephoned to clarify some details, couldnt get through so I emailed as was suggested online, the reply told me I had to telephone! I phoned and this resulted in a change to the details of the policy (which had not yet commenced) for which I was asked for an extortionate amount of money. I was very annoyed and decided to cancel the policy rather than pay, which of course meant a cancellation fee. Magically after waiting a few moments extra payments were found to be unnecessary, so I kept the policy. Not a happy bunny.
