BEWARE BEWARE - CHARGE FOR DAMAGE NOTCAUSED BY ME. To say I am dissatisfied and disappointed at Greenmotion's findings is an understatement. As Greenmotion's conteact states, " you would have been asked to inspect the vehicle and sign the vehicle condition report, prior to the commencement of your hire, and in the event that the collection of the vehicle took place in poor weather or light conditions you would also have been advised that you had until 10am the following day to verify that you were happy with the condition of the car as illustrated on the Vehicle Condition Report." I did follow these guidelines and sent an email with photographs attached showing the damage. My.photographs 1, 2, 3 and 4. Greenmotion"s photographs, pjotographs 5 and 6, allegedly both taken at the same show two different types of damage. Again I am unable to attach the photographs. I have asked, 'Please explain to me why in the bottom photograph- photograph 6 - is the damage slightly different. They were supposedly taken at the same time." I have asked, "Please qualify, with photographic evidence, exactly what damage you are alleging I have caused. Please clearly highlight the damage.' "I feel your findings are spurious and advise, until such times as you can categorically prove the alleged damage, that you do not draw any payment." Much to my consternation the day after this email was sent to Greenmotion, they took the money from my credit card. Bumper scratch - £232.00 Damage Service Fee - £35.00 Total Charge - £267.00 DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I am very angry as I have used Greenmotion for many car hires each year. I have car hire insurance and if, or when, I havd had an accident I have immediately informed Greenmotion and my Car Hire Insurance company. IIt is senseless for me not to report damage as I am insured. I have already paid, ahead of time, for one further car hire from Greenmotion I will now try to cancel. I am thoroughly disgusted with Greenmotion. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

BEWARE - CHARGE FOR DAMAGE NOT CAUSED BY ME. To say I am dissatisfied and disappointed at Greenmotion's findings is an understatement. Three weeks after I hired the care I received an email attaching a bill for damage. I began my communication, via email,. After our recent holiday in UK, I have been charged with an admin fee of £84 for a parking fine. I have paid this even though we already left the UK. But still emails were coming in from a guys named Adam Hayworth from Goodwin Lee Investments that I still need to pay even if I already did. I responded back that this is already extortion and I will send this review to all so that they will be aware. Worst part of our holiday. Beware of this company, go somewhere else.

Never again. Typical sharp practice as mentioned in other reviews. Checked the car but missed a small scuff just under front spoiler. £355, Chips Away would have fixed it for less than £100. The car was not damaged whilst in my possession. Holiday Inn, Heathrow, M4 Junction 4 Black Kia, front spolier lower lip, I wonder how many thousands they have learnt from this? Trading Standards really need to get a grip of these people, We are all lambs to the slaughter.

I had very bad experience with the… I had very bad experience with the company and a lengthy open and unresolved case regarding company's unauthorized charges and unacceptable customer service at car rental office. Unfriendly and almost totally unreachable personnel at company's headquarters, no available decision-maker to look at the case and help with it's resolution. Car rental low prices with Green Motion is a trap. In the end I was charged twice the amount for 4 days of rental in Miami, FL, part of this charge was unauthorized amount of the car insurance, despite the fact that I presented the proof of my existing insurance coverage to the clerk at car pick-up and I was assured by that clerk that there will be no insurance charge and all the documents and the payment method that I presented were sufficient. I did not get a printed copy of my agreement despite my request with the clerk, nor I was given any paperwork during the car drop-off visit of the office. I strongly advise not to deal with Green Motion rental due to the lack of quality customer service and incompetent and not-trustworthy staff at car pick-up offices.

Beware of admin charges for road traffic offences! We hired a car through green motion and forgot to pay the DART charge (£2.50). We received an £84 admin charge from green motion for sending us an email informing us about the charge and the fact they had passed our details onto the DART team who would charge us separately for the actual missed charge (another £80). Although we were totally in the wrong forgetting about the charge, the £84 is a ridiculous fee bearing in mind the level of admin effort green motion put in. For comparison we’ve also done the same thing with Avis who just paid the charge on our behalf - no fines, no charges. Such a better service.

