For some service items I can find GSF good value for money. In this case filters and oil. Hower for pads and discs I can find same names, or no names for 1/2 the price including delivery elsewhere. It pays to shop around.

Seem to struggle to stock car parts and end up going to euro car parts When I do visit the Torquay branch I end up waiting a very long time before a staff member actually starts to deal with you Have used gsf for many years but it seems to be going rapidly down hill and when they do actually have a part for a car euro car parts seem to offer better value for money

I placed an order for a full sdiesel service kit. Three days later (Thursday) received an email saying the air filter was a nil stockk item and the order would be shipped without it. No alternative was offered (always has Benn with alternative suppliers). The email also said parts would arrive on the Monday. Disappointing as I had scheduled the weekend to do the service. I then had a message late on Friday saying the parts would arrive Saturday. Which they did. All good and managed to do the service on Friday. Not impressed by the lack of clarity on stock and alternatives, shipping is a bit chaotic as well. Parts were all OK.

Store couldn't match the prices on their own website and so had the ridiculous experience of going out of the shop to order online on my phone then walking back in to collect it.

Not good enough. All they had to do was deliver the oil insider the container.

I pre-ordered a new battery for my wife's car. When I went to collect it from the Poole store i found a shop full of people and only one person serving. It took over 20 minutes before I was served, kind of makes a mockery of "click & collect".

Poor. I had to use click & collect as website wouldn't allow delivery

Usually happy with GSF BUT my last click and collect order was showing ready for collection, I went to Letchworth to collect, waited for 10-15 minutes for the guy to come back with my part and he said he couldn't find it anywhere. Stock control problem? needs fixing, I travelled 30 miles in total and came away with nothing.

For 2 separate Click & Collect orders I was told they were ready for collection but when I turned up to collect they didn't have the items. I was told to come back the following day but when I returned the item still was not there. Also I got overcharged for an air filter but nobody seems to care. They are uncontactable to get this resolved. The phones aren't working, the live chat is switched off and the contact form was ignored. And there is no email address published. Total rubbish. On the plus side, the prices seem more competitive than their major competitor. But poor customer service is ruining this and I will switch back unless I can actually manage to contact them to resolve the overcharging.

The deals through GSF email offers and discounts are fantastic. However, I tend to find parts aren't available or if they are they are located at branches miles and miles away. Ordering for home delivery is useless - according to the stock checker the GSF main warehouse must be empty! I am often dismayed at how popular parts aren't available. A VW Golf tdi oil filter I would expect in stock at every branch? A Ford Focus pollen filter, BMW 5 Series air filter....according to website none in stock? But when I go in branch they say they do have stock - but I can't have the discount as I'm not online. Sort it out GSF!!! Branch discount should be the same as online discount. Stop the disconnect and make it easy to spend money with you! Fundamental business must. In branch service always A1. Online / live chat absolutely USELESS!

Ordered a car battery, upon delivery via UPS it was left on my door step in a box marked fragile and to be kept upright at all times, which I found upside down. Upon opening the box, I found the battery was actually put into the box upside down, meaning the battery was likely transported upside down, which would explain the fluid all around the package. I've installed the battery and found it still to be working, but it'll likely be going back as the cell window doesn't register a healthy charge

Despite following the compatibility chart for the part I ordered, and being advised it was correct for my car, when it came through and I attempted to fit it, the hose was too short in a vital location causing rubbing and chafing which would have caused another failure had I not taken the hose to a hydraulic specialist who modified it so it would fit. I understand the responsibility for ensuring the correct part is ordered falls on the buyer, but I expected more.
