“Although I am not happy with the self service methods Matalan are now using I am completing a review today as we have encountered a really friendly and helpful member of staff assisting at the till. Sadly I did not take her name so cannot give you a name but we shopped at Merry Hill on the 17th March at around 13.45. What a lovely change to come out of a shop and feel like a valued customer.”
“Delivery far better than click & collect. Arrived on time will never use click &collect again after being made to wait stupid amount of time plus the till areas a lot to be desired so so untidy. Gone are the days to be served by a nice assistant. Hate the serve yourself who came up with that someone at head office sitting at his desk!!!!”
“I have always liked shopping at Matalan and found the clothes and non-clothing items in general are good quality and competitively priced.
However I would like to query why the online orders for click and collect take two weeks to arrive. It is the same for any item ordered and it must lose lots of sales as many, just as myself, will look elsewhere to get items from other stores which in most cases have the items ready to collect in three to four days - or even less in many cases. I know it's a difficult time for staff safety but it is an extreme delivery time in comparison.”
“I like to browse Matalan. I bought a king size duvet cover and pillowcases on Saturday . I went to the Christchurch branch. Lovely duvet cover.
I would have also bought myself some new ankle boots but because of Coronavirus no one was allowed to try anything on. So I went a few shops up and bought new boots in TK Max instead. They have little socks in TK Max to put on your feet so you can try on shoes. Then you dispose of the socks . Matalan needs to do similar because they are losing trade.”
“Paid compensation of 10 pounds on goods worth 20 pounds and gave 10% discount on other purchased items after agreeing to their mistake by a written apology.”
“I was struggling to find something appropriate to wear for a night out with friends. I spent almost the whole day shopping around other high street stores to no avail. Matalan was my last stop of the day, within 20 minutes I had purchased a handful of suitable clothing for my night and my wardrobe in general. Delighted with the range of tops available in store.”
“All in all everything I purchased was as expected, both in fitting and aesthetic, though I will say that "wide fit" doesn't count for much in the way of shoes from what I can gather.
You definitely get your monies worth in what you buy.

“Ordered online and collected in store. The product was exactly as described and fit perfectly. Really good quality and loved the colours. However on collection the till line seemed really disorganised with no clear direction where to queue and staff were blunt when asked for help.”
