“I wish I could give a negative number, or a zero at the very least. On Dec 2, 2024, I ordered what I thought was a good deal: 4-pack Stafford undershirts for $12.99. I ordered 3, which was $49.96 with tax and shipping. Received my package on 12/8 and it was wrong. Some ugly, large chocolate colored shirt. Contacted customer service, got a shipping label. Took the ugly shirt I didn't order and dropped it off at the UPS store. Received an email that I was going to get a refund for $13.67. What? I paid $50 and didn't get what I ordered. Contacted CS again. Said to wait. Received an email today and said I am getting $13.67. Contacted CS again today, 12/11. No help. Said they only received one item back. I sent back whatever was in that bag that was sent to me. They said I had to open a case. This order from a week and a half ago has caused so many headaches, time, gas, and effort plus they took my money. I will NEVER shop there again.”
“I purchased dining chairs for the holidays. They arrived early and I was very excited. Until I attempted to screw the legs on. The first chair was great. The next 3 chairs screws stripped with each turn. Small shards of metal were almost invisible on my floor. This is a hazard especially for diabetics! I contacted Priscilla in JCP Whittier and was referred to another number. I called many times and was told something different each time. Finally I was told it was out of JCP's hands and that I had to wait until the company who picks up the chairs called me with no estimate of when that would occur. Also, after they pick up the chairs it would be approximately 3 weeks before I am refunded my money. I'm a senior on a fixed income and I paid with a debit card so there goes my holiday celebrations with no seating. Also my apartment is small and 2 large boxes with partially assembled chairs impede on my Christmas decor! I've been a JCP customer for at least 50 years! I'm very disappointed and I will NEVER order anything except inexpensive items online. I understand why JCP is in financial trouble. The customer no longer valuable!”
“I went in to get a ring, but ended up disappointed! I stood waiting for help and even went to ask 3 different people for assistance and got told almost the same thing.We we thought we were going to finally get help and then she didn’t.So we waited for an hour with no help.”

“We ordered an item from the store. To be shipped to the store was told it would be in in 7 days. On the 8th day we went back. The store had the items on the shelf. We were told our item did not come in. They would not give us one from the shelf. We called customer service, they said. Take it up with the store. We can't help you very poor customer service. They obviously don't want our business. We travel 25 miles to get to the store. It's ridiculous to have to make that trip to take it up with the store.
If this is customer service, then for JC penneys, you've lost. Ask as a customer as well as anyone we can talk to.”

One lady captured walking around display cases with a lady that couldn't make up her mind totally ignoring me standing on one spot for longer then 20 minutes instead leave that lady to choose and make her decision and help me and other three people standing and waiting. Other lady spent 20 minutes checking out the other lady having sweet talk while we all waited for them.. Ridiculous organization and management, customer service, and courtesy. Plain Horrible.”
“I was told prior to returning my purchased item that I would receive a full refund, that included shipping. But when I returned my purchase at a store, I was denied a refund for shipping. The bed pillow I bought was not in the manufacturers zipper bag instead it was in a plain open bag.”

“Been a JcPenney customer since 1989. Recently had a missed payment because I was forced to go paperless or pay a fee to get a paper statement through Synchrony. Paid my small balance plus the $30 late fee and was told I would get my late fee returned after they received payment. Well, I received another notice that I owed $2 in interest that was never mentioned by the agent I was working with. Small amount to pay but can't believe the runaround through Synchrony Bank. I have decided to never close my account with JcPenney after 35 years and will not finance anything again through Synchrony Bank because of misinformation!”

I went in a red head looking to bleach and lighten my hair to something I never wanted. I am walking around with a hair color I never wanted. They were happy to cover it up and call it a day. “Went to JC Penny at Dayton Mall Dayton, OH yesterday. Found one item to purchase and walked around 2 floors trying to find out where to find the ONE open register, which ended up being in the Kid's section at the BACK of the store and then had to wait in a line! Numerous people just left their items and walked away. I would have done the same had it not been for my GD wanting the item so bad. You are making it too easy to shop elsewhere”
