Helpful staff. Polite, professional airport security staff. I had set the full alarm off and the staff were excellent, I felt comfortable and at ease. The pre paid parking site was easy to use, the car park is directly opposite the airport. The only fault was the toilets weren’t very clean.

Parking was quick and easy. Felt safe leaving the car here. The only issue was on leaving the car park - I presented my ticket and was told I owed over £100... I'd already pre-paid and the bill was half of that. I pushed the button for help and was stuck on the phone for several minutes while the operator sorted the issue - this concluded with the barrier being raised and no explanation or apology.

The premium meet and greet parking is excellent the staff both on greeting and returning were personable and first class they were professional and the service was seamless and first rate. We will use again many thanks. The staff in the Aspire Lounge+ were excellent. Security going out excellent. Boarder control coming back very poor, the electronic passport control too slow staff sat watching not keeping the Queues moving when raised with the Jet2 rep she said they were not allowed to use their initiative and needed permission from managers, which seemed ridiculous when they are supposed to keep the country safe. I would have thought initiative was vital to their role. We were told to complain to boarder control but feel it is the job of Airport managers, and Jet2 to complain as I am sure you meet regularly to monitor the quality of this service and currently it is letting the Airport down. This was our only concern everything else was very good and affects the overall rating.

Overall the airport is user friendly with friendly staff. However, there is not enough public seating. Most of the seats are in commercial areas (bars and fast food outlets) with only minimal seats available to just sit in

Still plenty of room for improvement but the airport has moved a long way toward being one which is of the quality a region such as the North East should have. Parking options in particular are much improved and the approach to the airport is a lot better than it was.

Plenty of spaces to park. Better surfaces since additional tarmac has been laid. Prompt shuttle service. However, there should be some type of announcement system (audio or visual) when the shuttle bus drops you off around the park. Returning during the night is confusing as you struggle to understand where the bus is in relation to your parked car.

The upgrade to short stay parking, was really worth it, much easier for us. Helpfulness of Jet2 staff was 1st class, from checking in to bording the aircraft. Good variety of items in duty free shops.