Return a rental car and on two rims a small bit of paint came of / no scratch but maybe of the bad roads and weather conditions! They withhold £400 deposit. On car pick up both rims on the Left wheels had scratches and they claim Ive caused it!! They pointed it out to me on pick up but on the rental paper only one was marked!! Never never use this company!!! Its a Huge Rip Off!!!!

Absolutely appalled with Green Motion. Staff on arrival didn’t even come to help us and we had travelled 24 hours with our 11 month old baby. Had to wait in the cold for our car. I demanded they bring us a car as another customer had sadly been waiting two and half hours for a car. We were not prepared to wait that long for a car after travelling for over 24 hrs from Australia. When returning vehicle we were told we had made numerous scratch marks and at the time of pick up another guy told us they were too small to be noted so they weren’t marked on the inspection sheet. They then took our money for the damages within two days and it had cleared. Disgusted with the whole service and left us very disappointed. Do not use this company. They are taking money from people and making thousands.

The Pick-UP Right from the very first step into the site office at LGW the issues started. We were early at the pick-up which was expected on our behalf and we were willing to wait for our scheduled pick up time. We had booked a large manual wagon described as VW Passat or Ford Mondeo or similar months in advance. Straight away we were offered a SEAT but were told that the cases would not fit and we would need to pay extra for a bigger car. I told them I had booked a large wagon and that if they could not provide a car of similar size I would not be paying extra. They offered me a Mercedes C230 class wagon Auto and again said I need to pay extra I refused. During the time that we were in the office, it appears another slightly more suitable car had been returned but we would have to wait for it to be cleaned. We also went to view the car a KIA Optima wagon to ensure it was big enough and similar to the car size we were expecting and had booked. The weather was mid-winter, dark and pouring with rain. The yard was covered with large ponds of water incredibly poorly lit we watched the car wash guy finish washing the outside of the car, there no other checks done to the car before the damage sheet was given to us. We went thru the car damage sheet as best we could and even queried a few things with the checkout guy this was ineffectively carried out by torchlight from the number of items marked on the sheet the car had clearly been well used and had areas of damage. We were also upsold on the insurance that we insisted that we did not need we were also fed BS on the carload that we have in the back of the wagon and that it could not be higher than the removable parcel shelf or we would get fined. My daughter wanted to use the toilet before we set off on our 1 1/2 to 2 hr journey into central London. They said we could not use the toilet and by the way, the car has no diesel in it so you will have to go and get some we recommend going back to the Tesco at the airport. The Return After our 30 days hire we returned the car to the same location as pick up at a similar time therefore dark and poor lighting. The guy checking the car in was the same who had checked us out. We left him to do his checks by torchlight. He came in and said we had scratched the bonnet, damaged the only undamaged alloy wheel on the vehicle and dented a passenger-side door. I said BS we both went and had a look he couldn't find the dent on the door, there were several scratches in different places on the bonnet as though someone had dragged something across it. He said we were only responsible for one of the minor scratches yet there were others but were not marked on the sheet !! His sheet indicates that the new scratches which we are responsible for are located in a different position to the one he showed us.

Do not use this company, they charged me £160 for a scratch on an alloy that was already marked as ScratchedOn the paperwork. . They were rude and unco-operative, when I disagreed. You will need to photo every inch of the entire car before you take it off the car park. And the same when you take it back.. leave yourself plenty of time to check it properly. The agent just said there was nothing I could do he had authorisation to charge my credit card, so I could not stop him. I will never ever use them again.

As previous reviewers have said, price is cheap to begin with. They then charge extortionate amounts for tiny marks that they discover on drop off. Stay away and use a reputable company.

