Worst insurance company to get help from. I applied for benefits thru my employer and got 2 payments back in December and January, but my doctor's office was late with setting me up with a current appointment that was past the deadline and was dropped as a patient because they had not heard back from my lawyers office by a certain time, I was finally able to get an appt, but didn't meet the deadline,I explained to my representative what the issue was and I was still declined. I have a torn up knee that requires surgery and was hoping to get some payments since I could no longer work at full capacity, but dealing with Prudential has been an absolute joke, keep paying us the money, but when you need help,to hell with you. Thanks for nothing Prudential. Just want to add something else, now I see how insurance companies work and why they all have bad reviews.

My husband passed away middle of January 2024. Rang Pru to inform them. They sent a letter with a form advising me to send Death Certificate which I did with a letter informing them my last husband did not have a Will and that I, being his wife and next of kin that was why I had been in contact with them to make a claim on his Life Assurance Policies. I have telephoned Pru Customer Service many times since then. I was told on the last telephone call that they sent a letter on 11 April - which I had not received and still do not have receipt of that letter to date. I asked what was the gist of the so-called letter of 11 April and was told the matter would have to go to Probate and/or Letters of Administration. As there was no Will and I am next of kin and wife the matter need not go to Probate and/or Letters of Administration. Have made an on-line complaint on Pru's secure e-mail and am waiting for a reply. Absolutely disgraceful when I am grieving and trying to get my life in order. No empathy or compassion.

Do NOT do business with Prudential. 5 months trying to get an AD&D claim resolved. Nothing but "review" delay and stalling. Same excuses call after call.

Prudential will do anything possible to avoid paying on a death benefit claim. On Feb. 26th, I contacted Prudential by phone about a life insurance claim. The representative asked many questions and told me that my money would be deposited in my bank account within 10 - 15 business days. No need to file paperwork or provide a death certificate. (I did questioned that.) Too good to be true! Indeed it was... the following week I received the paperwork, filled out the forms, provided documents, and sent it certified mail. It was received on March 21st. Today, I made call #4 to check on the status of this claim (50 mins 31 secs). The following is a synopsis of all calls and includes excuses/reasons for non payment: - We are waiting for the funeral bill/agreement (I included it with the original paperwork because it was specifically requested. Why do you need this? I paid the funeral expenses.) - We are waiting for the funeral bill; (Why? I already told you, I paid it!) - We can't do the bank transfer because you have a joint bank account, and you are the sole beneficiary. (Odd. My joint account accepts other checks that are payable only to me. Just deposit it. My bank will accept it.) - We have to call the funeral home to verify that they were paid because they sent us a bill. (NO, THEY did not send you a bill. I DID! Your form requested funeral agreements/bills. You must know that it came out of the same "certified mail" envelope.) - We are waiting for confirmation that the funeral bill was paid. (I'll wait. Call them now.) - We're waiting for documentation that the funeral bill was paid. (What documentation? I provided the documents. Why are you so concerned about the funeral home? You have no obligation to them. Your contract was with the decedent, and I, as beneficiary, should be your first priority.) Today is the last time I will contact Prudential. I informed the representative that I will be checking my bank records for a deposit in four days, and finding none will contact my attorney to act on my behalf. So glad that I do not have any policies with Prudential.

If there was a zero star review I would have selected that. Worst costumer service I have ever experienced in my life. Hours of time on hold just to get the run around. If you have a choice on your insurance company don’t choice prudential.

Resent even giving them one star. An absolute retarded organisation. Requested a letter 4 weeks ago, it arrived over due. promised call back from complaints team never came. Immature incompetent idiots manning their phones that are incapable of going too deeply into technicalities because they know sod all. Holding on the phone for 20 minutes, getting cut off. Second formal letter of complaint now going in within the space of a week.

Worst company wherever icici name is associated with. I had to visit the Borivali west branch 9 times to close the account of my father in law. Recently I purchased a iciciprudential product and I was expect from second year a credit of Rs.42000. This company deducts the premium even on a holiday with automated ECS but for the benefits which are to be credited there is no ECS? Why I have to wait for more than 6 days for getting the Rs.42000 into my bank? When called on their customer care number they say its already actioned but will take 3 days to credit the amount. The whole company is fraud from top to bottom and rutheless.

