AVOID - Charged £50 without disclosure by Holiday Autos for car hire that could be bought direct for same price.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. In addition to the cost of hire I paid for full insurance cover. The supplier was Record Go at Palma Airport (Mallorca). Needless to say they asked for (a) further payment as it was a 'special car' (Jaguar F-Pace) so the cost of hire doubled. Further, they did not recognise the additional cover I bought so had to buy further insurance with Record Go. WITHOUT DOUBT THE WORST CAR HIRE EXPERIENCE since the last time I used HolidayAutos. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Booked hire car through Holiday Autos for a car at Malaga Airport through a company called Firefly. Took out Holiday Autos insurance only to be told on arrival by Firefly that insurance is not valid and Firefly charged me an extra 147 Euros. A complete scam !! Avoid both.

Booked a car online (from Australia) via their website. Booked it for 16:30 on 21 April 2019. Was out through usual immigration procedures with an hour to spare. Logged into my account to review my booked car. Result came back as no bookings available for the given reference number. Repeated calls and enquiries from Heathrow information produced zero results. My account's Booking information continued to show, "You have made no bookings to date" even at 16:38 on 21 Apr 2019. Forced to make plans to continue my journey at the last minute. Received an email confirming my booked car around 18:00, one and a half hours after it was supposed to have been ready. Despite the above, they proceeded to charge me for the car reservation

DO NOT USE Booked car with Holidays Autos from Fiumicino, Rome airport for Easter Holidays. Paid everything in full in advance, including full cover. Email confirmation came back with booking reference and sparse information about where to pick up the car. "Follow the signs for ‘Hotel Shuttles’ in Arrival Hall 3 and leave the terminal building. Outside you take the Schiphol-Rijk Express shuttle bus, at bus stop A9-13. First stop is at Green Motion/Quick Parking." Arrived at the airport with kids and bags, keep going between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, trying to locate the "Hotel Shuttles". Turn out the information in the email was nonsense. Called the phone number provided in the email, turned out for a different company that the one I supposedly had the booking with. Talked to Airport information desk, they never heard of Holidays Autos, and, they had outdated information about the two rental companies (one from email, one from the phone number). Against the odds, managed to reach the rental desk! The rental company, GoldCar, turned out professional and helpful, and they get us sorted. We had to pay anew, because Holiday Autos refused to release the booking or rebook. They just stole the funds and run. We were not told about the time limit for car pickup, and we were never sent any policy documents. The instructions in the email were wrong, and the entire experience was a total disaster.

DO NOT USE!!! booked hire car in Spain with Dickmans via Holiday autos. Paid IN FULL in advance, as confirmed in holiday autos paperwork. Arrived at midnight with children and waited for mini bus to Dickmans office (off airport on a trading estate). When collecting car we were presented with various photcopied signs saying Dickmans T&Cs supercede anything we already had. We were charged an additional €40 out of hours fee (not mentioned in Holiday autos paperwork) and we had to pay another €180 or leave a €1100 deposit for a MONTH, Holiday Autos paperwork said that if you choose not to use your own insurance they can take a €600 deposit for the duration of your hire (5 days). When we refused we were held to ransom, they said our only other option was to walk back to the airport in the dark (by now 1am) with children and try to find a taxi. Eventually had to give in and pay extra fee and were given battered car which we had to take around 50 photos to confirm the damage. We will NEVER use Dickmans or Holiday autos again and suggest others avoid at all costs. We have now asked our credit card to block any further payments to Holiday Autos or Dickmans as we do not trust them.

We have book a car with then and extra insurance they offer, this extra insurance is useless en even they say on condition is ok you will pay extra at the end normal price and more than 2 hours waiting to get the car. Do not book with them, contact agency directly. Even when u want to cancel is too late en refund not possible. Never will use this page again.

