The furniture I purchased had missing items. They gave me the option of waiting 5 days for the items to be shipped or come back to the store. If you have time to waste go to ikea

Have to say this is one of the worst websites that I have ever seen. Maybe your business model is currently a store-based one; you had better that change that posture if you expect any return business.

The nightmare started when I purchased pair of blinds for 10,77 EUR and left unaware about a big trouble awaiting me!, after a month while checking my bank account, I got a big shock when found out that IKEA has withdrawn 21,62 EUR, I immediately called my bank and informed them, they suggested to return the amount back, so I agreed because I thought it was a mistake from your side, the very next day I visited your store only to check this issue, your employees said the problem is from the bank and not IKEA, then I called the bank and they promised to call me back in 24hrs, 2 weeks passed with getting any call, then received a letter from a company called (Plöckl. Inkasso) claiming for 112 EUR! I checked with the bank again, they denied any responsibility, now I am stuck between IKEA, the bank and your agent! I informed them that the amount has been already paid, please close this silly case as I don't overdraw if I tell you more than 30,000 EUR spent in their stores in Riyadh, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, every single household was purchased only from your outlets. This was the letter sent to IKEA customer service, asking for help. The answer was simply "Nothing we can do!" It seems that they are doing good businesses through making big deals out of unintended innocent mistakes!

A really disappointing experience after ordering some kitchen units. 2 drawer fronts were ordered incorrectly and it was over 8 weeks before we managed to secure these - after they had been delivered to completely the wrong address! I spent hours holding for the customer service centre and further hours on the phone when I finally got through to try and resolve the issue. The first order was incorrect, the replacement order was mysteriously cancelled and the third order was finally placed only after a 45 minute phone call where I was insistent that it was done while I waited on the line. I was told DHL would be delivering the units but after calling 5 different DHL depots I gave up as none had any record of the reference I'd been given. Needless to say I registered a complaint with IKEA. An expensive process for two drawer fronts!

I strongly advise you to never order from Ikea online. Although my order arrived on time, there was a problem with the Nockeby couch I had ordered. It can be assembled with the shea's on the left or right, so I assembled it the way I thought I had ordered it...only to find out the slip covers were sent for the opposite direction. No big deal, right?...just replace the covers? WRONG! Ikea insists that I received what I ordered, though there is no way to prove it as I can no longer see my order online. I said, "ok, well lets just return and replace the slip covers". I was informed that to do that I would have to disassemble the entire couch, rebox it, pay a pick up fee, reorder, and reassemble the couch. I was in shock...so I asked if I could just return the covers to the nearest store and replace them...again, the same answer....I would have to return the entire order to get (2) slips covers in the opposite direction to the ones I received. I have never received such poor customer service in my entire life. I spent over $2100 on this order and I promise you I will never spend another dime at Ikea. I hope this helps someone and wish I had read this review before buying at Ikea online. Big mistake

Well - I would love to write something here that is new and informative, but it looks like over a hundred people have beat me to it. Order online. Order delivery required being home between 09:00 and 13:00 on a Saturday... show up at 14:30. Lost day. Quickly check materials, and they "forgot" cross braces. As the delivery drivers called to see if I was home, I was able to call them. They indicated that yes they have them, but they had too many deliveries to make to drop them by and would mail them... really? Sorry to inconvenience you. Called (on hold 37 minutes) Ikea 4 days later when they had not arrived - apologies all around, but no "replacement order" had been entered(?!). Apologies and "we will get these out straight away. Five days latter - nothing. Call back (on hold 18 minutes) - they are not showing as "paid" in our system. They are replacements - why would they be paid? Now they are entered correctly... how long? They will go out the middle of next week. The middle of next week?? Yes - that's how long our system takes.... still waiting now a week beyond that and trying to calm myself before sitting on hold so I can find out how the messed it up this time... That will teach me for not checking the reviews first! Shame on me, and shame on them even more so. So much for Swedish efficiency... don't make the same mistake.

I love to shop and visit Ikea and I am regular customer of Ikea as well. However, I am very disappointed from the customer service of the Cashier (Cashier ID number 20050852) that I received from my last visited in Woodbridge, VA store. She was rude and lack of patient. I noticed the total amount was higher than I expected. I asked her to check on the screen, and she said she just scanned everything I gave her, and refused to check and push me to complete my transaction, and told me that I can able to read on the receipt after paid. I read on the receipt and noticed there are couple items that were not mine and they were on my receipt and told her that she over charged me. She told me that she cannot check the items for me and I need to match the bar codes one by one and figured out by myself, and even refused to call store manager to assist. I went strange to the return center and ask for help. The lady in return center helped me called the store manager, and solved my issue with credit back to me with over charge items. I when back to the Cashier and told her that she did over charge me. She was rude and raised her voice very loud to talk back to me. It wasted me a lot of time correct her mistake. If she can correct her mistake and be more patient when I told her in the first time. It saved both my time and people whom were waiting for helped in return center. As worldwide big store like Ikea, the customer service like her only pushes customers out the door without return. Ikea desert better employee, not her, not like her. She needs professional customer service training before she take this job.

