Never ever under any circmustances book with this company. There are plenty of hidden fees and charges that are not transparently disclosed in advance. Avoid at all cost.

When arriving at their Alicante desk we were forced an unnecessary upgrade to a bigger car. This car had damages at 12 places. As we did not trust it we made a movie of the entire outside of the car. When we handed it in we were accused of a new damage on the bottom side of the front bumper, totally out of sight. Our film was rejected by their complaints department: not the right format. And they refused to prove that the damage was not already there at the start. They just subtracted €260 from our credit cards. Feels like theft. It was our first Gold Car experience but definitely the last. We recommend you to never use Gold Car as well.

This mega company has zero flexibility, uncaring staff and provide cars with soiled exteriors (birdshit) and a tank that seems suspiciously not full. I will never use it again and deeply regret my misfortune in signing a contract.

They tried to scam us by not accepting our credit card when every other car hire place did. Then wanted to sell us add on insurance that was more than the car hire itself! Be warned. Stay away.

Total Scam. We took a car in Lisbon. First they scammed us to take an upgrade. They stated that the economy model we picked will no make it Jerz (add €120). Upon inspection the car had many scratches which they claimed are within allowable limit. Then a deposit of €1200 for possible damages. Another 128 fuel return deposit. The car was old with high kms (98,000 km). No back camera and CarPlay the kept on frizzing. Upon return of the car 5 days earlier due the CarPlay issues in Malaga. There was no refund for early return. We have asked for an inspection for damage. The said they’re too busy just leave the car. We insisted, after a while someone came and highlighted same scratches we found in Lisbon only this time they were out of limits. We shortly after we received an email demanding a claim fo dame €249. Also we received another email claiming the car was involved in an accident. Which is not true. In conclusion stay away from Goldcar. Will never rent a car from them!!!

Truthfully this was an awful experience. We had reserved a 10 euro per day rental deal online with our own excess insurance added. This was cheap because Mallorca in February is empty of tourists. After a long queue at the airport to get to the Goldcar desk, the agent at the desk tried to charge us over 3000 euros in payment (not block) to be held for at least 35 days to cover excess on a fiat 500 (when we'd reserved an Nissan juke or similar). The justification for this charge was a website binlist.net that the agent fraudulently used - he entered the first 8 digits of our card but did not hit "Lookup". He used this trick to try to justify that our credit card was not recognised as credit in Spain. After we had exposed that lie, the agent then got angry and said we needed to pay even more because of Brexit - and asked us what did we expect when we had paid so little for reservation... After 90 minutes of queuing then being told lies, we walked away and rented a car from another company. Read the reviews here. Do not trust Goldcar Palma with your money. Goldcar should be closed down.

I rented a car at Goldcar Tenerife South airport for 2 weeks. Everything went fine during the rental, no damages, and delivered it back with a full tank. The deposit was 1200€ , and unlinke any rental company anywhere in the world (i have rented hundreds of cars) they did`nt just hold the money, but they withdrew it from the account, which meant I lost 100++€ in currency exchange value, and also they only returned about 1100€ with no explanation to why they chose to steal money from me. I complanied, and they never replied. They are not just fraudulent, but they will also steal your money. They are thieves and criminals, and should be reported to the police.

On return home following our holiday in Spain, I was informed by your email (30th January 2024) that I had been charged an additional 60 Euros for fuel (50 Euros ‘Full Full Penalty’, plus 10 Euros for ‘Tank of Fuel’) despite having filled up with diesel just outside the airport. When returning the car at Malaga, Goldcar representatives waved me away and refused to examine the car. I asked another member of staff at the Goldcar office, who said that inspection was not necessary. Instead I was told to post the keys in the return box. (I did not think to go back to the car and take a photo of the fuel gauge before posting the keys – by which time it was of course too late as the car was locked). I regard this as FRAUDULENT on the part of Goldcar: (1) I checked the fuel gauge which clearly showed ‘full’ in Goldcar’s parking lot; (2) it would have been impossible to add 10 Euros worth of fuel to the tank – Goldcar has provided no evidence that the fuel tank required re-filling; (3) the charge of 60 Euros including a 50 Euros ‘penalty’ is wholly disproportionate to any technical shortfall (it would be impossible to return the car without consuming some fuel after filling up). Standard practice is for the car and fuel level to be checked in the presence of the customer, so that any issues (such as damage to the car) can be addressed at the time. I have hired cars in Italy and Spain on many occasions over the past 30 years, including from Goldcar (in Bari), and have never before experienced additional charges being imposed in this way.