I’ll give you my advice first, in case you don’t read the rest: THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM WHO WILL RIP YOU OFF - AVOID AND USE A REPUTABLE CAR RENTAL COMPANY. Really bad experience. Renting from these guys should come with a Health Warning and certainly a Financial Warning .... Their business model is quite simple to understand: They rent cars very cheaply to pull in the customers then charge excessively high fees for problems you didn’t cause, i.e. tiny scratches that were already there. You can’t prove that you caused them. The rental begins with the cars being presented to you, usually its just been washed so is still wet. You are given the keys and a paper that you are supposed to fill in. The inspector team are not interested at this point. They know that you will not do the thorough check to the levels they have been trained to and so you spend five mins on your own, note any issues then drive off. The car is is still wet and shiny. All good by Green Motion standards, everything going to plan .... During the rental there are no issues, these cars are very nearly new so there should not be any problems any way. But by now you have realised that they are very high mileage for their age and also covered in scratches, dents, blemishes and scuffs. Far more than you first saw when you were back at the rental yard, on your own with a shiny wet car In front of you. Nevertheless, all good by Green Motion standards, everything still going to plan.... And now onto the final scene, The “Money” shot which every franchisee of Green Motion waits for .. The car return scene. The punter brings the car back. Here you will be very surprised how the lethargic, uninterested inspector team jump into action. Once that car is in front of them, they will be all over it looking for that needle in a haystack. Now as the car is already covered in scratches, dents, blemishes and scuffs it won’t take long for them to find something not previously noted. Our car had over 50 issues with it, so as you imagine, they weren’t all noted. Something will be found, maybe a scratch, a dent or both. And you start asking yourself, “I couldn’t have done this, I’m a responsible driver, I’ve only driven 100 miles, kept it in a garage overnight, .....”. Don’t worry this is part of the plan. You are supposed to be feeling like this right now. The inspector will then take you to his office and tell you that “He’s only doing his job and that the repair fees are all fixed price and On the Wall to view”. Finally onto the bill, tiny invisible dents that were already there - £300+, tiny scratches that were already there £600. You couldn’t see them when the car was wet and shiny..... You get the point, a £50 rental has just become a £1000 rental. If you want a second option, Google, “guardian green motion”. The Guardian newspaper have produced several articles over the last few years (at least 5) talking about this company and it’s practises. Some Insurance firms and car rental websites have stopped working with these guys due to the number of complaints from unsuspecting customers. (I’m not allowed to paste links, so go and google “guardian green motion”) My final piece of advice if you still really want to rent a car from these guys: 1. Go and see a head doctor, you might not be feeling well 2. Get your own rental car insurance, having £0.00 excess from a specialist who is prepared to cover Green Motion cars 3. Photograph every panel on the car 4. Video every panel on the car 5. Argue about repair jobs when they are priced by the Inspection Team 6. Complain to the British Vehicle Rental Leasing Association: (I’m not allowed to paste email adresses but theirs should be easy to find - google “bvrla car rental complaints”

Green motion is money scamming company. From the point of entry, you feel like you are unwelcome. The staff will do everything possible including telling you off to sell their expensive insurance. They will tell all sorts of horrific stories which will make you feel your life is about to end or you are ending as bankrupt. Then they will tell you that your car is not ready if you don't get their insurance. After 30 minutes of our initial booking procedure, we were told the cars are not ready and will be ready in 10 minutes, although we reached on time. After half an hour they will tell you that there is another car which will not meet your specification is ready. If you accept it they will say it is a premium car and they are giving it as a goodwill gesture. We wanted an automatic SUV. They were offering me a truck. Later I had to choose an automatic compact. The person who dealt with us was rude and had no knowledge about the car they finally offered.

Such a really awful money scamming company. Staff are so rude, they don't care about you and will leave you stranded on the side of the road after you have a punture and even blame any tyre company for their incompedence. They might appear cheap but all the extras that they can add on, they will. You will actually pay more than hiring from one of the top companies. Go else where or suffer the total scam by this company who pay their staff commission for finding faults.
