I would give 0 starts if I could. I ordered things online. Firstly, one of my items was out of stock, they told me this only after I ordered, they couldn't say it as I was shopping. Then, the items came and they looks nothing like the website: cheap, horrible, like I bought from poundland, not HOF. Then, I open a bag labelled "0-3 month old baby-suit" and there is a massive bra! Which needles to say, I never ordered. They messed up obvs. So, to top it off, I contact their shameless customer service. I swear some machine was talking to me and not a person. This "monika" told me that she will send me a return label to send the item back and THEN get refunded (mind you I don't have a printer, so now they are inconveniencing me to go out find a printer , and go to post office), and the worst she said is I won't be getting a refund, if I returned any of the items, but store credit. Shame on them, I thought they were a good store. They are horrible, like out of a third world country, not one of the biggest chains in England. I will never ever buy anything from them AGAIN.

I have been a regular customer of HoF for many many years, sadly the shopping experience has declined over the last couple of years but since it has new ownership online shopping is no longer competitive and costly to the customer. On almost £300 of goods I had to pay £4.99 postage where other companies are free but as nothing was suitable when I returned it to the store I was met with it has to be returned by post and at my expense, again competition is free returns. It cost me £11 so I paid £16 out plus a wasted trip to the store for nothing. Sadly this is the end of a long relationship I will not be purchasing from HoF again! Others take note re online purchasing costs!!!

The worse shop on planet. Waiting for my refund for two months now. They have been ignoring my emails. I am considering legal action and will be contacting my solicitor. I give a VERY NEGATIVE Review of your service (-10). People beware!!!! House of Fraser has lost its reputation. Very sad. Will not be buying from them again. Ann

Tried to purchase something in homewares in the Victoria store, as per usual there were 0 staff to be found so waited for 10 minutes at the til and then went hunting for someone so i could make my purchase. I was then verbally abused by the male member of management staff I located who was meant to be serving me because i was trying to make my purchase partly using a credit note. I was accused of being an "idiot", trying to "rip off House of Fraser" and had vile misogynist comments made at me simply for trying to purchase something. The CS team told me I had to go back to the store and deal with it directly with them because it wasn't their policy to deal with things that happen in store, problem being if he was management he wasn't going to escalate a grievance against him and why should I have to go back to deal with some one who swore at me? On top of that i eventually completed my purchase online it was sent to me and was faulty, i had to pay £15 to return it because you can't return online orders in store you have to return at your expense and now I have to wait up to 30 days for a cheque with my £15 back!! It's honestly no surprise they're going under, no staff and when you do find them they're abusive, terrible customer service and faulty products!! APPALLING!

Don’t order anything from them. If it’s out of stock they’ll still charge your credit card and you won’t get your purchase, good luck getting an email response from them or your money refunded. Criminals have more integrity than any retailer linked to Sports direct.

Worst delivery experience and customer service ever. I ordered my items twice; the first time, they never arrived (but it was partly my fault). Still, I haven't received a refund, almost a month later. Second time, I order the same items again, and this time one out of three items didn't arrive. Still, I was charged for it.

Bought 3 dresses online, paid for delivery ( no delivery charge over £50 for John Lewis). None were suitable, returned at great expense by post( my fault -hadn’t read items could not be refunded in store)Refund to my PayPal account was £7 short & several weeks later no reply to my emails as to why has been forthcoming. Will NEVER shop HOF again in store or online.

Bought some cologne and calvin klein underwear as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. The cologne came in bubble wrap and was fine, however the calvin klein comes in the usual box and the box when i pulled it out the parcel was absoloutley filthy, covered in black marks and ripped as if it had been thrown around like trash. Totally unacceptable that ive bought a brand new product and to have it turn up in this condition. Dont bother ordering from here.

Received such poor service from the Meadowhall store recently. Really rude staff in the dreary, poorly lit, cluttered and unappealing meanswear department. Will not ever visit again. (By contrast, the Lincoln branch is excellent!).

This is simply a complaint about how incompetent the staff are and that when there is a sale and the labels are not marked the computers don't pick up the sale items. You then need to wait for them to go look at what the items are being sold for in the items area. Its a complete waste of time, this is not the first time that its happened and it continues every time I complain. There are no tills to be found so you walk around aimlessly until you find one to then have one of the worst customer service experiences, I cringe every time I want to buy something at this store, because I know that there will be something wrong with the price or the individual serving me will be completely under trained and unable to preform the most simple of tasks. Besides how slow they are, people have things to do and are not there to hang out while they figure out how to use a computer or figure out what the price is. I have walked out twice now after trying to buy something, it really makes you angry!!!

