Me and my wife have been using Gousto for a long time. And I used to recommend them to family and friends. They used to be great. However lately they have gone very downhill. Boxes we have recently received often have items missing. Or completely the wrong ingredients required for the recipes ordered. The quality of the ingredients that do turn up has also become very bad.

I have been having Gousto for many many years but since the pandemic this company have obviously expanded to cater for a larger market. In the past few months I have had missing ingredients, meat that was not packed in the chiller box, grissly chicken breasts, vegetables that have been past their best and missing ingredient cards. Over the years I have never had cause to complain but in recent months the issue of missing ingredients and poor produce has become commonplace.

We had Mediterranean fish Stew with Aioli. We liked it except the Basa fish would have been more appropriate with Tilapia or haddock /cod rather than Vietnamese river fish. Another ingredient that surprised us is a clove of garlic given was not bigger than the size of a pine nut which I think is the most essential flavour for this dish. Would like to sent you the photo of the garlic but unable to do it on my mobile.

Absolutely awful, took money from my account when not authorised to do so and I'm expected to chase it up with the bank to get it back. Awful service Lee Whittaker

Great range of quality food at a reasonable price. The delivery services including fresh produce and ingredients with all necessary recipes has been extremely convenient. It needs to be noted that some deliveries have had ingredients missing in the past, however, this would happen on rare occasions. In summary, I would recommend Gousto to all food lovers out there that enjoy cooking at home.

Pros: Good recipes, makes weeknight cooking easier to plan. Cons: Generally poor ingredient quality. Woody chicken breasts, mouldy pieces of ginger, the worst quality beef mince I have ever seen. It's like meat sludge. We won't be bothering in future.

Disappointed- I really wanted to like Gousto but oh dear me. I signed up because I thought it would help us to widen the variety of food we eat. My family and I haven’t liked one meal. The recipes are easy to follow but just not that good and the quality of ingredients was also not good. It wasn’t terrible just not good for the price [even with the introductory offer) so cancelled halfway through the offer period- avoid

Gousto delivers what they say they will deliver. There are quite a lot of recipes, many that take only 10 minutes, and overall it helps take some of the pressure of buying ingredients, thinking of recipes, and cooking. Their packaging, app, and recipes, have only improved over time.

Great variety, reliable and a lifesaver for mealtimes four nights a week, Would like to see a continued reduction on plastic.

We’ve loved most of the meals with only very few that we rated as just ok.

Don’t know what I’d do without Gousto! A wonderful selection of menus, good quality ingredients and the option to add a bottle of wine or a handy gadget is so much better than wandering around a supermarket hoping for inspiration.

Absolutely love Gousto. Really tasty food, recipes are simple to follow, nice selection of meat and vegetarian dishes. We wouldn’t know what to do without our Gousto now. I’m always recommending to family and friends

We started Gousto just before lockdown, Best thing we have done. We are eating lots of different foods we would never of tried before. My husband asks what's on the menu every evening. Its like restaurant food every evening that you cook yourself. I have learnt so much about food and cooking from Gousto .

One of the best companies in the country. Absolutely love Gousto. The guy behind it is a phenonmenon too. As someone in business, I admire what he has done a lot.

Extremely poor levels of customer service and on going issues with delivery. Any reported issues are left unresolved and circulating in an on going system of review in the customer care team. I would not recommend this company

Excellent idea, Terrible service. Gusto is perfect for those full time workers who struggle to get to the shop or are sick and tired of eating the same stuff day in day out. Me and my partner have basic cooking skills so it’s actually quiet rewarding when you make something that’s so tasty... HOWEVER, a massive let down on gustos behalf, that could result in us cancelling our subscription is over the past 4months (16 meals, 4 meals a week) a large majority of Ingredients has been missing. Nothing major but this means driving to the shop to buy it. Defeats the object, If I’m driving to the shop I may aswel buy all the ingredients from the shop. This is extremely frustrating and gusto seem to give you pennies back for there mistake. My brother has been using gusto for a long time and the other week he found a hole in the raw chicken breast bag just before cooking for his family. Not so bad finding this issue when unpacking when you first receive the delivery but to find this just before you start cooking tea, after a hard days work is just a let down. On this occasion gusto refunded him £6. Not a lot considering the outcome could of been food poisoning. We all make mistakes but it is a recurring issue with gusto. The meals are not massive (like a Granmar’s portion), we find our selfs hungry a couple of hours later and just for the record I’m 5ft 9 and 12.8 stone. The meals are definitely healthier and would be great to loose a few extra pounds and there is lots of veg amongst other ingredients that we would not normally add to our diet. The delivery is spot on, every Sunday they deliver your food and they give you a 2 hour slot. The boxing is all recyclable material and has I’ve packs inside to keep your produce fresh. We will see what the up coming months bring. There are lots of similar food company’s out there. If this issue keep happening then I’m afraid we will be jumping ship.

Unfortunately I cannot leave zero stars. I have enjoyed 3 Gousto boxes and then I cancelled a few weeks because I knew that I wouldn’t be eating at home (holidays and shifts work etc). I received a box on 7th September despite cancelling the order. I would have just kept the box because I had been happy with the products previously, however I am a coeliac and every item in the box contained gluten so I couldn’t eat any of it. When I contacted customer service I was told that I had to pay half of this box because it had been dispatched, so I have had to pay for food I didn’t request and cannot eat. It’s such a shame because we had enjoyed some of the meals but I don’t trust them enough to order from them again.

I recently skipped a week before my cut off time of midnight on Tuesday. On checking my bank account I found that I had a payment pending and applied to my bank account on the Tuesday. I have queried this with Gousto as my understanding was payment was applied for 3 days before delivery is made and by my calculation that would be on a Wednesday for a Saturday delivery. Not so according to customer services! They state "Payment was not taken before our order cut-off point. We conduct a pre-authorisation payment check 24 hours before we're due to take a payment from you, which is essentially us notifying your bank that you have an upcoming payment. At this point, most banks will place the funds for your payment on hold, which for most banks, means the payment will show as 'pending' in your account. This is the case up until payment is actually taken". I little confused as previous payments have left my account on a Thursday. Despite their assurances that payment had been voided be warned it can take up to 7 days for this pending payment to disappear from your bank account and funds be released. I emailed customer services and have asked for my account to be cancelled and closed as I was only able to pause deliveries via the app. Their replies are very prompt and the food fairly good but the issue over pre applying for payment before I've reached my cut off point is unacceptable. And to top it off the email I received confirming the cancellation is entitled "So long...farewell". Maybe they might want to rethink this title - Sorry to see you go might be a little more customer friendly.

Love love love Gousto.. love how easy it is to follow, love the choice of meals, love receiving my well packaged presented box of food. Always on time as specified, kept up to date with emails.. the only slight down fall, is the length of life in some of the meats, as I buy 4 meals for 2, I Don’t always use straight away, and the life length is relatively short.. otherwise no complaints here!

My account was on pause and they sent a box saying my account was reactivated and basically said l was lying food that was in the box we don't eat after many phone calls gave me 30% off. I told them to close my account and never wanted to hear from them again customer services quite rude. Two months later l get a letter informing me l owed them £34.99 from a box in May. I rang to say how could l owe this as they had my card details up until July they gave us some flim flam about using a different e-mail address an account from a couple of years ago l am so fed up going to pay this under duress and how l looked at it the 10% they give you off your first 3 boxes they claim back . Please be aware keep a log of how many boxes you receive and how many you pay for. I do not recommend Gousto to anyone and would have put zero stars if it was possible
