This company is a scam company. I paid for a week's hire and even paid the higher insurance rate to cover extra insurance. When my husband went to pick up the car he was told he had to put down €1500 as a deposit which had not been indicated when I booked the car. They refused to take it off our debit card and wanted a credit card which we did not have. Instead we had to pay an additional €125 insurance before they gave us keys to a car which is covered in dents and scrapes. Avoid this company at all costs. May seem a good deal but they are rubbish.

June 23rd 2015. flew to Majorca having pre-booked a hire car with GOLDCAR. Stood in queue for 3 hours only to be told that the package I bought and paid for in the UK via JET2 did not include comprehensive insurance,We had to pay 117 euros for extra insurance. comprehensive insurance has a 2000 euro excess which you can insure against, surprise surprise for an extra £41.76 invoice also shows a charge of 8 euros for delivery of the car to the airport? and 11 euros for "C. Extra vehicle" also charged 96 euros for tank of fuel which they say will be refunded less what we have used but plus admin cost. please please please avoid this company at all costs

Worst hire car company I have ever used, total con. The woman manning the desk in Las Palmas was very rude. Lots of extra (£70) charges. The car had dents and scratches all over it. No hub caps. Then to top it off they charged 30 euros for "special clean" even though the car was spotless. They sent me images of the back of the car. I was the only person in the car no one even went in the back yet they sent pics with footprint and dirt on the seats. I questioned the special clean, but they said unless I had pics of before and after they would not even look into my case. In my opinion stay well away from Goldcar. You will see they have over 3000 reviews on eKomi all 5 star, I expect these to be fake as everyone at the airport was very angry at the service received. Do yourself a favour go with another company because after you pay all the hidden charges Gold car will not be the cheapest.

They were rude right from the start when we picked up the car. Then they said we had to pay 79 euro for a full tank of gas even if we only used a quarter of the tank. fait enough if that's how it works? The car was fine for the 4 days we had it. It was just my husband and myself and we never even opened the two back doors on the car. Our luggage was put only put in the boot. When we got back to England we received a message saying they took an extra 30 euro off our card because the back seats were dirty. When we tried to argue the charge, they asked us for pictures of the backseat. If I had known they would lie about this, I would have taken pictures. I will never hire a car with them again because they basically look for ways to get extra money out of each customer. They certainly don't deserve to be in business.
