“Green Motion Car Rental Zurich Switzerland.
I used Expedia.com to book our return flight from Dallas To Zurich with American Airlines. An Expedia promotion offer included a reduced rate car rental from Green Motion in Zurich with the stipulation that we would be shuttled from Zurich Airport to this rental facility 5 Minutes from the Airport. The cost of the rental was to be $5 per day which on a 20 day rental was a significant price break. On previous trips I had always conveniently rented vehicles at Zurich Airport for $40 - $60 per day from major companies represented there without any issues.
Arriving in Zurich my wife and I followed directions to the rental Company (Green Motion) shuttle and were shuttled to their facility about 20 Minutes from the airport. After waiting in line for 30+ minutes the rental agent to service us we were told that we needed to CC deposit 400chf and pay an additional 290 chf for some fishy unclear insurance or Vignette reason and that I would be charged an additional fee for being over 75 years in age. I made the CC deposit but declined both of these other fees which the service agent agreed not to charge.
We returned the car to their small facility and were directed to park inside the entrance behind other returns. An employee inspected and received the car without any claim of damage.
Upon returning home I received an email from Green Motion Company claiming $2015 chf damage for an almost invisible 7 cm scrape at the driver door rear edge with attached photos and documents to make payment immediately and that 400 chf had already been debited and administration Fee of 100 cfh had been added. I have filed a dispute with my cc bank for the return of the 400 chf deposit and $100 service fee. Thankfully their attempt to charge my cc directly for this fee was declined by my credit card bank.”
“While in Oxford, we had a parking violation that we quickly paid in full. It was unacceptable that we then received an administration fee of 68lbs that had to be paid to Green Motion. Without my consent, Green Motion then charged my credit card twice the amount. Matter is under investigation! Why would I pay an administration fee for a parking fine that I paid in full? If this fee is not waived I will assure you that I will never do business with Green Motion. A negative review will follow!”
“Dit zijn oplichters.
Een paar honderd meter van hun verhuurpandje in Londen City Airport is een tunnel waarvoor je tol moet betalen.
Als toerist kun je dit niet weten, je wordt er niet voor gewaarschuwd en je kunt het ook niet zien; het is een standaard tunnel op het eerste oog.
Je krijgt dus 2 bekeuringen, want je moet erdoor als je weggaat en wanneer je de auto terugbrengt.
Dat kost je 2x 108 euro. Maar Green Motion rekent ook nog eens (2x) 80,- euro aan administratiekosten (!!!)
Dat schijnt ergens in het contract vermeld te staan, maar dat zijn "de kleine lettertjes".
In plaats van je te waarschuwen (je moet je op een bepaalde site aanmelden) zeggen ze met opzet niets, zodat ze elke argeloze toerist 160,- euro uit de zak kunnen kloppen.
Huur hier niets !!!”
“Used this company for the 1st and last time and would advise against . The car we booked wasn’t available and needed cleaning . We had a hidden cost of over $1000 , for insurance because we couldn’t use a different debit card than the one originally used . Along with ourselfs were 4 other families all had issues with no car , wrong car and all had extra charges . Avoid at all costs”

“Rented off Green Motion in Edinburgh on 30.7.25 for 2 days. They took £1505 in security deposit, still not returned after 38 working days. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. They are clearly in financial trouble, do not use them even if they quote low, they are a bunch of rogues.”
“Picking up a car took about 1 hour. A car is more or less OK. On return, a tiny scratch on the bumper was found, not even a painted part - 360 euros. How the hell does this cost the price of the whole bumper? It is a matter of polishing, not even repainting, but you charged me the price of a new item! This is a scam. “Don't rent any car from them. Very bad service. My wife and I rented a car in toronto airport and our flight is delayed. They already closed when we landed. I gave them a call next morning immediately and agreed to pay 1-day rental fee, but they got all money and disagreed to refund the rest. Very bad”
“Green Motion does not offer roadside assistance with their rentals. So in the event something happens with the rental, they do not offer any type of assistance. Their representatives tell you to get it towed to their location and that you will be reimbursed, only for the company to deny your claim for reimbursement. I will NEVER rent from this company again.”

“I booked a car with GreenMotion in Manchester England, through Expedia for a full seven days, and this turned into one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had.
I was running late for pickup, so I called several times (no answer) and even emailed to let them know. When I arrived, Darren, the only person working, told me my reservation was cancelled although still active with Expedia and it could not be reinstated. What frustrated me most was that there were cars available, but he refused to issue one. He stated clearly that they would still keep my money and not provide a car.
To me, this was unethical and dishonest. Instead of trying to help, Darren was dismissive and unwilling to work with me. I left extremely frustrated, thinking I had lost my entire seven-day rental.
I had to go and rent another car from another company. I was trying to see if Expedia could help they didn’t do the following week I went back to Green motion in person because because I couldn’t let it go. Another employee, Omar’s, was professional, kind, and immediately reinstated the rental but I had to pay $200. This only proved that Darren could have helped me from the start but chose not to.
I still hate the companies policy and think they are so scammy to offer cheap prices but hit you with exchanges for insurance.
Do not book with them.”

“If I could give zero stars I would. Roundly leave a review with no stars. First time out of the country and experience the worse service and car possible. Two gentlemen working on 09/04/25 at 9 am super uncaring and does not belong in the industry of guest services. Car was dented, no hub caps, missing gas cap door, scratches, no spare tire, ac vents broken, check engine light on etc. I asked to pay for upgrade and they said won’t be available during my entirety of the stay. Don’t know how it’s possible to even rent this car out. We felt so unsafe as not knowing if it would break down so we decided to use only to get to our destination and park it. We ensued using taxis etc to get around. What a joke. If going to Podgorica airport I highly recommend to use another company. I feel as if I was treated badly based on my ethnicity.