The worst customer service and processes to make changes or transactions on life insurance policy. I am dealing with Prudential and Thrivent for my father and Thrivent has excellent customer service, response time, and easy to access forms and account information. Prudential is a mess - they are requiring that my dad send a letter, then wait 2 weeks for a response, then follow the instructions to get the form, then wait for the form - where are the secret forms he is wanting to get? The customer service agent yelled at me like I didn't understand - of course I didn't understand the insane processes she was trying to explain. What a case for a process improvement project! I'm moving everything to Thrivent.

Their customer service is in the Phillipines. Crazy background noise on the phone. Trying to process life insurance for brother who is sole beneficiary. When I wouldn't give them my SS#, agent became rude.

Similar to Mr Peters below I too have been trying to retrieve my money since the beginning of March. When the on line system failed I was told I could do it by phone after they checked with my bank, a week later and no money I was told to upload some documents online, the system failed so I posted them. A week later still no money, customer services agreed they had the documents but didn't know why they had not been processed. Another week passes and still no money. One has to assume this is a deliberate policy

I have been trying for weeks to get a copy of my 1099R for a life insurance policy I surrendered last June 2023. I've talked to multiple people and elevated it to a case manager, just to get a copy of my tax form (which is not available anywhere online (belive me I've tried). I can't finish my taxes without this form! My CPA says they should have sent this form. Prudential is telling me they don't generate a 1099R if no tax is due...Ok, well, I don't think the IRS is going to take my word for it! I need the form! I have placed a complaint with the BBB, I encourage everyone here to do the same. Overseas customer service doesn't seem to have access to any of the company's information after they were sold to Empower. It's a sh*tshow. There needs to be a lawsuit.

Remember the good old 'Man from The Pru'? Well, your memory must be good, because that is evidently a looooooong time ago. The customer service is appalling, no, worse than that, it is woeful. I try to get my yearly statements and my AVC update. Every single time without fail it is a case of needing to renew passwords, PIN number etc etc. Call customer service? One and a half hours of muzak and a loop saying they are extremely busy - doing what exactly?? It is clear they do not wish to engage with their customers and just want to take your money. Dreadful, truly dreadful experience and I am still no nearer to getting the information THEY keep telling me I need to read - but they won't let me! Soon as I can transfer out I am going to. Resting on laurels of past times as an honourable institution. Forget them, they don't give a toss about you.

I have attempting to get money out of a PruFund Investment plan since the beginning of the month. I started the discussions about how to do this on the 1st March and on the 4th March received an email with a PDF form and details of how to provide the required information on an upload form. I asked for a 1 off withdrawal but the form was for regular withdrawal. It took a further 3 days to receive the correct form and then I tried to upload the required documents via their upload. It failed and it still wasn't working at the end of the week. I tried it again on the Monday 11th March and it still wasn't working so I sent the documents from abroad (£100 cost) to get to them next day. It turns out that a letter from the bank wasn't enough for them so they requested a bank statement. Their upload form still wasn't working so after negotiations they agree to accept an email. On Friday 15th March they agreed to a 48 hour turnaround and I agreed to pay £20 for an electronic transfer. Their 48 hours didn't start until Tuesday, but I was promised that the electronic transfer would be done on Thursday the 21st March. It is now the 22nd March and on this mornings call it seems that the transfer has not taken place and they will get back to me by the end of the working day to tell me what has happened, so I am presuming that the next chance of a transfer taking place will now be next week. To be quite honest I don't believe a word of what I am told on these lines. My belief is that they simply don't want to release any money and will delay for as long as possible to continue making money on these funds and push up their results and share price either that or it is just complete dereliction of duty towards their customers.

Terrible terrible terrible company to deal with. They are holding the surrender of a life insurance policy hostage! Requested three times, and each time they asked for something different to be sent to them. Will be starting legal action against them very soon.
