“Your on line form declined my card, which after looking carefully at the policy I was quite glad about only to find out the next day you had took it and started a policy, I tried quite a few times to contact you the next day all to no avail, left me not knowing the state of my finances or my legal right to ride my bike This is not the type of service I would like or have time in my busy life to accommodate, then to get the run around when I didn't want to associate with your company, due to the reasons stated, Not happy with your service in any way”

“Asked MCE to explain why the Brokerage fee was so high (£250+) greater than the insurance premium itself and all they will do is stonewall, saying it would have been explained at time of taking out the policy. Have been with MCE many years but am extremely unhappy with the way I have been treated and cannot recommend using this company on this basis.”

“Avoid this Insurance Company like the Plague !! cheap premiums until you have a claim then denial, they will do everything possible to NOT pay your Claim, Shocking customer service and utter incompetence !!. I had all sort's of issues with this company incorrect Reg number on my policy, Bike not on MID database for over 40 weeks ! and much more.”

“Went against everything I was told by others on different bike forums and got insured with mce because they were cheapest and had track cover included! Luckily last night I decided to check my renewal date as thought it was coming up and it had run out over a month ago!! Went back to Bennett's and got covered! After putting this on a few Facebook bike pages it seems a lot of people have had the same issue with mce. In over 30 years of buying vehicle insurance I've never had this! Luckily I've not used the bike, had a break in or an accident!! Never again mce!!!”

“Terrible company. A family member was involved in a serious accident with an MCE-insured motorcycle. The court made an award to her for trauma and damages (which in her case were considerable). MCE have totally ignored the court's ruling, do not respond to phone calls, letters or emails and totally failed to meet their financial obligations. If you think you are insured because you paid a premium to these people think again. You aren't. But you will only find that out if you try to make a claim.”

“I insured my bike for a year. After six weeks, it failed the mot and I had to take it off the road. I was told that 'the small print' explained that I would not receive any money back. Read the document carefully.”

“Avoid this company like the plague. Disgusting service, and you're kept waiting for hours (and in my case, days) by incompetent staff. My scooter was stolen not just once but twice and used every trick in the book not to pay out. And then when I had to change my policy from full comp to third party for another bike they charged the same amount as it was for the original policy! If I had money and resources to sue these bastards I would. Scum of the earth.”

You will never speak to a claims handler. You may be lucky and get your claim sorted after many many months. My grandson had an accident November 2016. After many many month they settled his claim. However the same can't be said for the TP. As a result of them not settling the TP claim my grandson is now involved in a Court case brought by the TP. On the few occasions I have got through to MCE they have been next to useless. I have now reported to Financial Ombudsman awaiting their findings. This company will cost you money and grief avoid at all costs.”

“I had to cancel my policy which I took out on 17/10/2018 due to falling pregnant and selling my motorbike as I would no longer have a use for it. It was easy to cancel but I was shocked to hear that I was due no refund. I held the policy for 22 weeks and one day so less than half a year but I have had to pay for the full years insurance for this! I understand there is a cancellation fee. I was told after 6 months you only get 25% back so after the cancellation fee I am due no refund. I don’t know how you can justify this. I know car insurance is different but when I have had to cancel a car policy I have always received what I didn’t use back. I’m upset and shocked at this procedure you have in place.”
