Green flag has cashed money from my debit card without authorisation as they did not call nor wrote nor email me asking me if I wished to renew their breakdown cover. They did this on Sunday, the day they are closed. Yes I am calling them crooks.

Flat battery on a street in Manchester at 1.30am on a Tuesday. 2 children in the car and more than a 3 hour wait. Unacceptable.

Son drove to Uni to collect possessions and return home. Car had suspension failure. Green Flag refused to honour Recovery Plus policy, claiming he was local to lodgings, despite his home being 110 miles away, both him, car and policy all being registered at home address. Nasty, uncompromising company. AVOID.

Absolutely despicable the way I was treated following a recent breakdown . I've been a valuable customer for many years. Greenflag abandoned my vehicle and left me in a distress state to walk home. Not even an apology. I would NEVER recommend Greenflag to anyone. Worst company ever.

The worst experience ever Green flag abandoned my 85yr old wife who has cancer at the side of the road. They told her they would phone me to get the details they needed but they never did! What's happened to this company it is terrible!

We called for help for a dead battery when it was minus 2c and midnight. I advised them that I was pregnant and that wasn't a priority. They gave us an estimate of 2 hours to arrive so we found a helpful person who could help us as I couldn't risk waiting pregnant for that long. When I called to cancel the call out I was told that we then couldn't use the service for the same issue in the next 28 days even though they didn't come out. I then got an angry call from the recovery company who went to the car park as Greenflag hadn't cancelled the call out. The next day I called to cancel. When reading the cancellation policy script the man said a pro rata payment would be taken to cancel. We had paid 3 days before so that meant a payment for 3 days. He then said it was company policy to charge one month to cancel even though his script said something else. I asked if we could use the policy for those 30 days and he said no it is cancelled as of now but you pay one month.

Broke down in narrow county road with two flat tyres. Took four and a half hours for Green Flag breakdown truck to reach me. Shocking service.

Had to call out Green Flag 2 days ago, recovery vehicle, was constantly delayed ended up waiting 7 hours, phone operators repeatedly promised. times only to change them just before collection was due. Truly awful customer service, would not recommend them to anyone, will go to AA or RAC when contract ends.

Took 12 hours to get home from Essex to Worthing. Normal journey an hour and a half . Dropped me off at a service station at 4am, no lights nor anything open. I was in a car that couldn’t be locked. I was a woman by myself put into an extremely vulnerable position. Plus it was -4 outside and I had absolutely nothing in the car, no heating or anything. I waited in my car for a further 3 hours absolutely freezing alone and frightened for someone to come and get me so I could go onto my final part of my journey. Whenever I tried to call Green Flag no one even knew my calls/breakdown had been put into the system. Every time I rang I had to go through a list of questioning and each agent kept saying I hadn’t made any calls to them, EVEN though I was sat in my car half way home!!! Oh and it was at least a 90 -120 minute wait for each call to be answered! Once I waited OVER 3 HOURS! STAY AWAY.

Not suitable for business recovery Unfortunately, we will not be renewing our Business Policy, due to poor service. One of our vans was left in central London on the Embankment at 4 pm on a Friday. This was because the van was listed on the DVLA as more than 7m long and more than 3m high. I explained several times to the telephone operative that the DVLA was wrong. It was a custom rear but they wouldn't believe me and I had to pay £700 for another recovery company to do it, which at such short notice took 3 hours to find. I then had another van breakdown, I explained on the phone that it just needed to be recovered and I didn't need someone to come and look at it, but they sent someone anyway, in a small non-recovery van. This is fair enough, as some customers may be wrong, but I then had to wait from 11 am until 8 pm for them to recover the van. For anyone looking for reliable business-friendly recovery, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I had a fleet policy for a van for over a year and when I rang up with what I guessed was a flat battery due to cold weather, they told me my vehicle was out of their dimensions and they could not cover me. They had already taken payment for the following year so I asked for a refund which I got. But they clearly just take your money and hope nothing happens but if it does try to get out of doing anything. I would definitely stay well clear of this company.

abysmal, called after had a puncture and wheel nuts were not coming off. Technician arrived in an hour about 2pm, wheel security nut broke so wheel not coming off, technician asked how puncture happened, I had no idea, he asked if I hit a pot hole I said no, I was in a rural area I said I had been driving normally all day apart from pulling to the side to let cars pass on smaller road. Technician rang in as recovery home was needed told them I had hit a kerb which Green Flag regard as an accident and you should claim on your insurance and they won’t cover it, I had said no such thing. Technician abandoned me 30 miles from home in a rural area, while walking miles in the rain to a train station I called them back and after an hour the call handler had managed to get consent for a 10 mile recovery, I would have to pay the extra miles to get car home, now 6pm agreed to do next day I had to get home to take medications, there were no trains, relative had to do a 60 mile round trip to get me, got home late, soaked and freezing. Next day rang 10:30 call handler read notes as agreed yesterday booked job said they would be an hour, drove 30 miles to car they rang to say it wasn’t covered and there were no notes on the system re the 10 mile recovery agreement, denied everything and said would they like me to call a recovery company for me, after remonstrating at length they just cut me off. Spoke to claims who miraculously could see the notes and rebooked the job gave up after the eta was 6 hours, checked at 3, eta still the same, the area is so busy at their eta there is no way it would be anything but late so cancelled. Car is still abandoned 30 miles away, I need it every day for work which is with vulnerable elderly people, cancelled my policy with them screw them

21 weeks pregnant with a Toddler and sick with Pneumonia broke down visiting family in Wales on my way home on the A48 as had a doctors appointment to get to as the Pneumonia had got worse. Was dropped off at a service station in Swansea as they couldn't recover me back home to Hampshire and couldn't get me a courtesy car. Partner had to travel up on a working day and pay for a hotel for us to stay in. A week later and still no car. Not my own car or a courtesy car. My only 4 days off after Christmas I have spent 2 of them wasted at home with the promise my car will be delivered. Self employed and a pregnant mother left with no car to get to work or take my son to preschool next week. Bravo Green Flag for the worst service I've ever experienced. Avoid avoid avoid!

Broke down on the M56 at 2.30pm on my way home to Anglesey. I waited for 3hrs only to be told they were taking me to a safe place where somebody else would come to do the repair and if it couldn't be repaired they would send somebody else to take me home. I'm now sat at Lymn services waiting for the potential repairer to arrive and that should be at 10.30pm. As I'm in a safe place I'm no longer a priority despite being a lone female whose now been stranded for nearly 8hrs. Absolute joke!!

Please don’t bother taking out a national coverage breakdown policy with Green Flag. It doesn’t exist. I broke down in Cornwall on my way to Northampton and they said they couldn’t do anything for the next 2 weeks leaving me stranded. What a joke. Now I want my money back. It’s a con and so are Green Flag. The one time you need them is the one time they let you down.

Don’t work with this company ever! My car broke down on the M1 and I am waiting for my car to be delivered to my garage last two days. They changed the delivery time each time I called them. Unprofessional company!
