AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COST AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COST Banking with them 20 years. Today they froze my account becouse I made a payment of £750 to my brother account and they decided its fraud. Bare in mind we have same surname. Call them, toldem thats not fraud its me sending my money to my brother account.Lots of intrusive questions, why, what for, my brother date of birth, insinuating that I may suport criminal activities, I gave them the reson they said they are not convinced as i could make it up. Is this for real ?? Whats wrong with this people? They froze my account cos Loren felt like it. What a dystopian world we live in? I will sort out legal advise and I am out off there. Discussing costumer service.

Zero customer service capability. They have removed all access to real people online and by phone so that customers can be served by "the process". If you ever get to speak to a real person they too are restricted by "the process" which is designed to not let anyone fix any problems. I guess their process designers thought they were so smart that they could address every issue ever with chatbots and phone prompts to "press 6". They were so very very wrong. Avoid. Or it will cost you money.

For about the last 6-8 weeks,apparently the Nationwide have been updating their telephone service. Sadly service is no longer the word to use.Calamitous is more accurate. Formerly,in order to obtain a balance or transaction rundown it was only necessary,under prompting,to press a few buttons. The whole thing is now run by what seems to be a robot or AI or some similar thing that cannot recognise normal language. E.g. upon being asked to specify which service is required,one might reply "last 10 transactions" to which the robot replies "so it"s about a dispute?" This has been going on for at least 6 weeks with no sign of improvement at all. Why systems that function perfectly well have to be "updated" (for updated read destroyed or ruined) is a mystery. Perhaps exposure on social media or the press would prompt improvement.

After 15+ years of homeowner insurance, I filed a claim for slab leak repairs & was told that a bid of $12,722.49 from one of their partners was competitive. My main bathroom water closet is busted up & my steam shower is busted up & other areas have been torn up. My Claim was not handled appropriately and according to their guidelines, from the start. I think this is because I’m a single African American woman in a predominantly white neighborhood. RACISM abounds. Potential & current African American customers Caveat Emptor; your Nationwide claims will be handled by a RACIST company. More to come in a few days.I’m

Horribly unfriendly/unprofessional customer service twice over and appalling telephone treatment of an elderly person. Felt I was being treated like a criminal. The experience shook me up raised my blood pressure and left me ( a normally well person) unsteady on my feet. It's unacceptable

Trying to curtail my right to Free Speech. After a few problems with staff and phone calls from a Faye Ingram, which by the way is her nickname apparently, nothing was sorted out. They cancelled my card and a payment to a scammer, who I'd never subscribed to and they said they ordered a new one, but after 13 days when nothing arrived, we went back in branch to find out that a new card had not been ordered. So, one was finally ordered. As such, they told me no more payments would go out as they had been stopped. That was a lie, as another payment went out. When we reported it, we were met with lies, insinuations and phones been hung up on us, and emails to Debbie Crosby, who is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, we had a message from a Kevan Longdown who avoided us, after various messages sent to him. It was handed over to a minion named Fay Ingram, who admitted that 'Fay' wasn't her real name, it was a nickname the staff used for her. She apparently investigated it and it took all of a day. Of course she found all her staff acted properly and accordingly (the ring of steel) so I put a complaint and review on a review site naming names as I'm not scared to tell the truth and name names. NOW, they have complained requesting I edit my review without the names thus in my eyes, curtailing my legal right to Free Speech and so I have refused to change anything. This is Nationwide Building Society for you. A place where only certain members get rewards causing inequality between other members. Oh, and finally, they have put a 'strike' against my name for 6 months because I had the cheek and audacity to stand up to them.

This probably applies to all auto insurance companies, but this post is specific to Nationwide. Pray that you don't have to deal with them when they total your car. I will be out $5k to $8k after all said and done. They short you on the buy out, give you only $300 out of $1300 for brand new tires with invoice as proof bought 1 week prior to accident. Accident was not our fault. no account for TT&L costs, don't take into account current market prices for used cars replacement, or account in higher interest rates. Nationwide is not on your side. Slow to respond, Poor car evaluation, sub par adjusters. I hope you never have the bad luck in dealing with this company.

