I tried to set up a policy with this company, I was told that my payment was declined, only to find out that they had taken the money from my account anyway, when questioned on the phone they denied and wouldn't insure me unless I paid another £80 deposit even though I had proof of the payment they took! AVOID

Hi Hannah, I'm sorry to see you've not had a positive experience with Sure Thing! I would like to investigate this to find out what's went wrong. If you can send your details to feedback@surething.co.uk I can arrange for someone to look in to this and contact you regarding the payment situation. Thanks, Jonathan.

Absolutely avoid! This "company" is a middle-man aka insurance broker and it is not transparent at all. Just cancelled my policy which resulted in £60 cancellation fee from them as per their cancellation policy, and then there was another cancellation fee of £60 from the actual insurer I was told on the call! No mention of the second cancellation fee on their cancellation policy page! So £120 total! Absolute chancers! They'll squeeze you dry out of any remaining premium if you cancel half way through. The issue here is, BE TRANSPARENT and warn early before people sign up, if I knew about this double cancellation fee in the beginning I would have never EVER gone with this middle-man of a "company"!

I changed the registration number on my car and they charged me £30 "admin fee" I sold the car a few weeks later and was charged £97 cancellation fees. I'd already paid £90 in premiums for the three months I'd been insured to date. So in total I paid £187 for three months insurance. The annual premium was only £214 in the first place! My husband is insured with The AA and they didn't charge anything for him to change his registration number on his policy. Sure Thing are cheap for a reason I would avoid them

I was quoted in excess of £3,500 p.a.for a comprehensive policy. I obtained similar cover for under £1,200.p.a. Who would give such a company a second chance? Michael

Hi Michael, I'm sorry to see our renewal price this year isn't as competitive as it was when you first joined 12 months ago. We will certainly take your feedback on board regarding the saving you have made and appreciate that price is a huge factor when shopping around for car insurance. I do hope you keep us in mind when looking for insurance in the future as prices can change year to year. Thanks, Jonathan.

We currently have a claim we are trying to resolve. However the customer services team we have been dealing with have been almost completely uncaring. We as customers have had to contact the police and get such things as the vehicle reg for the car that hit ours as we were not present when it happened. We have also been offered no hire car or courtesy car as technically the car is deemed drivable??? However due to the damage it is not safe to leave un-attended so we can't drive it and leave it anywhere... one thing after another with this lot. We have bought a car in the meantime due to our location (we are out in the country) and have been told we cannot insure that as we have a claim. All we get is comments like 'you are stuck' etc. The worst customer service I have EVER experienced TERRIBLE!!!! I will never use these again, I will ensure my friends stay clear too.

Absolutely outraged with this company to say the least !!! Took out an 11 month policy with a premium (slightly higher than before I passed my test) they added a £30 administration fee. Then mucked the payments up twice now which resulted in an extra £40 in default charges . Now the premium is to rise by 19.9%! Taking my total monthly payments to more than twice what I would pay with a different company !!! . Was spoke to very rudely and with utter ignorance by a member of staff from the call centre. I have never had this much trouble with an insurance. Would give no stars if I could. avoid at all cost I would rather have no insurance than use this company again .

I cancelled my auto-renewal before it was due as I had found another policy several hundred pounds cheaper than SureThing! Last year I needed help to pay for my insurance so a friend put the amount on his card so I could pay him back later. Found out this morning that SureThing had already charged his card again this year for the renewal amount. I had a letter from them saying the policy was being cancelled but they were refunding £8.08 less than what they had charged. So someone completely unconnected to my policy has now had money stolen by SureThing for an insurance policy that was not only never taken out but wasn't even in his name! SureThing are thieves.

These people are a JOKE. Avoid at all cost Despite paying fully comp. insurance 4 months ago, they still haven't updated my car details on MID. This means, as far as the law is concerned, our car is not insured. They said they will update it straight away (this was a month ago when I received a warning from the DVLA). Now I have a fine from the DVLA. Sure thing tell me to put the 'latest copy of my insurance certificate in the post to the DVLA' !! Don't Sure Thing know anything about updating the MID? sending an insurance cert in the post to the DVLA won't solve anything. Only the insurance company can update the MID. What happens if I have an accident? And guess who pays the DVLA fine for my car not being on the MID? Yes, I do. Just stay away from Sure Thing, they are absolutely useless

AvOID - Will never ever use again - total rip off. Paid in full for my insurance £126.45 tried to cancel today after one month's insurance , asked what the cancellation fee will be ........ £60.00 for them and then a further £50.00 for someone else ??? the money i would get back is towards a new policy will be £1.08 - tell me what i am supposed to put that towards? Staying with them they would kindly waiver the cost of £60.00 and then increase my insurance to £198.00 - making that a grand total of £324.00 per a year's insurance. Double what i pay anywhere else! Please read this review and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM - my lesson has been learnt. Now getting in touch with the FCA to see where i stand.

SHOCKING EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bought a policy for my classic car for just over £100 but paid on installments as I didnt plan on keepeing the car. When I cancelled 6 months later I had to pay them £49.00, would of been aswell keeping the policy or better yet, righting my own car off. They then told me that its in the t&c's "somewhere". Terrible company who just want your money. Avoid like the plague......you have been warned.

This company clearly do not follow FCA guidelines. They are quick to fob you off with any dribble to get you off the phone. I would definitely not recommend to take insurance with this company or their credit provider Premium Credit Limited. It has been a terrible experience from the start. It makes me wonder if the telephone operatives are even FCA accredited.

AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!! Similar to below ..quote for changing car quoted me another 98.00 plus admin fees. Cancelled policy and have a letter from them stating they owe me 13.00. Now they say I owe them 101.00 they tried to take money from my debit card without my permission. Now threatning to send debt collectors to my door. Peter

Terrible. This really is a woeful company. Strongly advise you to stay away from these jokers! I tried changing my insurance from a 1.6L pegeout 307 to a Citroen C3 1.4L they told me i was uninsurable when trying to tranfer my policy due to previous claims (none of which i had since joining SureThing 8 months ago.) They then told me they could cancel my policy (for £69.00 and i would lose any no claims) and requote as a new customer. When quoting me for a new policy with them i found it had gone UP! A mere £500.00! How this was possible when the car and the engine size are smaller not to mention the value of the car was considerably cheaper! I then filed for a refund due to only using 1 day of my insurance having paid for the full month upfront. 11 days later, still no money refunded. I have now cancelled the policy and moved to a different insurance company who quoted me on the same vehicle £900.00 cheaper than quoted from SureThing. If you have any sense you would leave/never join such a crooked company.