Apsoulotley disgraceful furniture. I ordered the malm set of furniture including a bed, wardrobe, draws, bed sed side table and separate desk from which I cannot recal the design. All of these pieces of furniture have broken many times and I constantly have to try and put them back together but there really is no use as they break again. The draws of constantly break at the bottom making it impossible to close, the wardrobe has started to come off at the back and the doors were extremely hard to put on and do not stay on. The desk draw also breaks at the bottom even though there is hardly anything in there. Don't even get me started on the bed I have had countless problems! When I put the bed together there were no pieces to keep the board in place so they constantly move and cause the bed to sink in. The frame is always coming apart and the draws are hopeless. The only piece of furniture that has stayed together is the bed side table. Never order anything from ikea you will regret it !!!

Visited Ikea against my better judgement nipped to get lunch wanted a certain thing on the menu but was given larger portion when just wanted normal. Kitchen staff could nt be bothered I sensed trays were dripping wet. Get to the till frantic employee yelping she needed to go obviously her shift had ended. Which I understand but shows lack of staff planning. The fact she was calling out she wanted to go home over serving three customers. Just plain awful! I honestly felt like I was not a valued customer just a number on their conveyor belt.Ikea do you read or take interest in your reviews!!!????plain terrible.

Absolutely diabolical. Firstly my delivery wasn't delivered on the agreed date . The assembly company then didn't turn up on the agreed date . Once assembled the drawers didn't shut on one four drawer malm and both of the two drawer chests . I then spent an hour on the phone to IKEA trying to sort out replacements . Then another call to the assembly people to get them to disassemble before I could arrange redelivery . Rang back an hour later only to be told the items are out of stock anyway. Items were delivered to neighbour today even though i was in so disassembled items not collected. When I phoned the driver he refused to come back and said if I had a problem to complain ! I was advised he had been told to turn around and come back to me but he didn't . One box was also damaged and the corner of the two drawers chest is now damaged so have to wait for another one to be delivered on Wednesday and for the faulty items to be collected. I will now have to wait to have them reassembled as well and I can't reclaim the charges for disassembly and reassembly costs until the job is completed . I have wasted so much time waiting in and making phone calls it's ridiculous . I was going to order my kitchen from ikea but after this I will certainly not be ordering anything from Ikea again !!!

5th circle of hell! Avoid at all costs. Staff a poorly trained nightmare of no help or use to anyone, will not find items and give them to you but will instead send you contninuously around in circles. You'd think they were trained to be as unhelpful as possible. Staff are poorly trained. Every single person I spoke to was from overseas and couldn't understand english properly. No air-conditioning, you are sure to pass out in there. Avoid this Croydon Ikea! Go to John Lewis in Purley Way, Croydon instead- a much more pleasant experience. Ikea is now very expensive £££ (John Lewis prices) but the quality of items and service are as crap as always. When everything was cheap its almost acceptable, but not at these prices. You wont find items your looking for that you've seen online. Go for click and collect if you must buy from them- items are left all around the store and the staff won't get them for if you ask, but send you walking around in circles instead. An expensive and infuriating waste of time. Expensive and rubbish. Avoid.

I went online and ordered a bookcase. In putting in the order, he site asked me to sign in or register. I registered. I tried to order something else (chair cushions) and it went into the cart. When I went to the cart, the bookcase was not there. Bottom line, there were two carts and I ended up inadvertently ordering two bookcases and no cushions. Without realizing I completed the order and realized when I saw the receipt online that there were 2 bookcases and no cushions. I tried to access the order but there was no way evident that I could do that. Poor web design and not customer oriented. I called customer service and they told me there was no way to modify the order so I would have to cancel. They also told me that if I canceled, that I would be liable for the shipping charges ($175). They also told me it may take 24 hours to cancel, by which time it may be shipped. I had customer service on the phone! Why?! If I could rate a zero, I would!

