Never in my 59 years of life have I received such horrible customer service. I received a notice from ikea this morning saying my order was ready for pick up in Bayamon. I called in to ask them to deliver it to my home address. After being transferred 4 times and speaking with 4 different reps (none of them really seemed to want to help) they finally told me it would cost an adtl $55 dollars to deliver to my $51 dollar order to my home; when I placed the order, the delivery charge showed up as $8.95. Since I am a good 2 hours away and was not aware I needed to pick the order up in 48 hours, I asked what other options there were. the rep said I could cancel the order and wait for a refund. Unfortunatly I have absolutley 0 confidence that a refund would ever be issued and really have no desire to ever again call ikea for anything, much less to follow up on a refund. It would have been nice had the rep offered to cancel my order adn issue a new one w/ the $8.95 charge but that would be GOOD customer service which apparently is not what the IKEA reps are trained to provide.

Most of the stuff we bought today was ok, except for the lamps which had no bulbs in them and the metal letter trays which cost £9.50 but weren't worth 50p scrap values the screw threads in the metal tubes were no good and the threads on the fixing bolts were already stripped. Absolute rubbish.

Ordered from here a couple of times now. Product quality is the same as any other cheaper-side catalogues. Initial delivery timescale is ok, but in the event of issues, there is a difficulty in getting answers. Most recent order, a lamp was loose and unpackaged, under other glassware so this was broken. A new one was arranged for a week's time, fine. BOTH wardrobes where missing screws - I was told multiple dates for getting these, lady on the phone was very unsure. At first it was 2 days, then maybe in with the lamp order, then a full week. The screws are in stock, and I know DPD work on a shorter timescale than a week - the staff member being so unsure on the phone makes me doubt she got it right. Nothing to recommend.

I had a very unpleasant shopping experience with Ikea. I had placed order for a wall shelf and opted for truck service which includes assembly service. I paid a total of $107.83 ( $70 delivery fee, $4.93 assembly, shelf $32.90 as well as 7% GST). The item was delivered 2 days later and I was told by the delivery man that he is not the one who is doing the furniture assembly and i waited till late evening but no one came to do the assembly of the wall shelf. Hence I called Ikea customer service support and was told that they need to contact the delivery team- which is Ikea’s service provider -MGL SCM PTE LTD to get more details and they will return my call. As drilling could not be done after a certain timing so I have to wait till the next day for the assembly of my item. The next day, as I did not get a return call from the support staff, I called Ikea customer support several times and each time I call, the customer support office either told me that they could not reach the service provider or they will get the delivery team to call me, which they didn’t. This goes on for half a day. Feeling frustrated, I requested for a refund and intend to find my own handyman, but the amount to be refunded is only $4.93, meaning that I paid $70 just for delivery alone and this is really unacceptable. Hence I decided to wait for them to call me and confirm the assembly time. I did not receive any calls AGAIN. Out of frustration, I called ikea hotline and demanded that my case to get immediate attention and the customer support officer eventually told me that the delivery team will send someone down tomorrow at my preferred timing to do the assembly. The man who is doing the assembly will also give me a call to confirm and he did called me and said that he will come between 1 to 4pm. The next day, I waited for the person to come but no one turn up when it was already 4.30pm. As I have the person number, I called him to check whether he is coming to my house to assemble my item. And he told me that he is still stuck at another place doing work and may not be able to do the assembly for me today. Unable to make decisions, the man gave me his supervisor no to call. So I spoke to the supervisor who apologised for the delay and assured me that he will send another team of workers to do the assembly for me. Finally, the work is done in the late evening after so many calls are made to chase them. The service provider is not only unreliable, they also have poor planning and time management. This is not the first time that I purchased from IKEA but this time round, it caused me so much frustration that I will consider twice before I purchase from ikea. ikea should also consider sub contracting to a more reliable company to do the delivery and assembly to assure service quality.

I rarely write reviews. However I was so disappointed when I went the Portland Oregon. The store was unstocked. It was messy. The ground floor around the candle area was the was the worst. There was dirt on the floor and empty shelves. We went there to eat. I love their desserts. They did not have any. They said they ran out? I have never seen it like that. So disappointing.

Very disappointed in my visit to the St Louis Ikea store. There was only one person working Smaland so the my family card said I could have 90 mins at smaland the attendent said we could only have 60 min and that is really only 55 mins when they beep you. We were told there is never more than one person working there and that person seems to spend most of her time checking kids in and out, not watching kids.

Bought an IKEA kitchen, so far very happy with the quality and installation but 2 pieces were paid for and not received since 11/18. I feel this product should be shipped to me first not other stores since I paid for it . No customer service at this place at the corporate level

My family and I had a horrific experience with IKEA yesterday. After finding out that we had to pay and then pick up an item with customer service, we headed to the waiting area. First and foremost, I believe someone should have informed us how long the wait would be - to give us the option to stay and wait or to leave and come pick later to pick it up. My family and I waited for three hours. Beyond ridiculous. After an hour and a half, I finally couldn't take it anymore so I went up to the desk and asked what is the hold-up because our number was in the "red zone" for all this time. The rep. told me that our merchandise requires a forklift so that's why it's taking so long and to give them another 15 minutes. 15 minutes turned into 45 and still nothing. IKEA got to do better before they start losing loyal customers. Because this experience has left a bad taste in our mouth.

