Please know that there are other companies you can use. Intoxalock is almost double the price of others. They charged me a $30.00 application fee(which they told me was refundable). Other companies checked what I needed for no charge. I have contacted them numerous times over a 4 month period, by phone and by email. No one has returned any of my messages, and I have yet to be refunded. Scammers!!!

They are a bunch of crooks period.I had one dui a year ago when my time was up I was looking to get final calibration but had to get calibrated two days before they said go in for last calibration ( just making me pay for one more recalibration) then they were supposed to look at last 120days for any fails nothing happened after that I finally got back with them then they say homeland security sent them a note saying I had 2duis and need to pay for one more year I’ve only had one. Final got homeland to call me back and they said ther was no record of anyone sending them that note.so homeland security. Home land security is getting in touch with them I hope they can clear this . Heads up to anyone reading this so not use this company they are a bunch of rude crooks

7 day install nightmare My car has been at Hamilton auto shop 1032 First St. Novato, CA for a total of 7 days since 12/6/24 & still it needs a jump start when it sits overnight w a new Odessey AMG 600 CCA battery. Brandon (Intoxalock mediator) has called my shop and myself for the last 4 days, sending out parts to the shop overnight and getting their tech to talk in Spanish, w the shop's tech. Still Leo (the manager) claims they are losing money & wants to uninstall the IID and refund me my money; so much for certified service center ? What about my time without a car and a NEW $326.00 battery that now needs to be replaced? Brandon has tried;however, the shops should be held accountable for not providing a proper Intoxalock installation, especially will they advertised 3 hour install with certified technicians. The first install had small gauge speaker wire for a ground and wires where connected by soldering them together and wrapping them with electrical tape. I pointed it out to Leo, so the next time my car wouldn't start, Leo had their "REAL" San Rafeal Intoxalock tech do a proper installation w Intoxalock logos on ALL heavy gauge electrical wire connections and 3/8" x 18" plastic shield wrap along the firewall that protected the enclosed a group of heavy gauge wires. The 1st. amateur install messed something up, my car constantly need a jump start. Intoxalock needs to find another service center with ASE technicians, that know how to find a "parasitic leak" with a OHM METER ! BASIC AUTO ELECTRIONCS 101

The reason I gave only 2 stars is from the first day that the device was installed in my vehicle, I had issues. After I shut off the engine in my vehicle the device never did! The facility that installed it didn't help! The told me call customer service! What a crock! No one helped, and gave the runaround! The very next day the device gave me Lockout count down to have the device serviced! But each time I did, the next was the same issue! Keep in mind when you have to clear a Lockout, it costs $75.00, plus $25.00 to the service center! From Sept. 23, 2024, to Oct. The device put me in Lockout 7 times!! 7!! Add that up! I was in constant contact with Customer Service! Not only did they not help, but they tried to say that I was the cause of my issues!? The root cause of customer service is the language barrier! No one spoke very good English! After weeks, and weeks of same issue, I finally was able to get a Work Order for a device inspection! Thanks to the help of Gordon W. C. Auto Repair & Rentals in Augusta GA. We found out the device was improperly installed! I do not recommend Auto Aid in Sylvania GA. I still have the device, but with the help of W.C. Auto Repair & Rentals, they reimbursed SOME of my money! Never again Intoxalock!

If I could give a zero, I would. Biggest rip off. In the winter, new battery, their device keeps killing the battery. Then I have to have my car jumped (multiple times) and they say you’ll have a lockout because the device was tampered with. I explain the situation and they say since I didn’t fill out the form to report maintenance I have to pay a $75 fee for the lockout not to happen. Then I get an email basically saying my battery has died too many times and you need to have a working vehicle or basically they will report this to the state and I can face violations. They have been terrible and their customer service (once IID is installed) is not even in the country. You try to do the right thing to get your license back and this is what you have to deal with. Avoid this horrible company at all costs if possible.

I used Intoxalock and have had issues since day one it’s so true all they want is money if your calling about payment issues or changing payment you get connected almost instantly. I was trying to get connected for removing my device and I’m on hold for 30 minutes at least five times. If your reading this do not use Intoxalock it’s a money pot and they could care less about anything else but your money and installing it.

Hard to know where to start. My daughter is a current Intoxalock customer from April 2024 until April 2025. Customer service is nonexistent, even worse, disengaged and uncaring—not interested in problem solving in the least. My daughter found herself stranded with her car in lock-out mode. After initially telling us it would be no problem for her to move out of state for her job (with court and probation approval of course)—they refused to authorize recalibration of her car when she presented on schedule. CA DMV and the court system assure us we’re in compliance, and referred us to Intoxalock to address—and they were utterly unresponsive. Phil West State Specialist (888)288-7884 Ext: 515 was super helpful until we signed on—and he was very interested in us leaving a positive review on TrustPilot… but once we did—he checked out. We’re in a bind now—and Intoxalock refuses to assist in any way—“not their problem”. Don’t make the mistake we did—choose a different company for an Ignition Interlock Device. This is too important of an issue to leave to a company like Intoxalock.