When I got to the airport to pick up my car, the man behind the desk told me I wasnt insured. I had reserved the car through DoYouSpain and had bought an insurance with them. I told this to the man and he said that even so I wasnt insured. I ended up paying 150 euro more, which was more than the original price because the man assured me I wasnt insured. The next days I checked and I did have an insurance already through DoYouSpain. I called them and explained what happened and they said Id been lied to, so Goldcar could sell me an unnecessary and second insurance. After several calls, emails, complaints, Goldcar refuses to give me that money back. Their customer service has been horrible. DONT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

We rented a car in Goldcar rental company at Sevilla airport. Pick up process was easy and fast. There was no problems when I told that I'm going to go to Portugal (I was informed that there I need to buy additional insurance - 8 euro per day). I rejected all other insurance options. Car was almost new in very good condition. No problems with rented car during whole rental period. Return was also fast and without any problems. Problems started when I did not received back my deposit. When I did not receive deposit in 30 days I tried to contact GOLDCAR in that matter. The only option is email (no phone or chat is available). After couple of days I received information that GOLDCAR is fastest company in giving deposit back (!!SIC!!!) and there were problems with processing my credit card (I was not informed about it at all). I received ink to form I needed to fill in. It turned out that I'll receive back less than half of my deposit. It took a month (and around 10 emails) tho get clarity why I did not get my full deposit. It turned out that during contract signature person at the office included extra costs insurances that I was not informed about (and full contract was not shown to me). In total I paid 3 times more for rental comparing to price I paid when booking reservation. Some lessons learned: - demand showing full contract at the office (bare in mind that contract is only in Spanish - no English version) - demand showing all costs and deposit details before signing. - if you are asked for fairly small amount of deposit (200 euro for 3 days in my case) - it means that you have additional insurance included and you will need to pay for it.

Advokat Jovanka Georgievska 9:48 AM (9 minutes ago) to me 1)nobody comes to give us the car and to check the condition... 2)the car was not ready as we came by the appointment at the airport, and they send us with a shuttle to the another terminal and becouse of this we were late for the New years Eve... 3)they charched me for the car 140 euros online as we booked, and than for the other driver they told me to pay another 154 euros at the desk for insurance, and another 18 euros for some taxs... 4)after we get the car back as they told us,full with gas we left it at the airport... put the key in box... Everything was OK, the car was in perfect condition except that on the floor were left foot steps(which is normal) and 1 napkin that has fall of my pocket... You send me an invoice with additional 150 euros for mayor cleaning!!!! We don't take the vacuuming machine to our traveling, so it's stupid to ask for this kind of cleaning... There were no jusess, icecrem on seats, or whatever that takes the car to a mayor cleaning... The car was clean... You can see at the photos (it's only the floor dirty which is normal, we don't go in the car with socks) you send me... WITH ONLY VACUUMING THE CAR WILL VE CLEAN!!!! It's a disappointing act by the side of the company?!!! I would say you are THIEF'S. From my card is token 150 euros plus, so the car costs me 500 euros😔...FIAT 500 ....500€ for 6days!! and i still wait for answer on my complaint

We picked up the car. It had damages that were not on their sheet. We went to the office to report those. When we dropped the car off, we were told everything is fine. A couple of days later I get an email stating the damage I reported was because of me and they deducted over 300 Euros from my deposit. Going back and forth, they ask for pictures now but since they said everything was ok, I didn't keep the paperwork. I've been renting cars for over 20 years, this was by far the scammiest and worst experience I have ever experienced. Never again Goldcar for me! If you decide you want to give it a go: take pictures of everything, don't rely on employees telling you it's all good, make sure you report additional damages and have THEM record them as well, and most importantly: keep your paperwork until you get your deposit back!

Terrible Experience with Unsafe Vehicle from Goldcar I recently rented a car from Goldcar, and it turned out to be an incredibly distressing and unsafe experience. The car I was provided with was in a shockingly poor state. Not only was it visibly damaged and poorly maintained, but it also had a critical safety flaw – it lacked adequate front brake pads. Driving a vehicle without proper brake pads is extremely dangerous, and it's appalling that a car in such a condition was even part of a rental fleet. This isn't just about customer dissatisfaction; it's a serious safety hazard. It shows a complete disregard for the safety of customers and other road users. When I reported this issue to the Goldcar staff, I received an answer saying is not my responsibility. This lack of concern for a matter so grave further added to my frustration and disappointment. I chose Goldcar expecting reliable service and a safe, well-maintained vehicle. Unfortunately, what I got was the exact opposite. This experience has not only inconvenienced me but also raised serious concerns about their vehicle safety standards and customer service quality. I strongly advise others to think twice before renting from Goldcar. The risk of getting an unsafe vehicle is not worth it, and the poor handling of such serious issues is unacceptable.