We went to Ikea Richmond looking for particular product items. The display gave the Item no., the Aisle no. & the Location no. as usual but when we went to pick up the items from the actual Aisle & location nos., the products were out of stock and this was also advised to us by one of the customer service officers who also mentioned that Ikea would not restock the items. WHY ON EARTH DO YOU HAVE THEM ON DISPLAY THEN - JUST TO WASTE CUSTOMER'S TIME!!!!!!!!! We then had to go to Springvale to buy all the items we were looking for. YOU KEEP TREATING CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS RICHMOND, YOU MIGHT ASWELL CLOSE UP SHOP.

Whether or not something in your basket will actually be available for home delivery seems very fickle and not remotely clear. Frustrating experience. Also, one of very few companies to not offer free delivery above a certain amount. Also, sent wrong colour of one item (hard to understand because 3x white was ordered and received 2x white, 1x black). Not cool.

I'm giving 2 stars because the service we received in store was fantastic. But, the 'distribution' delivery was terrible, delivery was booked between 7-11 am but didn't get delivered till 13:10. Plus there was a shelf missing. Very disappointed with your delivery IKEA!

#reallyikea? Ordering online should be a piece of cake - and it is - till you discover that your ordered one of the products wrong! There is NO way you can change it. You have to cancel the whole order and start again. Since I needed the delivery date, I thought I would call and get someone to help me -LOL! They have a standard recording that it does not matter when you call, you get the same message and get disconnected. Never mind I thought and drove 45 minutes to the store, waited in line for 30 minutes (was 2nd in line!) and then was told that I could cancel the whole order and buy the same stuff, except I had to pay for it again as they could not apply the online payment credit to this. Seriously? In this age? For a corporation the size of IKEA, this is a problem? Then I was told that I could send one of the items back (maybe) and then the money would be credit to my card (maybe) or I would get a store credit card!! Seriously? The only good thing was the young man Pablo waived my delivery fee if I bought the correct item. But he had no way to correct my order and my request to see a store manager did not go anywhere. "Online is not this or any other store" I was told. I did think the quality of their product had improved and really wanted this. But I am going to be reminded of this every single time. I have still not decided what to do about this, but I think I will cancel the order. Hopefully will get my money back!

Although I LOVE the fact that they now have online ordering and that you can't beat their prices anywhere, it just takes forever to get what you've ordered. I ordered a simple frame and it will take almost two weeks to be delivered. Delivery was more than the frame so you would think that was an expedited charge. There is no way that it costs IKEA $10 to ship a frame that weighs just a pound, if that. The only reason I ordered it was because they are the only place that offers an 11x20, which is an odd shape. I miss living close to an IKEA but I will be near one when I go to Orlando around Labor Day. I hope IKEA monitors these complaints because they are very informative from a customer's standpoint. Speed up shipping IKEA! Two weeks for a frame. Seriously?

The quality of the furniture is good, the price is good, but the delivery sucks ! about two weeks ago I ordered for 2300$ of furniture and it was suppose to be delivered on the 13th, on the 13th only HALF of my sectional was delivered. My two queen beds, my table, and the few others things were not here. They told me it will be delivered on the 31th ! and that's really bad timing for me. If I had knew, I would have ordered somewhere else. I use to shop at IKEA in Switzerland but they just lost a customer. I will not shop there again.

Since I shopped at their first American store in Woodbridge, VA the year it opened, I have always been a fan of IKEA. I have built three IKEA kitchens, spending tens of thousands of dollars. But their customer service is terrible. It is, in fact, the polar opposite of companies like Amazon. I received an online order of tableware that was poorly packaged and completely shattered. No way to get through to them on the phone because of too much volume (you know how to handle too much volume: get more customer service representatives — learn from Amazon). Can't submit anything via email because the form requires information that I don't have. There's not a lot of money involved — about $25 — so I'm going to stop driving myself crazy. But I'm not going to order from IKEA anymore. The same — IKEA branded — merchandise is available on Amazon (yes, it's more expensive, but for the extra dollars I get good shipping and excellent customer service). IKEA: you should be ashamed.

Products are great, but customer service online is horrible. If you have a question about an order, check order status, or cancel an order be prepared to wait 90 minutes plus. Very poor method of online customer service. For a huge company they have no online Chat Session, and if you decide to email them it will take days for a response and typically get an automated response. I order a bed online 4 weeks ago for delivery yesterday. I took the day off and waited all day it never showed. After 3 hours of waiting online and being transferred they told me pretty much nothing and it was delayed and not sure when it will be delivered. Unacceptable! Got transferred to another line and waited another 45 minutes to cancel the order. I will NEVER purchase from them online again!!