12/6/24) first IID had a bad relay. Shop installed it and then had to unistall it. 12/13/24) 2nd. IID had a bad harness. Again shop installed it, then had to uninstall it. Customer service is non-existent if you have not signed your lease. I spent 90 minutes getting transfer to 6 representatives the other day. How can I help you, bla bl bla. then you have to explain yourself again. Then oh! wrong department I will transfer you to the right person. 6 TIMES in 90 min's. WTH ! Google reveiws are @ 25 ALL 1 star reviews. My lease has $44.00 worth of non-disclosed hidden fee's, then what I was told when I became a customer. In addition- LEASE demands AUTO PAYMENTS and your bank name, routing & account number, plus your credit card information, so they can make withdrawns directly at anytime they want-without your approval. Lease is 20 pages of all sorts of hidden fees and legal jargain. Any white outs, or changes that you make on their lease is not accepted. My rates w insurance for damage, or thief is $6.00 p/m. My total is $147.25 p/m for six months. Installation in the North Bay, CA is $345.00. My lease started on 12/6/24 and I have spent two seprate days with my car at the shop and as today 12/14/24, again the IntoxA HEADACHE IID needs replacement parts, or a new unit.

If you want to go with the worst company on the market these are your guys. First expect to pay lockout fees even after declaring that maintenance will be done. Second expect very long call times no one ever picks up the phone and when they do they are totally lost. I’ve been dealing with this company for a year and it’s literally the worst. They will charge you for every thing even if it’s something out of your control. Did I mention how bad the customer service is 1/10

MISERABLE excuse for a company. I’ve had 4 batteries already all keep draining. My current is 1 week old today and is already dying. I called and they said they can’t do anything to help. After I’ve paid them how much money. Do not even consider using them. Horrible company.

Nothing more than a nightmare dealing with customer service. I'll take care of you-yea right. Spent 5-10 min's explaining your situation, than I am not the right person-please wait while I transfer you. Today I am on my 5th transfer within 35 min's. Yesterday 6 repersentives over 90 min's. 12/1/24 sign up for their IID. 12/4/24 dropped my car off at the shop @ 9am. p/u car @ 5pm. Shop was able to install the device but bc it was defective had to uninstall it. 12/11/24 I was ready to bring in my car to the shop but the 2nd IID was missing parts. 90 min's I spent on the phone yesterday. ALL B.S. Same run-around, I am getting today-waiting for the 6th person that I am transfer to same old BS- I am not the right person. Transfer me to the 7th person - please leave a voice message. Intoxalock is a TOXAHEADACHE. My lease started on the 12/6/24 and the IID isn't even installed yea, my bal is $113.53 ! The hidden fees' are crazy- my lease states $147.25 p/m when I was told $106.00 p/m. Intoxa-Headache could care less- They know that you need the IID unit to drive and you're already stress out with legal fees, Driving Driving School cost, Insurance DUI cost, etc..basically Intoxa H/A knows that you're stuck btw a rock & a hardplace and they take advantage of you.

Interlock customer beware. (This is not a review for the shop that placed the device, the shop and mechanics were very helpful and kind. This is an Intoxalock review.) I went with this company because my attorney had a coupon for them, and I thought they were less expensive. After this experience, my attorney is no longer recommending this company, and I deeply regret giving them my business. 1. The price they quote monthly is false. They charge bi-weekly, not twice a month, so this means extra payments. They also charge random fees for things that are not used. This makes them the most expensive company out of all of the options I had. 2. The hold time can easily be 30-40 minutes, and many times, they will hang up on you once they're finally on the line. It is very difficult to talk to a real person. I always had to pretend I had a lockout just to get someone on the phone. 3. Once they're on the phone, their Indian accent is so thick that they're almost impossible to understand. The company also said they do not have the ability to transfer calls and do not have supervisors. So, if you can't understand them, you have to start the process all over again. 4. The Intoxalock workers will lie to you. They will tell you they're waiving fees, but then they charge the fees anyways. They will tell you that they can troubleshoot from their department, but then they will tell you they don't have that capability. They will tell you they made notes to your account for the next person to be able to help more effectivity, but then the next person will say there are no notes. 5. The interlock device started to have problems and they refused to fix the device and instead charged multiple lockout fees. The device would stay active long after my car was off and then go off randomly and that would cause a lockout. The volume stopped working and the device had to be monitored by sight. 6. When it was time to remove the device, they stated it was 60 dollars plus the 200 to take it out. They then charged another 340 dollars for random fees. 7. Worst of all for me was that the Intoxalock workers seem to have no compassion or willingness to help when something did go wrong. They were rude and would not help when things went wrong. There is no one you can talk to if you have a problem. There is no recourse when something goes wrong. There isn't a person you can go and see. You are completely in their mercy, and that is not something this company has.