My partner had to travel to south africa urgently due to a family emergency. Whilst she was getting ready, i booked a car through their site on my credit card for collection the following day following her overnight flight. Only when i confirmed the payment you get a message saying that you need the credit card that was used to purchase the hire with. I partner took my credit card as well as all the other required documents including her own credit card as proof of ID. Well, i tried calling the customer services of holiday suto who was very poor in speaking english, did not listen or understand what i was saying. What could have been a simple five minute chat turned into a 15 minute row as you could not speak any clearer. The call center is based in the philippines, english not being one of their job descriptions to have a job there. I have now lost my money in dealing with these people. I will take it further. As i said, you get the must have warnings only after you book it. An error maybe but what the hell could be so difficult when my partner has all her own documents. i just paid for the car. What happens when a company books the car for an employee travelling on a company business card. The employee wont take the business card. Take advice and stay away from this website. Cheaper is not always best.

had to pay €100 for fuel which is refundable and €200 for insurance and taxes Instead of €10 at airport that they said was owed and documents weren’t valid (insurance)

Don’t ever trust this company! We booked the car online and it was showing a decent price, although, when we arrived in Mallorca, they have taken much more money for it!! We had to pay 65 € and eventually we paid 170€!!!! They are liars, don’t ever book a car there!!!!

Completely useless bunch of crooks. They did not tell me proof of address was required to book, and because I don't walk around with printouts of my bank statements and utility bills on me, I was not able to hire the car. Complaints process is a joke - they keep emailing me links to make a complaint and they're all broken. Do not use this website.

I’m not able to get a refund and book another car WITH YOURSELVES!! when the hire company has an hour and a half wait time to collect the car due to so many people.

Got to the rental agency. They will not provide a car as the card I used to book the car is not accepted by them. Holiday Autos, who is the broker, says it's my problem, I should have checked of they accept this card before and they will not refund the payment. They basically stole 180$ - or are at least trying to.

Beginning of March, on holiday in Mexico, I booked a car with Holiday Autos with a drop-off agency different from the pick-up one. Holiday Autos being only an intermediary, the rental had to be done with the physical renter Avis. When booking, in addition to the price of the rental, transfer fees of the car from one agency to another were charged. Since the pick-up agency was on an island, and in order to be sure that I could take the rental car out of the island, I sent an email to Holiday Autos before the 24-hour cancellation period to be sure that I could do it. Holiday Autos answered that there was no problem taking the car out of the island. The day before, I called Avis (which I had a hard time getting in touch with) who confirmed that it was completely impossible to get the car out of the island since it was illegal. I sent back several emails to Holiday Autos asking them to join Avis to confirm or deny what they told me in their email. But no feedback from them at all! They did not even bother to contact the rental agency. So I asked for the cancellation of my reservation at no cost since not only did their system let me make an impossible and illegal reservation but also they assured me by mail that there was no problem when I still had the option to cancel the reservation for free. My request for no charge cancellation fees was completely ignored and they charged me an amount equal to the amount of the rental. Because of Holiday Autos, I lost a lot of money and my last week of vacation was completely ruined because I no longer had the car that would have allowed me to carry out the planned program. I had to travel by local bus, which forced me to completely review my program. So, without hesitation, do not rely on those thieves who think only to take your money without worrying about the consequences of their own mistakes!

I called Holiday Autos as I am 24 years old and to hire a car in Ireland you are classed as a young driver so an additional price is added, therefore, talking to someone over the phone should have made this easier. The man I spoke with on the phone was very helpful although very hard to understand on the phone which made it a very lengthy 45-minute phone call and the company he recommended and that I ultimately booked through was a complete joke. The company they booked my hire vehicle was called Easirent is a completely unprofessional and disgraceful company. I was told as I am 24 years old I would need to leave a 1800euro deposit by the man I spoke with on the phone. On arriving in Dublin I was told the law had changed the day before I arrived and I would need to leave a 2500euro deposit. I received no email or notification informing me of this and I booked the car 3 weeks in advance. They then told me I would have to take out insurance with them... long story short they wanted 500euros with a 2500eruo deposit to hire a car for 4 days.... I was lucky I wasn't taken for a mug and left to hire a car from another company. I lost a £30 deposit I put down to hold the car and it cost me £45 in phone bills to call them. If you are reading this dont waste your time with this company its not worth the hassle when you are trying to have a stress free time on holiday. I have lost a total of £75 for a car that I never hired.

I have just had a horrible experience with holiday autos in Judd street where I was meant to pick up my car for the school holidays today. I do not have a credit card -never wanted or needed one I use my debit card for everything. Beware you need a credit card to get one of their cars! I presumed my card would be fine. They would not let me have the car AND I have lost £178 car rental money! this was to entertain my 3 kids for the holidays ,we were going to visit family at the sea-side and now cannot! Holiday up the spout. Crooks.
