“I'm giving average score because I was asked to give a review, but I fail to see how it could have been any different. I needed insurance, I paid for insurance through a comparison site, now I have insurance. This to me doesn't deserve anything more than average score. There is nothing that can be done to improve this and nothing that could make it worse. If I needed to make a claim then I could give a more accurate score based on customer service. Hopefully I won't need to.”

“As a new client, I cannot make a judgement. Not much in the way of communication. My hope is that as for the past 10+ years withou a claim, I will not need to contact them. The reviews were good but it is a completely new name to me (as an oldie).”

“I saved £100 pounds and I have a similar cover to my old insurance, ut if I had added all the extras,it would cost the same.”

“This is my first experience dealing with Policy Expert. So far the experience has been positive with helpful staff on the phone but then it usually is when buying insurance. The real test will come should I need to make a claim.”

“Insurance companies seem to want to complicate matters by making the cover unclear, which then affects trust and confidence. Also had trouble paying on-line due to a glitch, which took several calls and a couple of hours to resolve, finally paying them direct - for which they usually charge you an admin' fee! They also asked several new questions when paying in person, that did not form part of the on-line questions. Did manage to apeak to someone fairly promptly each time though. Good service? Average to be honest (the proof would be how any claim is handled), but it doesn't fill customer's with confidence.”

“Policy Expert had the best price for home insurance compared to other companies which is why I got it. It was easy to find policy related information online and the policy set up and payment process was quick. The website is use friendly. I am unable to comment on customer service or pay out process as I only just bought the policy.”

“Although the website was quite easy to use, I would have liked the option to 'tweak' some of the Sum Assured by a small margin to best reflect my personal needs. I also received an email from PCL, with details of my credit agreement. This would have been deleted at first glance, thinking it was unwanted email. It would have been useful if the name reflected the name from where i was purchasing i.e. Policy Expert!”

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. The home insurance products we offer do allow for the amendment of certain cover levels. For example, total contents cover or total value of items to be covered away from home. However, we will happily forward your feedback regarding the overall cover levels to the appropriate team. Prior to purchasing a policy online, we do confirm that Policy Expert is registered as a Credit Broker with the Financial Conduct Authority, and we arrange monthly instalment payments with the lender Premium Credit. We also state that Premium Credit will send full details of your credit arrangement and that you must read, sign and return it. The information it contains is about themselves and the agreement you are entering into and is intended as your confirmation that you have read the terms and agree to them.
