“RIP OFF ALERT WITH EASY JET! They told me when picking the car up that I couldn't use any of my French "cartes de credit" or Spanish "tarjeta de credito" but then suddenly it was OK "if I paid a bit "extra". Here's the crunch: they then proceeded with a completely new booking, so I lost the money I had paid to EasyJet, ie I ended up paying twice. No choice of car either (automatic only) at Bristol Airport, I ended up having to drive a huge van which was useless to me at my final destination due to parking height restrictions. Been trying for months to get any sort of refund, but they just quote the small print.. "our website makes it quite clear...." "you signed and swiped your card" etc. Good businesses make gestures to unhappy customers. AVOID!”

“GREEN MOTION IS A SCAM DO NOT HIRE FROM THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I never write reviews but had to after my experience hiring a car last week in Greece. Cancelled my booking and forced me to hire a more expensive car. Horrific experience which cost me hundreds of euros and seems to be common place. Whatever you do, even if the price online appears to be cheaper than rivals do not hire from green motion as you WILL be stung multiple times and you WILL regret it. How this company has not been shut down by regulators is beyond me.”

“Thieves Absolutely terrible! Literally a year later coming with me with some traffic violation letter and taking money of my account without permission. Havent provided any evidence whatsoever just some letter from 'police' stating i violated the law - and not even mentioning what exactly i have done. Absolutely ridiculous. Thieves! Stay away from these dodgy people”

“They refused to give me the car I booked. What's worse is that they are refusing to refund me back. They are the party who failed to honor the service I paid for. They didn't accept the international driving permit I had and caused me a lot of inconveniences.”

“Horrible experience. Rented a car in Corfu. When we arrived the car wasn't there "because we were late". On the contract the time of our arrival was set on 10 am even though we didn't put it there, so we had to pay for another car! We had a flight at 8am so had to drop-off the car at 6. They said they will charge us 25 euros for that because they have to come there specially for us but when we got there, there were many other customers from the same flight, so they charged 25 euros from everybody. When we tried to retrieve the deposit they said on their website it takes up to 14 days, on the phone they said sometimes up to 28 days, what the hell? The worst car rental company we had ever dealt with.”

“Scam of business, can't believe they are allowed to still keep going. I should've read the numerous other reviews about how bad these guys are for scamming as much money out of you as possible. In my case, they took the booking ok no problem, took my money, but on when collecting they refused to let me have the vehicle due to some fine print about payment terms. Despite the fact I had booked and collected a vehicle 18 months earlier in the same way with no issue about payment. I offered other cards, to pay by cash, and even to let someone else use their card but they then insisted the booking would have to be cancelled and booked in their name. No doubt without refund of cancelled booking, and some then with some other excuse not to release the vehicle on the 2nd booking as well. I wasn't about to play double down only to lose yet another 100 quid. Get as much money out of the customer as possible, forgot good customer service, what a con.”

“Stay away from Green Motion Car rental. Such a terrible experience ripping off. The customer service sucks, The fleet is horrible and would suggest never again deal with them. The pricing looks cheap but there are hidden unexplained surprises you will see when you go to collect the car.”

“TOTAL SCAM!! DO NOT RENT AT GREEN MOTION!! On this website only 4% of the reviewers recommend Green Motion. Here is another extremely unsatisfied ex customer. We hired a car at Green Motion, Lefkada airport. I paid € 1,549.40 consisting of the rent (€ 557.40) and deposit (€ 992). Before leaving an employee and my family walked around the car. She made tiny marks on a form with the visible damages that were all black spots as it’s a white car. This took her a few seconds. She told us not to worry, al would be fine. It was an used and older car. On 18 August 2020 I returned the car. Another employee walked around the car and pointed to something at the bottom of the car which he thought was a damage. I responded that this was not a damage and certainly not caused by me. He didn't react to that, then went inside to get the forms in order. So I assumed it was okay. While I was waiting was astonished to see on my phone an email that came in, from which I noted that € 439 of the deposit had been withheld. The attached specification of the alleged damage was inadequate. I protested heavily against this because I definitely did not cause any damage and the charging of any amount was not discussed at all. However, the employee in question indicated that it would stay that way. He was not going to change the amount. After a fierce discussion, I left because otherwise I would miss my plane. On the plane I came to the conviction that: 1. if I would have caused the damage, there would have been white lacquer off and black spots would have been visible, just as with other damage already present on July 28 2. if this is a damage, the damage was previously repainted with white lacquer (reason it was not visible as a damage by a non-expert) without repairing the damage itself 3. because the other damages already present were black and the employee pointed out these damages to us, we didn't pay attention to a kind of dent which one seemed not to be able to see easily that would be a damage 4. the costs are not substantiated and are far too high. See a photo of visible damages and a photo of the alledged damage underneath the car. At home a again strongly contested with not fully paying back the deposit and requested full payment of the deposit of € 992. Green Motion of course only refuses. If you want to avoid beeing ripped off and end your holidays well, DO NOT RENT A CAR AT GREEN MOTION!!”

“Do not discount the negative reviews they are an unscrupulous operation and will rip you off. I have been hiring cars for over 25 years for at least 30 days per year with no issues ever. I did the mistake to go to them despite the reviews. Upon return of the car while expecting a typical sign off, their guy was out of my sight for a few minutes on the other side of the car. Then he presented me with a scratch. I did the mistake of not taking pictures of the car before returning – make sure you do that. Although minor, they asked for the whole deposit 1205£ + 75£ fee. They eventually returned half of that, just keeping a hefty amount for a minor scratch, according to their own predetermined fee schedule. I have no issue taking responsibility for anything I might have caused. I doubt this being real and I see their charges as unjustified and overblown. This was the Edgeware Road branch inside Hilton. I cannot believe they are permitted to operate, shameful. Never again.”

“Don’t go there! We got to London Gatwick airport hoping to get the shuttle bus to them and we waited for hours. Every time we called them, they always used the ‘same excuse’ to delay the shuttle bus. Our morning was ruined!!!! Never come back again and we advise whoever is traveling don’t use them unless you want to waste your whole day on your holiday!!!!”

“Beware scammers I rented a Green Motion car from London Stansted for a week in September last year, the vehicle was checked and signed off when I returned it. More than 6 months later I was hit with a bogus excess mileage charge. I have tried to contact them, but they do not respond to my e-mails. I have now had to open a time consuming dispute with my bank.”

“they are scam merchants. we picked up a car (in the dark) and checked it as best we could. drove it 15 miles where it then sat on a driveway for 4 days (1 x 20 mile journey in that time), then drove it back , to be told we had scuffed the front nearside alloy, absolute rubbish, i can hand on heart honestly say that i did not scuff the alloy and that the £160 payment was daylight robbery. the staff member who came out to check the car went straight to the wheel in question when checking the car. there was no damage or scuffing to the tyre in question which says to me it was an old scuff that they claim for multiple times.... will not be using them again.”
