“Plate looked nothing like screen mock up example ....didnt respond to my complaint effectively..... won't be using again. , rubbish customer service”

“Very disappointed with customer service. The web site was not very user friendly and allowed me to order an illegal number plate which displayed a British standard mark. When I telephoned customer service to explain what had happened they did not want to know, despite having bought previously from them. I would not use again or recommend them to others. With hindsight there are other suppliers with more user friendly web sites.”

“Will not use again,very misleading ending up buying 3 sets of plates to get what I needed. If you have a local market near where you live there is normally someone there that can make plates. Wish I had done that.”

“The Lettering had a pink tinge which looked ridiculous and didn't even match the boarder of the plate. I have use Myshowplates on a number of occasions now and found the service excellent when using standard plates”

“Sent my plates. They were incorrect. They asked me to send them back and said they would pay for the return. They did not pay for the return and have not sent me the correct plates. They have in fact stolen my money and lied to me about the refund. They blamed me for their mistake and failed to put things right. Everyone beware. I have the full email thread that proves everything I have said above. They at first reply to emails and now ignore them. They owe me over £31 and have gone completely silent ignoring all emails. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE.”

“I ordered plates from showplates . as it was after there opening hrs I sent an email to amend my order .plates arrived not to the spec I wanted them changed to .thus I have plates I cnt use legally .reguards dave trip”

Hi David, Thanks for your feedback, however looking back at your order I can confirm you have had exactly what you designed and ordered. I acknowledge that you did send us an email however this was too late due to orders being processed through our automated system as soon as they are placed, being a bespoke product we would not be able to sell this to anyone else. unfortunately this was your error and it would not be fair to expect us to absorb the cost of this. We always try to resolve any issues as efficiently as we can as this is part of our after sales service. “I ordered one pair of plates, on receiving them they were different, I contacted Show-plates to complain, the lady was not at all helpful, I had not got the spaces right when I filled in the information on line. She was rude and had intention of trying to solve may problem. I rang the company the next day to complain and left a brief message, no one has ever returned my call, and I still have two odd plates. NOT A HAPPY EXPERIENCE and NOT A VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY AVOID.”

Hi Graham, Thanks for your comments. I have looked back at your order and I can see that you entered a space on the front plate but did not enter any on the rear plate it is not uncommon to have all sorts of different orders and the emphasis is on the customer to enter the correct details. This would also have been shown on our plate designer. Once the order is placed it is automatically sent to our automated system and printed exactly as designed by yourself. I am sure you can appreciate that this was an error on your behalf and as this is a bespoke product and we would not be able to sell these to anyone else. “If the number plate I received had looked like the picture on screen at the time I placed the order I probably wouldn' t have been stopped by the police and told to change the plate because the letters and numbers were too small. Then I wouldn't have had to go to Halfords to buy another number plate. Showplates are a joke.....”

Hi David, Thanks for your feedback. Looking at the order you placed from us, you ordered a motorbike plate and these need to have digits on top and bottom to accommodate the registration with standard size digits. as you tried to cram the whole reg into one single line the system automatically adjusts the font size to fit the smaller plate. Clearly it would be impossible to fit the full reg on a single line as the plate is too small and commonly bike plates are over two lines. This would have also been clearly displayed on our plate designer which automatically requests two lines when designing. I am sorry to say that on this occasion this was down to yourself. “I would never use again, or recommend them. Bought a standard plate (which turns out not actually road legal) but aside from that, there was dirt trapped behind the film so great bubbles, so even if was just a show plate, you would not use it. I contacted them, and advised wanted photographic evidence, so sent this. They then wanted plates back, se sent back recorded, they refused to originally sign for parcel so remained at post office for 6 weeks. Eventually sent back to them and took weeks to refund original cost, I have still never received the refund for return postage (which they are liable for under distance selling regulations) multiple emails, still no response, 2 phone calls and just fob me off. No doubt will soon appear on rogue traders. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, ARE A BUNCH OF COWBOYS.”

“Ordered the plates online and paid extra for guaranteed next day delivery before 1PM Nothing arrived so contacted them and explained that I would have to go and but some from a shop and would require a refund as I needed the plates on the day. Was told it was a post office issue and nothing could be done, I explained that I was still entitled to a refund. The plates arrived 2 days late and have never received a refund. I ended up buying more plates because I couldn't wait until the next day. Don't buy from here if you want them urgently, I ordered in time for next day and paid extra for fast delivery!”

“Made the on-line order, did make a mistake and called up within 10 mins, rude bloke said its been made and you will need to make another order! Didnt believe him so went back on-line and found another company who were cheaper, when the 2 sets arrived the quality of Myshowplates were not as good as the others! So wouldnt use again Bloke was rude can find better quality and cheaper”

“My overall view of the company is very poor. The plates arrived later than expected. I contacted the company by phone prior to ordering as I have never ordered plates on line before and I wanted to be sure what I was ordering was correct. The person I spoke to was not at all helpful he was very dismissive. I was guided by him. I was unsure about the spacing. I took his advice on the spacing however he did not tell me that if the spacing is wrong it would automatically reduce the size of the letters. When the plates arrived I was disgusted they were dreadful the size of the letters were illegal. I contacted the company on several occasions and they did not want to know very dismissive. The plates went in the bin & I reordered plates from my local dealer, half the price.”

“If you want road legal plates, remember to put the spacing in your self otherwise you will be sent a set of nice, but entirely useless plates. "All in the FAQs"I'm told....which of course I should have read, silly me!!”
