“Blinds are crap, no clip at end to hold in place”

“The main reason we chose Matalan is it's only smallest king size bed frame which could fit our bedroom. Material is very average; actually hubby broke the board inside headboard while setting up. But on positive side it was very easy to build took only 1 person; it looks descent enough.”

“The blinds took a little while to arrive and although very reasonably priced the scallop blind we ordered mirrored that as it does look a little cheap.”

“Ordering from the website was very straightforward and communication prior to delivery could not be faulted. Delivery was on time, and couriers were polite and helpful. The item is of a very good standard and looks great in my bedroom. The reason why I haven't awarded 5 stars is that nowhere on the webpage did it state that the item required complete assembling. As I live on my own, putting the bed together required assistance from a neighbor, and I was concerned that the quality of the item would suffer from my incompetence. That said, the instructions were very clear (once I'd found them!) and the bed was assembled within 3 hours.”

“Happy with the corner unit ordered and is ideal for what I want. Unfortunately by ordering on the internet I was unable to see the colour of the wood which does not match my existing furniture. I now have the problem of looking around the shops to see if I can purchase a matching occasional table.”

“My only issue was customer service were slow to let us know when delivery was arriving. Only after I got in touch myself did they tell me when it was due , then it was short notice, the next day in fact”

“Easy to order but very disappointed in delivery service. When you pay £16.99 for delivery on an agreed pre arranged day would expect more than "we only have a van in your area on Mondays". Had to delay delivery until I could arrange time off from work. Now I know this I am unlikely to order anything big that cannot be collected in store. The delivery guys were very helpful and took the box upstairs for me.”

“Having phone call before arriving is very useful giving u time 2 be prepared (pets etc out of way).Only downside was delivery person not giving information etc having 2 ask about Un packing, if damaged does all packing need 2 b returned 2. Apart from that all went smoothly as had 3 pieces of furniture 2 b delivered.”

“i have not have the delivery yet but i had a text to say it is due on monday. which is quicker than i expected. i would have liked a email or text to say order was recieved asi had to phoned to check.”

“The whole process was easy, I saw some beautiful chairs at a great price, I ordered 4 and they were hear well packed a couple of weeks later. The quality of the chairs a good and the design superb. I will most certainly use Matalan Direct again.”

“Furniture was ok, one of the drill holes in one chair has not been drilled properly so I can't get the bolt in, will have to do this myself. Ordered 6 chairs, paid for one hour delivery slot. Got one email on morning of delivery with a slot, then another half an hour later. Rang Matalan Direct, to discover that 2 chairs were coming at 12pm the remaining 4 at 3pm. From the same warehouse, by the same courier!”

“I ordered a set of shelving units and not all were in stock so I chose to wait for delivery of all three items together. The due delivery date was extended from end of July to end of August and I eventually received the goods at the start of September. Unfortunately, one of the packages contained the incorrect coloured item despite having the correct colour listed on the front. Despite all these inconveniences I have to give full marks to the customer service staff who were always polite, helpful and keen to sort out the problems. Well done guys! P.S. I am really happy with my new furniture now it is in place.”
