When the oil I'd chosen to order on line, turned out to be incorrect when I went to collect it, they managed to create a fake customer order and honour my Summer43 discount of 43% off. Unfortunately this is almost always the problem. The information if you put your reg in, brings up parts and oil that are not as recommended by the manufacturer. In this case my Mx5 should take semi-synthetic, and the details on line don't tell you you are ordering fully synthetic, and my astra should take fully synthetic and the details on line don't tell you you are ordering semi-synthetic. It's obvious when they hand you the containers, so then you spend 15 mins whilst they attempt to make it right. Grr.

Hello Mark, Thank you for your review. Firstly, our discount codes are for online use only for home delivery orders, click and collects or ship to store options. They cannot be used in branch. Secondly, on all our engine oils, we state what the grades are in the title and usually have further information in the product description. Our oil recommendations are those of our suppliers. Oil recommendations do change as suppliers develop their product offering, however, we would like to check both applications you mention were incorrect. I received the parts but not fitted them yet. However, the attitude on this sales person wasn't to the standard that I expected. I said that my order was 2p less that what I had to actually pay, so offered to give the 2p to him. However, he wasn't bothered.

You need to sort out your brakepads options. Tried to order some on your discount day but your website threw 30 different options from my reg all were in different sizes which obviously all wouldnt fit but gave no indication of which would be right. Now missed out on discount and i will now buy them elsewhere even at full price.

Very good ordering process. User friendly website and quick delivery. Even more pleasing than that was the price as it would cost an arm and a leg elsewhere.

I was pleased with the fact they were open on a Saturday and I could collect my part. My gripe is that it was a Click and Collect order that should of been ready in 1 hr. I waiting well over the hour and popped down to collect my part. Standing for 10 mins at the click and collect counter I was told to ignore that sign and join the queue, where I then had to wait to get served and for my part to be collected to the warehouse. Other car part vendors would have the parts READY to collect so there is no waiting around and would usually call you to advise your order is ready and waiting.

Would be nice to recieve offer details emails earlier than on the day they end, or even had offer emails come through after offer has finished

Parts were reserved online and ready for collection quickly. The guy behind the counter seemed to be having a bad day though, grunting at me and having an in work related conversation with another member of staff while dealing with me.

Great service only let down by returns service which cannot be refunded at store if you ordered online......They have to send it back to warehouse!

Hi, Unfortunately stores are unable to refund online purchases. Due to the payments from online customers being via card/PayPal, we are unable to refund in branch for security reasons and to prevent fraudulent activity. Most items returned to store are refunded within 48hrs of arrival. Thanks Matt - GSF

I think GSF Car parts, Valley road, Plymouth are excellent, they are always helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The only downside to the company as a whole is the online store. There can be a huge difference in prices between parts online and in store and because of this I am never sure whether to order online, or to go in to the store for the best price. Unfortunately this means I very often shop elsewhere. On top of this, there are frequent discount codes online, so I find myself waiting for the next discount weekend before ordering. If there was a consistency in the pricing, I would be a lot more likely to use GSF all the time. It would be great to get a response to this review, having taken the time to write it.

Hi, Thank you for leaving a review. Due to the online store having to compete in a different market to our stores, prices can differ between the two. In general the website will always work out cheaper, however on occasions the store may be able to be more competitive. Thanks Matt - GSF
