“I have purchased 3 pairs of shoes/sandals from Hotter in the past. This 4th pair was cute, but wore them ONE night and my feet were so sore and callouses on the little toes. They will not return worn shoes...excuse me, how can you tell if they are comfortable (like the others were) if not worn. I will never buy from them again and I feel I was a good, repeat customer. I will only buy from a reputable dealer where items can be returned or exchanged.”

“I’d had these boots for 12-18 months hardly worn, put them on to go the armistice day parade and the soles have fell to bits. Got this from them Thank you for providing the information regarding your Hotter product and the disintegration of its sole. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a record of purchase which would suggest that these were purchased many years ago, and we do have to take the age into consideration; in addition, long term storage and infrequent wear may be contributing factors to the issues encountered with the soles. However, we do not expect this type of issue to occur. We thank you for your feedback and deeply apologise for the inconvenience caused. In the years since your product was manufactured, we have, through natural production processes, modified the materials we now use. We can assure you that this type of incident should not arise in our more recently produced products and we sincerely hope this will restore your faith in us and not deter you from choosing Hotter in the future. As a gesture of goodwill, please accept a £15.00 Hotter Gift Card from us to put towards your next purchase; this is valid for two years and can be used in-store or through our mail order system by calling 01695 213 213. Please confirm you would like us to send this to the address you have previously provided. Again, we deeply apologise for this issue and look forward to. Guess what they can do with their gesture of goodwill !!!!!!”

“Wow! Not surprised by so many poor reviews. Bad sizing info, way oversized. Then they charge you for the return. AND poor tracking info setup. I wont order again seeing all these bad reviews.”

“Bought new pair of Hotter Relax Slippers/ My old pair had a suede top and soft inner, They were very comfortable and lasted a long time. The new pair are stiff and nowhere near as comfortable.”

“I ordered a pair of shoes from hotter online. I had to return them because the style was not right for me. I just want to warn people that you have to pay for the postage in both directions, so it cost me £6.45 to try on a pair of shoes for 2 minutes. Email exchanges with customer services were unhelpful saying: 'We endeavour to make this information clear in our catalogues and online'. As far as I am concerned it was not clear. When you don't have a Hotter shop to go to you don't have a choice... Well that is not strictly true... I choose never to use Hotter again. Absolute disgrace.”

“Customer service is a total joke. I have one order that supposedly shipped 10 days ago but tracking shows it hasn't moved since then. Repeated calls to Hotter have accomplished absolutely nothing. They refuse to look into it and suggest the shoes have magically arrived in the US despite zero evidence otherwise. If you cannot support your customers in the US, do not offer sales and shipping to the US.”

“Recent visit to Hotter as noticed 40% sale on all boots. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Tracy in the Dorchester branch. Not only did she measure my feet, recommend a suitable boot and ultimately saved me over 50% on a very nice pair of gortex walking boots. Tracy was so helpful and and asset to Hotter Dorchester. Well done Tracy.”

“Hotter are not so hot when it comes to durability. We bought a pair of Hotter boots from a reputable store on the basis that this store would provide a reliable source of footwear and discovered Hotter footwear to be very poorly manufactured. The total failure of these boots is both down to the materials used and their construction. The sole is a total shocker as the rubber is simply not fit for purpose and eventually just disintegrates whilst walking. It simply fragments and falls away from the boot. I have NEVER seen such total failure of any footwear and the fact both boots displayed similar construction breakdown shows it is not simply down to a faulty shoe. Hotter is a shoe company to avoid.”

“Arthritis has done a number on my feet and I purchased a pair of closed toe shoes and then a pair of sandals. Wonderful workmanship and no rubbing! Getting ready for winter and some new shoes! My husband always remarked on English shoes!”

“After years of buying Hotter shoes I have been trying to buy a pair of Molly trainers. After 3 goes at ordering , 2 of them by Hotter customer services, I've just been told that they aren't available. The money will be refunded apparently. It shouldn't have gone out of my account until the shoes had been dispatched! Disappointing.”

“Hi I have always bought white and black ballet shoes with a smart bow on front perfect white comfortable shoes could where with a dress same in black .So disappointed stopped selling them nothing really smart enough to wear with a dress.Any chance of bringing them back.They were definitely 5 star and worth every penny.”

“I bought a pair of sandals which where to big sent them back 26th July have not heard from hoitter no refund even though they arrived 2 days later sent recorded letter with details nothing. you wont get my custom again or recommend very disappointed.would still like my refund”

“Used Inpost for a return as requested by Hotter to be paid for by me incidentally. Their tracking system makes no sense to me and is not frequently updated. Cannot contact Hotter - no reply from emails or phone calls. I have spent ages on hold on several occasions. Do they ever answer queries? Quality of shoes nowhere near as good as they were. After using Hotter many times in the past will not do so again.”

“Visited Dorchester branch with shoes i bought there recently. After wearing a couple of times one shoe was rubbing on a toe causing a blister. I was very impressed with the attentive customer service I had from the assistant.For years I’ve been buying Hotter shoes and look forward to seeing this Winter’s range. I have now convinced my husband to buy Hotter shoes.”

“I bought wide fit sandals but when they arrived, the sole width seemed narrow. They had taken a week to arrive. The refund took over a week. I used the enclosed pre-paid label. Hotter deducted nearly £7 from the refund. Hotter, you have lost my custom.”

“I ordered some sandals, 2/8/22 they said delivery would be 15/8/22. They never came, so I contacted customer service by email. They did reply, and told me the shoes were unavailable. They released my funds back to me. I don't think the shoes were available in the first place! Very bad service so I Googled and apparently the company is up for sale....sounds like I was lucky in that I didn't lose my money.”

“The worst customer service I have ever seen. 8ta basically NONE EXISTING been calling their customer support team for 2 weeks now to no avail. Also sent various emails during the last few weeks and no response there yet. Baffling to say the least. Shame because you make nice shoes.”

“I bought 2 Pr of sandels 1 pair was fine so thought I would order another pair within the same week .I put on the second pr and tripped up twice on returning home I looked at them and the sole was not stuck down it was all coming away that was one wear. I sent them back with a letter saying how dangerous they were a young male on the phone said they had a 21 day policy to get my money back ?? How many people read there policy I.m on 21 days today still no refund ? I will never buy again from them they don't even know if they have recieved them and I have my post office returns receipt ??”