Like a lot of the public I have a soft spot for House of Fraser. It's obvious the way we purchase goods has changed and effected the High Street in unprecedented ways. The shop used be filled with great clothes and great brands. It used to be a joy to shop there. Now all you have is the Mike Ashley effect seeping out of it pours. It is just another grotty discount store that charges a significant amount of money to deliver to branch and charges you to send the packages back. They will take your return and give you vouchers however. The computer systems are old and it takes an age to buy anything, the staff seemed to have given up, the branches have no music, no atmosphere, half the display aftershave bottles were empty, most product had no prices. Mr Ashley's stake seems to be the final nail in the coffin. Time to put with once fine grand old Dog to sleep!

Received package of 4 lots of shoes. It looked as though the boxes had been kicked around the warehouse and when one of the boxes was opened, there was only one shoe inside!! In another box, a pair of leather boots that were scratched! As everyone else, had to send back at a cost of £17. Never again, especially after paying £5 delivery fee.

Their new rules lost me £350! I was trying to return my order in store immediately after picking it up and I was refused a refund due to NEW RULES. House of Fraser almost went out of business and now under new management from JD Sports, unbeknownst to its customers they changed all the rules, but not branding, so they are still masquerading as the old House of Fraser we used to know. But no, it's a lie! The issue that I had experienced was: I returned the entire order by post as they refused to take it in store. House of Fraser provided no post label for returns (new rule!), you had to sort out postage by yourself at the post office and pay for it yourself. After 2 weeks I had not received a refund. I made an enquiry with the Post Office using my receipt. Post office website states “the status will be updated when we attempt delivery” suggesting delivery was not made after two weeks. Therefore I called Royal Mail to investigate. Royal Mail advises me that they can never confirm if a first class item is delivered as, unlike signed for or recorded, it is not signed for. I started writing to House of Fraser asking them to check the warehouse as it’s the only way to know if the package was received. They refused to check the warehouse telling me that the Royal Mail status tells them the package was not delivered, despite my multiple attempts to convey the explanation I received from Royal Mail. They also refused to raise a complaint. HoF instructions say: keep your postage receipt - which is what I did and i provided. However, they refuse to provide me a refund on the basis of my receipt. I am owed a refund, and a compensation- I spent days because the customer centre employees lacked any initiative to help investigate and I had to send 2 emails each time to get just one response, most points in my emails have been completely ignored. There is no number to call, no-one cares. And I lost £350! thats a lot of money.

So disappointed with my beloved House of Fraser. Shopped with them lots years ago and ordered online from them recently, having to pay a quite hefty delivery charge, but I know this is probably due to their recent 'takeover' so I paid this reluctantly. However my BIG gripe with them now is that when I went to return some items to store (because that's what you do nowadays right?) I was told I could not return to store, only by post. Seriously? In this day and age? No wonder they are losing sales! Not only this but as my items were quite bulky the cost of postage was £11.00! So now House of Fraser has most certainly lost another online customer. I may well still visit the shop (if nothing else I want to stay loyal as I would hate for them to leave our high streets, that would be so sad) but I will NOT order from them online until they change their delivery and returns policy.

Absolutely awful experience, I actually had better make up going in than what I did going out , girls are lovely but not experienced to work on a make up counter! On the day I wore white trousers , while getting my make up done the girl didn’t even offer me a towel or tissue to put over my white trousers , she had dropped excess make up on my white trousers , so unprofessional, the make up was just awful, girl didn’t ask what colours I liked and didn’t like , no shading on my eyelids , I looked like a clown , I just don’t understand why girls like that get jobs on these counters if they can’t do make up , they are supposed to be representing one of the biggest make up brands ! I just hope no one else has this experience I had !

Delivery in 4 to 5 working days....what a joke! Order placed 10 days ago, has been ready to ship for 7 days but still not been shipped. Terrible service, no phone number to contact anyone, online chat cuts out. When you can get online chat they blame it on the warehouse. Still no delivery and no indication of when it will arrive. Will certainly not be ordering from House of Fraser again!

Delivery guarantees useless. Unable to contact anyone Unable to cancel order. Happy to take you're money, but not deliver the goods as paid for in the allotted time. Then no communication to you to keep you updated. You are left in the dark. Minus money. Minus goods. No one to talk to . ...to sort it out!!!!