Never deal with Ikea. I mistakenly thought joining the ikea family might truly bring some benefits. There are none to be had. Ikea really has no idea about customer service and staff training. If they offer cheap products you will pay the price in frustration from dealing with their stuff ups, wrong information and completely incompetent staff. I went to the Tempe store in early September. I compiled a list of items i wanted to purchase. As not everything was available at the time and i was told i couldn't order online i delayed making the purchase. I was told i would have to come back to the store. I returned in early October to the store. This time I found out from the same employee that i initially spoke to that being from Wollongong i could have actually ordered online! Where was this vital information before i made a second trip all the way to Sydney? Failure number 1... I ordered over $2600.00 worth of furniture from the Tempe store to be delivered to Wollongong. I also purchased over $150.00 of smaller items while there. Initially my order was delayed and i received no response to my emails for several days. Finally i took the initiative to call the store and ask why nothing had been done. They told me that they had sold out of the lounge I ordered over the weekend of the 8th/9th of October. This is Failure number 2 here.... I had placed my order before the weekend so it should have been processed and the stock put aside for delivery! As they sold out of the type of lounge i wanted I was told i would need to wait until November to get that lounge or i could order another they had in stock. I decided to spend an extra $150.00 and ordered a lounge that was in stock to ensure that i could get the furniture delivered on time. I was verbally told over the phone the furniture would be delivered on the 22nd of October. This date was also sent to me in a confirmation email. However after waiting all day at home i phoned ikea. After being transferred to various departments and being on hold for a combined total of about 30 minutes I was given the news that the date i was given and the date given to their delivery company were one week apart meaning my furniture wouldn't come until the 29th of October!!! Failure number 3....... No amount of reasoning with their untrained and incompetent staff could yield any result other than being told i can wait for it or cancel my order. Really? They can't do more than that? No discount? No coupon to apologize for their error? Not even just delivering the items when they said they would? I now despise Ikea and everything it stands for: stuff ups, wrong information and completely incompetent staff. Do yourself a favor: shop with the local furniture and household goods retailers. They may cost a little more but the time you'll save and the frustration you will avoid makes it worth every dollar.

If I could rate ikea a zero, I would. Terrible service. Daughter ordered many pieces I'd furniture and the delivery guys were saying that ikea screws everyone and won't back their deliveries. I called ikea and they just said we ordered online, so can't get any service and then put me on hd for an hour because I was so mad. They were rude and didn't care one bit that we needed help with assembly. Said it was our problem. I would never ever ever use ikea again

IKEA customer service is the worst I ever experienced. When a panel broke during assembly due to the poor quality of it, we called Ikea to have it replaced. Since pieces have no code there was no way we could identify it via phone, so the woman asked us to tell her the page and the exact step number when the panel first appeared. We did, page 16, step 17. We repeated that three times. The piece was supposed to be coming on Tuesday. I took a half day off work to receive the delivery. The driver called at 3 saying he would be there in 20 minutes, but he never showed up and shut down the phone. After 40 minutes wait on the phone, I finally managed to speak with a customer service operator, and she said the delivery company had finished the delivery for the day, and they would deliver the day after. So, 1 day later than the day they should have. All this happened without a single apology from the customer service operator, and she actually raised her voice with me when I pointed out that due to the lack of professionalism of the partners of THEIR choice, we were going to have a big problem, because we needed the bed to, guess what, use it!!! Finally the item was the Wednesday, yesterday. Today I looked at it and: surprise!!! They delivered the wrong piece!!!!!!! My boyfriend has spent 45 minutes on the phone, and then Further 20 to be able to make the person understand what the issue was, and it turns out that they got the wrong piece because the instructions the customer service has, are different than the instructions I have!!!! So my telling her page 16, step 17 was completely useless!!!!!! What a useless customer service!! Now we are going on holiday and we will leave with pieces of furniture we can't assemble all around the house, with a friend coming here to stay for a few weeks, and no bed to let her sleep in! I will have to let her sleep in my bed, and don't know how we will do when we come back until we receive the piece, if we ever will be able to receive it, which now I doubt!!!! What a huge waste of time and energy, and health as well because all this is adding up to a very stressful time I've just had, and makes everything worse! Thank you IKEA for the worst customer service ever experienced in my life. You will never see me again, surely not online, and I hope all people open their eyes. I'd rather sleep on the floor instead of giving my money again to such a company!!!!!!

I had my first delivery from Ikea today via the company Breeze Mount and based on the experience I shall NEVER order again...I had received a text telling me to expect a phone call an hour before delivery time but my call only came 10 mins before they arrived. When I expressed my dissatisfaction about this to the delivery guy he became rude and very aggressive on the phone. He threatened to not deliver the goods and return them to Ikea (as a failure to sign for the goods) for which I would have to pay a fine. When he arrived his attitude was so aggressive and threatening that my young daughter was attempting to phone the police as we were alone in the house. This is an absolute disgrace and i was left feeling very shaken and intimidated