Absolutely rubbish Have a considerable ammount of money with them went into do an isa You can't do an isa in the branch Repeat you can't do an isa in the branch What sort of ridiculous set up is this ? Closed one account Drew out £40k went along the road to Santander and NAT west ,both helpful Other accounts with these jokers being closed soon.

Rubbish bank, they reduced my credit limit without telling me. When I agreed to meet them halfway and partly reduce it they were not interested in helping me at all.

Nationwide reduced my overdraft with no notification, numerous conversations and they are not interested in even meeting me halfway.

i have car and house insurance with nationwade, i had wind damage5 weeks ago, to my singles, adjuster came out, three weeks ago, i called nationwide they gave me a number in ohio i live in alabama i called and called no answer they sub out , to who ever is cheap, and i get no help, my neighbor has alfa insurance and he got his claim complete and singles already on in 2 1/2 weeks i cant even get company to talk to me, BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM NATIONWIDE SCAM INSURANCE

I have been with Nationwide all my adult life, over 40 years! The trauma was as a result of the freezing of my accounts due to the large bills i had to pay a builder for building a house for my adult disabled daughter. It was legitimate, i was managing the build which was stressful enough. and, without warning, they said i could be the victim of a scam and had frozen my accounts. i had selected the builder myself with the architect from three quotations, i knew there was no scam going on. i was without access to my funds for a month. The uncertainly of when i would be able to access funds added to the trauma. i had no other accounts. My Mastercard was stopped because of a 50p fraud on it so i could not even use that to pay for tiles, carpets, paint and all the various contractors involved. The staff were unsupportive, unhelpful and absent from the phone lines for 90 per cent of the time. i spent 3 hours on each of the 8 visits to the branch to try to resolve the matter. They could not access the fraud squad either under 1.5hours. They 'lost' my emails with all the information they requested and which i sent to them the first day of the freeze. All my agency was taken away by their actions, I felt totally disempowered. I had to borrow thousands from family and friends to support every day expenses. I complained only to be told i was unable to visit the branch nor have my accounts any more adding insult to injury. the pittance in compensation offered does not even cover the trauma informed counselling i am receiving. Furthermore, their apology was unconvincing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK/BUILDING SOCIETY TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. SUGGEST YOU SWTCH IMMEDIATELY TO ANOTHER BANK. HOWEVER, I DO THINK BANKS GENERALLY HAVE TOO MUCH POWER. THE LEGISLATION ON MONEY LAUNDERING NEEDS REVISING SO THE SO-CALLED 'VICTIM' IS NOT VICTIMISED, ABUSED AND TRAUMATISED BY THE BANK ACTIONS.

They won't honour an agreement on an old mortgage with a facility of a drawdown even though they told the broker and Client that they would. No customer Service

The worst Building Society- A waste of time They closed my account without notice and kept my money stuck in the savings accounts for 2 weeks. Now I couldn't touch that money and couldn't feed myself nor travel for this amount of time. When I went to branch, Kenny from East Ham Nationwide was talking to other customers while dealing with my enquiry. They refused taking the money out for me 3 times in a row. If I could give them minus 100 I would.

This bank / building society has to be the worst ever for customer service. It’s standard rates are very unfriendly towards customers that have a buy to let Mortgage like myself. You would think they can do better in terms of the current financial climate. But no, this company care only about their money and nothing else, absolute greed and nothing else. Their customer service is totally shocking, I’d wished I’d never had a Mortgage with this bank, and wish to leave ASAP and to wash my hands clean of this company! With my situation they just do not care,(which is not surprising being the worst company in the UK), and do NOT offer full options, in which you would think they would do so in my situation. I hate this company, I wished I’d never had anything to do with this company, and one day I will not, and will never for the rest of my life!! I have serious concerns with this disgusting and useless company and am extremely dissatisfied. About four of my last calls have expressed signs of extreme and I mean extreme dissatisfaction and this has not been picked up!!! Totally shocking company, I hate this company, can’t wait to fully be disconnected from this company!!!!

After six months trying to retrieve my 401k it took over 20 phone calls & multiple emails to get my money. Its been one of the Worse company I had to dealth with even wrote to ceo never got back to me.
