Green Motion Car Rental Zurich Switzerland. I used Expedia.com to book our return flight from Dallas To Zurich with American Airlines. An Expedia promotion offer included a reduced rate car rental from Green Motion in Zurich with the stipulation that we would be shuttled from Zurich Airport to this rental facility 5 Minutes from the Airport. The cost of the rental was to be $5 per day which on a 20 day rental was a significant price break. On previous trips I had always conveniently rented vehicles at Zurich Airport for $40 - $60 per day from major companies represented there without any issues. Arriving in Zurich my wife and I followed directions to the rental Company (Green Motion) shuttle and were shuttled to their facility about 20 Minutes from the airport. After waiting in line for 30+ minutes the rental agent to service us we were told that we needed to CC deposit 400chf and pay an additional 290 chf for some fishy unclear insurance or Vignette reason and that I would be charged an additional fee for being over 75 years in age. I made the CC deposit but declined both of these other fees which the service agent agreed not to charge. We returned the car to their small facility and were directed to park inside the entrance behind other returns. An employee inspected and received the car without any claim of damage. Upon returning home I received an email from Green Motion Company claiming $2015 chf damage for an almost invisible 7 cm scrape at the driver door rear edge with attached photos and documents to make payment immediately and that 400 chf had already been debited and administration Fee of 100 cfh had been added. I have filed a dispute with my cc bank for the return of the 400 chf deposit and $100 service fee. Thankfully their attempt to charge my cc directly for this fee was declined by my credit card bank.

While in Oxford, we had a parking violation that we quickly paid in full. It was unacceptable that we then received an administration fee of 68lbs that had to be paid to Green Motion. Without my consent, Green Motion then charged my credit card twice the amount. Matter is under investigation! Why would I pay an administration fee for a parking fine that I paid in full? If this fee is not waived I will assure you that I will never do business with Green Motion. A negative review will follow!

Dit zijn oplichters. Een paar honderd meter van hun verhuurpandje in Londen City Airport is een tunnel waarvoor je tol moet betalen. Als toerist kun je dit niet weten, je wordt er niet voor gewaarschuwd en je kunt het ook niet zien; het is een standaard tunnel op het eerste oog. Je krijgt dus 2 bekeuringen, want je moet erdoor als je weggaat en wanneer je de auto terugbrengt. Dat kost je 2x 108 euro. Maar Green Motion rekent ook nog eens (2x) 80,- euro aan administratiekosten (!!!) Dat schijnt ergens in het contract vermeld te staan, maar dat zijn "de kleine lettertjes". In plaats van je te waarschuwen (je moet je op een bepaalde site aanmelden) zeggen ze met opzet niets, zodat ze elke argeloze toerist 160,- euro uit de zak kunnen kloppen. Huur hier niets !!!

Used this company for the 1st and last time and would advise against . The car we booked wasn’t available and needed cleaning . We had a hidden cost of over $1000 , for insurance because we couldn’t use a different debit card than the one originally used . Along with ourselfs were 4 other families all had issues with no car , wrong car and all had extra charges . Avoid at all costs

BE CAREFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!!!!! THAT YOU WANT TO RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY GIVE GOOD PRICE IN THE BEGINNING AND WHEN YOU RETERN THE CAR AND LEAVE THEY CHARGE YOU WITH EXTRA MONEY FOR CLEANING OR THAT YOU SMOKE IN THE CAR. AND MORE TAKE A VIDEO WHEN YOU TAKE THE CAR AND WHEN YOU LEAVE IT. IN AND OUT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEED 100 EURO TO CLEAN THE CAR MATS. YOU CAN SEE THE PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN

Rented off Green Motion in Edinburgh on 30.7.25 for 2 days. They took £1505 in security deposit, still not returned after 38 working days. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. They are clearly in financial trouble, do not use them even if they quote low, they are a bunch of rogues.

Picking up a car took about 1 hour. A car is more or less OK. On return, a tiny scratch on the bumper was found, not even a painted part - 360 euros. How the hell does this cost the price of the whole bumper? It is a matter of polishing, not even repainting, but you charged me the price of a new item! This is a scam. For sure, I'll never have any business with you. Yes-yes, you are so sorry, I know. (Corfu, Greece)

Don't rent any car from them. Very bad service. My wife and I rented a car in toronto airport and our flight is delayed. They already closed when we landed. I gave them a call next morning immediately and agreed to pay 1-day rental fee, but they got all money and disagreed to refund the rest. Very bad

Green Motion does not offer roadside assistance with their rentals. So in the event something happens with the rental, they do not offer any type of assistance. Their representatives tell you to get it towed to their location and that you will be reimbursed, only for the company to deny your claim for reimbursement. I will NEVER rent from this company again.

