“Still plenty of room for improvement but the airport has moved a long way toward being one which is of the quality a region such as the North East should have. Parking options in particular are much improved and the approach to the airport is a lot better than it was.”

“Plenty of spaces to park. Better surfaces since additional tarmac has been laid. Prompt shuttle service. However, there should be some type of announcement system (audio or visual) when the shuttle bus drops you off around the park. Returning during the night is confusing as you struggle to understand where the bus is in relation to your parked car.”

“The upgrade to short stay parking, was really worth it, much easier for us. Helpfulness of Jet2 staff was 1st class, from checking in to bording the aircraft. Good variety of items in duty free shops.”

“We always have an issue leaving the car park, the barrier never lifts and we can be waiting for the intercom to be answered for a few minutes, once we’ve given our reference number the barrier is lifted but it’s so frustrating.”

“Only issue i have is passport control - takes far too long compared with other airports - particularly when there is more than 1 plane arriving at the same time. Not well thought out introduction of scanners that don`t seem to reflect demand.”

“Great Airport except the Border control on returning. Only 5 automated passport readers!! Just not enough resulting in delays at the end of a journey. All other airports seem to be better resourced in this area. If more than one flight arrives at the same time you are in for a long wait”

“Really good service but would of preferred on return for your car to be in the bays where you put it on arrival. My husband is disabled and that would of been of great benefit to me.”
