“Absolutely appalling service from KwikFIt today - I will NEVER use KwikFIt again and will spread the word.
Booked tyres on the 19th of August, almost 2 weeks ago.
This morning received an email that the fitter will arrive between 9 and 10am.
Then get a call at 10.39 saying that unfortunately the tyres are not in stock.,..,..
The car has to go to MOT tomorrow with the new tyres I had ordered and am now left with no options because every other tyre fitter needs to order them in.
Maybe, just maybe, it would be good to check you actually have tyres in stock when customers order them and let them know in a TIMELY fashion if you are unable to source them.

“I called into Huntingdon workshop yesterday (Thursday) about 4pm to get a new tyre fitted to my spare. Was told too busy and go back today which I did and was told by William that I must have the health check or they won’t even touch my car. Officious or what !!! I told him I declined the check and I told to I would take my car elsewhere. He said ok you do that. Brilliant customer service. What would happen is someone else took my wheel in.
This is really appalling”

“I had a very disappointing and dangerous experience with Kwik Fit that I feel compelled to share.
In November 2024, I got 4 new tyres fitted at the Welwyn Garden City branch, along with wheel alignment and tyre insurance. Everything seemed fine at the time. However, recently I noticed my car shaking heavily while braking. Concerned, I took it to Kwik Fit St Albans, where I was shocked to be told that FOUR bolts were missing and that all four rims were deformed (bevelled) — supposedly due to driving with missing bolts.
When I told them the tyres had been fitted at the Welwyn branch, the St Albans team added three bolts and referred me back to Welwyn. Once there, I was told a completely different story — that the bolts may have been removed or missed by BMW, who had done a recall service in March 2025. However, I checked my service history (which I’ve kept carefully), and BMW had already flagged that the bolts were missing during their inspection — clearly showing the issue originated before their visit.
Aside from BMW, I haven’t taken the car to any other service center between the tyre fitting and now — so there’s no doubt this happened at Kwik Fit.
What’s worse is:
I was made to pay for replacement bolts, even though the issue was clearly Kwik Fit’s fault.
The explanation changed once they realised the mistake was from within Kwik Fit.
The damage to the rims and the risk to my safety are things I can’t just ignore.
I trusted Kwik Fit with my car, and this level of negligence and lack of accountability is simply unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed, and I hope Kwik Fit takes this seriously and compensates accordingly — not just for the cost but for the danger I was unknowingly exposed to.
Would I recommend Kwik Fit after this experience? Absolutely not.”

“I was miss-sold a product and service demonstrating dishonesty and recklessness.
I just paid £234 for a battery replacement and tracking (and free health check). Battery wasn't replaced, tracking wasn't corrected as per their system and the coolant was sucked to the 'minimum line' as apparently the blue light on the dashboard was a
'warning light' for the coolant .. which is incorrect. I have also noticed damage on the driver and passenger side doors. The car mechanics who worked on my car seem incompetent and put my car at risk and was a worser state than what it was prior to KwickFit. Taking further action and seeking financial compensation”

“Booked mobility car in to get 4 new tyres. On arriving back home (half hour drive) noticed the 2 back tyres weren’t replaced. Replaced 2 front tyres and now the steering wheel shakes when driving. I phoned and asked why they weren’t replaced and they said they didn’t need replaced. I told them that the tread is level with the tread indicator and even took photos but are insisting they didn’t need replaced. Took the car to a different Kwik Fit (45 minutes drive) and they said that the tyres definitely need changed. They replaced them there and then.”

“14/03/2025 Smoke came out of front left tyre. May be due to brake pad and disc friction.
After a while it drove fine and took it to Kwik fit, Maidstone loose rd. I was given quote initially over £500 which was out of my budget so tried to cancel the repair. The mechanic told me that it can not be driven in the road but only can be recovered. I had no choice but to accept the condition. Luckily My price was reduced to £456.05. I drove for about 15 minutes and the brake pad was very very hot. I poured some water. It was smoking and sizzling noise where as there was nothing on the other wheel brake disc.
Mechanic was kind enough to see next time.
It was better but still way too hot in comparison with other wheel.
I have been emailed and assured the master tech will repair my car by the end of the month. I am patiently waiting”