I booked a car with GreenMotion in Manchester England, through Expedia for a full seven days, and this turned into one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had. I was running late for pickup, so I called several times (no answer) and even emailed to let them know. When I arrived, Darren, the only person working, told me my reservation was cancelled although still active with Expedia and it could not be reinstated. What frustrated me most was that there were cars available, but he refused to issue one. He stated clearly that they would still keep my money and not provide a car. To me, this was unethical and dishonest. Instead of trying to help, Darren was dismissive and unwilling to work with me. I left extremely frustrated, thinking I had lost my entire seven-day rental. I had to go and rent another car from another company. I was trying to see if Expedia could help they didn’t do the following week I went back to Green motion in person because because I couldn’t let it go. Another employee, Omar’s, was professional, kind, and immediately reinstated the rental but I had to pay $200. This only proved that Darren could have helped me from the start but chose not to. I still hate the companies policy and think they are so scammy to offer cheap prices but hit you with exchanges for insurance. Do not book with them.

Scam. Do not rent from this company. They charged us $2,000 for non visible neglible car scratch. This is a scam to charge people out of the country with this incorrect fee

If I could give zero stars I would. Roundly leave a review with no stars. First time out of the country and experience the worse service and car possible. Two gentlemen working on 09/04/25 at 9 am super uncaring and does not belong in the industry of guest services. Car was dented, no hub caps, missing gas cap door, scratches, no spare tire, ac vents broken, check engine light on etc. I asked to pay for upgrade and they said won’t be available during my entirety of the stay. Don’t know how it’s possible to even rent this car out. We felt so unsafe as not knowing if it would break down so we decided to use only to get to our destination and park it. We ensued using taxis etc to get around. What a joke. If going to Podgorica airport I highly recommend to use another company. I feel as if I was treated badly based on my ethnicity. By far the worse experience every.

I have used green motion few times in Scotland and Heathrow branch. Always been excellent and happy with service. I used them recently and was happy with service until they have not returned my deposit. It has been over 2 weeks now and they are not responding to my emails or answer the phone.

OMG what a nightmare. Did the car rental bought car insurance in advance of the reservation as typically do not do that. When I got to the car rental agency, they wasted 20 minutes of my time making me verify other insurance over and above the insurance I bought. In addition, they had me pre-sign the day before to expedite the car rental pickup with all our details it made us do it all over again. This place is a complete scam. Total BS!!!!!!!!

I booked a rental in Corfu Greece and the entire process was beyond ridiculous. First, the shuttle was nowhere to be found. The tel# you are supposed to call to be picked up was never answered. I had to walk in the 90 degree heat with two cases for 1000 meters as no taxi was going to take me such a short driving distance. When I arrived, I asked if I had the correct tel# and the representative said: "yes". I then shared how I just walked for 20 minutes and that nobody answered. Her reply: "Can't you see how busy we are." As the paperwork was being processed, I realized I forgot my driver's license. Green Motion refused to accept my digital license. Car rental companies only make a copy of the driver's license. What difference is it? Other rental companies accept a digital image emailed. I then called Expedia to ask them to cancel or change the reservation to my brother's name and for two days later and still charge me for two days. Expedia was unable to get a hold of any representative at Green Motion. Supposedly you can only email them. This is a convenient way for Green Motion to later not accept a reasonable cancellation and refund the customer. In the end, I paid 750 euro for a car I could never rent. I then had my cousin come to rent a car and we were told there were no cars available. So Green Motion didn't lose money from a lost sale and yet kept 700 euro. It's been three days and Green Motion has yet to reply to Expedia. I will never rent from this company again. They have good rates but in the end, they will screw you when the opportunity is present. Check online, Green Motion has a terrible reputation.

My overall experience left a lot to be desired. The collection process was slow, the car was old and because I bought insurance elsewhere they held US$2000 against my credit card. My biggest issue however was that I bought a sunpass for tolls and because I left it on the windshield I was charged $300. When I got the car there was already one on the windshield and of course I did not see or was told that there would be a fine for the sunpass. I certainly feel robbed as that is excessive and I will not be using this company again.

Beware, the imposition of tolls on your car is going to cost you £68 in an ”administrative fee”. Green Motion do not openly disclose this when you pick up the car, nor when you return it. If I had known I had driven thru a toll I would have paid it but there is no notification until you receive the outrageous fee from Green Motion. It is buried in fine print in the document you are asked to sign at car pick-up, which, given every single person picking up a car is not going to stand there and spend 15mins reading!!! A verbal warning would be a good piece of customer service. Lousy and sneaky, zero stars

AVOID THIS SCAM! Bait and Switch at its Finest! I booked a car with Green Motion through a third-party app, attracted by what seemed like a great rate. I then spent $80 on an Uber to get to their location, only to be hit with a classic bait-and-switch scam. At the front desk, I was told the initial rate was only the beginning. They demanded an additional $60 a day for their insurance, $20 a day for tolls, and a ridiculous $2,000 security deposit. When I tried to use my personal State Farm insurance, which includes full rental coverage, the front desk agent refused. He claimed that under Florida law, it is mandatory for Florida residents to purchase a separate policy with at least $300,000 in coverage! A completely false and unbelievable assertion. After being told I couldn't use my own valid insurance, I realized I was dealing with a company that operates on misleading and dishonest tactics. I was forced to walk out without a car and spend another $80 on an Uber. Save yourself the time and money. This company is not legitimate. A total scam!
